- Here's the fix to my nemesis, error 2...
I've been stuck on this for two week,
Hope you guys will understand by french accent and I also hope that it will fix that thing.
if you can't understand all of my jiberish, here is a point to point thingy to fix it on your own:
1. Navigate to your steam game files: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common
2. Delete the Vegas Pro 14.0 folder
3. Go to Control panel and uninstall both Vegas Pro 14 and Vegas Pro - Steam Powered
4. Go to your steam software library and right click Vegas Pro 14, then click uninstall, (probably won't be there because you uninstalled it in the last step threw control panel)
5. Reinstall Vegas Pro 14
6. Now, after it is finished downloading, COPY AND PASTE THIS INTO THE BAR AT THE TOP TOP OF THE FILE EXPLORER: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vegas Pro 14.0\vegas140_x64.exe (look the video if you don't understand, it will run the install application of vegas pro so you won't have the error 2 message)
Basically what your doing is manually installing the program instead of letting steam do it for you, because that's apparently what was causing the bug.
7. Go to C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0 highlight every single file and folder, right click, and click copy OR to C:\ProgramData\Vegas\Vegas Pro 14.0 and highlight every single file and folder, right click, and click copy
P.S. I have a lot of people commenting on the issue of the files actually not appearing in the folder I have told here, apparently the folder might actually put itself somewhere else that I have said here. It happened to me once. You have to search for yourself where it might have gotten in your files.

8. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vegas Pro 14.0\Vegas Pro 14.0\ and paste them all into that folder
9. Go to steam and launch it from steam
And it should be fixed I hope it actually helps!

If anyone is still having any issues:
restart your computer before/after running the installation .exe file.
You'll know if you need to because a window will pop up that says VEGAS is already installed and requires a reboot. You will still have to run the exe after restarting, however. This was where I got stuck.
I did it and it didn't work...

YOOO! My French friend, Thank you so much. Seriously. I searched for hours and hours yesterday for a solution to this very problem and all the answers were about the version from the website and not the steam version. It was very frustrating. I then went to create a support ticket with magix themselves which was hard to find and then I go to the point where I was sending them my questions and I was prompt with being told I couldn't send them my questions unless I had a support voucher and since I didn't have one I had to purchase one. Thnx iLLakune. I was thinking of getting this, then saw error message from user reviews, but I think I'll get it and try your solution if that happens. OT I love france, learning the grammar is a little difficult. I'd love to expatriate to the Pyrenes mountains.

I had this strange issue. What was wrong is steam wasnt running the vegas installer. So I had to go into the folder and run the installer. It installed it in C:\Program Files\VEGAS\VEGAS Pro 14.0. I then copied those into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vegas Pro 14.0\Vegas Pro 14.0, and then ran the verify files option on steam. It worked after that.

I got this error by accidentally moving the Vegas 140 file out of Vegas pro 14 folder while I was trying to find my own way of fixing the “create video plugin factory” loading screen

I dont know why but if i go to pragram data or program files there is no vegas or vegas pro file and if i go to vegas pro 14.0 in steamapps\common there is only the launch_vegas140.exe
Hi, it is actually randomized somehow... on one of my other computers, when I installed it, it was somewhere else. I'm actually going to modify the description of my video because people have been commenting on that a lot.
So please go look in other files, they might be hidden somewhere else for some reason.

Hello, my vegas140_x64.exe file won't install because it says "VEGAS Pro 14.0 - Steam Powered is already installed...." when in actuality, it has not unpacked the files yet from vegas140_x64.exe.
I tried to download through the link you uploaded through, but unable to because I need a premium account. Can you please upload the files to google drive instead of mediafire?
Nevermind, was able to install it.
It turns out, there was already another version of Vegas Pro Steam. It could only be found through Revo Uninstaller app (control panel uninstaller won't detect it.). Was able to delete all hidden registry files which enabled me to extract/redownload without it saying "VEGAS Pro 14.0 - Steam Powered is already installed....".

Because it did happen to me that the file went hiding somewhere else.

I don't get error code 2, just isn't even installing on first time set up. Got stuck at 2/2 before for a long time then tried again and didn't even move at 1/2. Would this help as well?

Im at step 6 where im supposed to copy and paste that stuff into the file explorer but it cannot find it. When I search for vegas pro 14 on itself i still cant find it.
What is your hard drive assigned letter? D,E,G etc...
Depending on where your drive is called you need to change that.
So look at the drives you have, and where you have installed vegas pro.
So you take the copy of the link I gave you and you put it in the bar, but before you click enter, go over the C I have in the link, and you delete it and you put the other letter you need to put, so G if it's G, F if it F etc.
And then you press enter.
With other people I tried to help and me too on my other computer, the file might actually get somewhere else... Like really lost in some other files, so if that does not the fix for you you'll need to search for the files in the drives :/

I've actually tried this many years ago Ann couldn't do it on my gtx 770.
I've tried again tonight on my gtx 1070,
I haven't been able to.
But learned a trick to go into the internals. When you go to preferences, press shift and click on preference. Then you have the intern tab on the top right, you can go in there and type "allow gpu".
If it is there then you can activate it (by replacing "FALSE by TRUE"), if not...I still have to do research on that.
I just can't make it work on my side either.

bon enfaîte j'ai essayer à plusieurs reprise mais le problème c'est quand je vais dans le panneau de configuration pour désinstaller steampowered et bien il n'y est pas. je n'ai pas de steampowered installer sur mon pc et quand je le lance manuellement il me dit que steam powered est deja installer .. tu as une solution ?
Oui, quand j'ai eu ça malheureusement, j ai réintialisé mon pc... Mais donc tu fais bien la marche à suivre oui? Tu essaies de désinstaller et après tu éxecutes l installation avec le lien du fichier oui?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Vegas Pro 14.0\vegas140_x64.exe the problem is still there saying that there is a update pending. I'm just gonna refund it and use a crack that I have.
Edit: I restarted my pc and installed it without having steam open and now I was at least able to install it.

Yo man when running the .exe file for the installation, a pop-up tells me
Vegas Pro 14.0- Steam Powered is already installed. To reinstall the program, uninstall first the existing version
or in french :
Vegas Pro 14.0 -Steam Powered est déjà installé. Pour réinstaller l'application, désinstallez la version existante au préalable..

im doing all the steps but when im installing it to go to step 7 the vegas folder is no where at all to be found searched every where for it ever downloaded it to my music folder and its not their im confused help me
Okay, try to uninstal vegas and do the same steps. If it's not there just try to check as I said in the program files x86 and the program data. If not message me again. Sometimes our PC's are cursed. It happens to all of us

Still doesnt work, tried this method and many others. I deleted every vegas file from my pc for a CLEAN install and now im getting error code 59 lol

I really like it, you can do many things on it in therms of editing. I've been using it for many years, after, there are nore different editing software and people have different opinions, but I won't recommend adobe.
I really like vegas, it will take some time learning the interface, but if you pay it once, it's yours forever.

please follow this steps to solve the problem:
1.) Run regedit
2.) Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Wow6432Node > Sony Creative Software.
3.) Delete Vegas Pro entries
4.) Delete Vegas Pro from the folder C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps/common
5.) Download and install the software again.

@@legoNerd01245 it is, I don't know why there is that problem in the first place, I would understand the older versions because they want people to move to the new version (which is a jerk move to be honest). But also for vegas 16... I didn't knew you guys had the same issue :(
@@Illakune yeah, I think it's just an issue with the steam version of the software. So there's a huge downside to buying it on steam.

Friendly Fish Then you need to find it... I don't know where it could go else on you computer but search for a file named Vegas pro 14.0 with quite a lot of files in it as shown in the video. PS if you find it, please tell me where it is so I can put a different location on the video.

I maybe now the mistake you've done. I have ran into problems recently, and it depends on where you install it. When you do the installation at step 6, it will ask you where you want to install the files. and it's there where the files at step 7 that you need to find them. and then copy them in the file I already told you.

Does vegas pro says error and a number? Could you tell it to me which error it is?

I went once the normal route but yeah those files can pretty much end up anywhere...
That's the thing I don't know why those devs did that.... I wonder why it's so broken.
So go look under program files x86, program files and windows files.
They could be in any of those

Hey it's not my fault if the devs purposfully broke it...
It took me two months before I could find a way of making it work again and that was back in 2018.
As I said I am sure they did this on purpose to make people buy their newer product (which is extremly bad from a company to do that...).
They might have broke it even more...

I really wish they would fixed their issues but they just don't seem to care at all...
Maybe try to find where the file went because sometimes it depends on people it just goes on another drive for some unknown reason...
