- This is how I tie a loop for quick change stems while also using rig tubing for carp fishing. These are generic stems which are available on Ebay and Amazon.

I've recently had the issue with the knot being too far up for me to be able to use the tubing, seeing you use a secondary loop has just solved my problem! Thank you sir!
I scratched my head for ages with the knot problem, why do simple solutions evade us for so long 🙄.
Thank you for taking the time to comment 👍🏻
@@BivvyLifeso basically it’s the same Knott used for spod fishing allowing to quickly change spods
Very helpful and easy to follow. Nice video
Nice edge that pal makes a very neat connection and presentation cheers steve
It does mate, I know it's easy to get anal about these things but I just have a thing about wanting to pin my line down plus the fact the tubing is fish safe when playing them.
Cheers pal 👍🏻
That’s just wot I needed to see thanks pal 👍🏻
Glad it helped, thanks for the feedback pal. 👍🏻
This is great. I have been using some of the new cygnet stems. And I haven’t really liked them cause the loop has to be so big. Since the knot is to big to pass through the stem hole. I think this solves that.
Glad the guide helped, Thanks for commenting.
That weight is never dropping off if the line breaks
Helped alot many thanks
Thank you
Simply brilliant idea
Thank you Jim.

Hi Steve- as a Newby to carp fishing I'm getting most of my information of u tube .just wondering why when fishing with a solid bag the bait go's in first and not the weight.
Hi Jim.
Sometimes it's simply a case of personal preference other times it can be deliberate.
Personally I like a bit of separation between the hook and the lead so I'll pop the hook in first with some bait then I'll drop the lead in,I'll then continue to fill the bag.
When I'm fishing at distance I'll pop the lead in first then fill the bag, This way the lead will fly further as it's weighted front first.

Thanks for explaining this and for a quick reply 👍
Very helpful, Thanks :)
Glad it helped you out.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Steve
Could probably combine this with the inline drop-offs to your right, for weedy lakes that insist on dropping the lead whilst still giving you the quick-change advantage of pre-tied PVA bags.
Thanks.
Yes mate absolutely 100% you could.
Thanks for the feedback

So do you actually tie 2 loops or just create a second loop and pass the first one through it to tighten down ?
Pass the mainline through the small overhand loop the easiest way to feed it through is by creating a small loop.
Steve
Would a quick change swivel not be better so you can just clip a new bag on?
Attached to the eye of the stem?
Any advice what leads to use? Because the system doesn’t fit inside a Korda 2oz weight. Will I try a 2.5oz?
Hi Keith.
Drill out the lead with a 4.5mm drill bit from the swivel end, only drill to around 3/4 of the lead not all the way through. You'll find the stems fit snuggly doing this.
I tend to use 2 or 2.5oz with small bags and 3oz with bigger bags but depends on your rods and what sort of distance you're wanting to fish at.
I use Chameleon leads in Tamworth he makes them from home with pride, his leads are top notch and very cheap, around 65p-70p each, he also posts them.
Hoppe this helps
Steve
@@BivvyLife cheers Steve bud... Wouldn't be able to get them leads as I live in Ireland but that drilling is a brilliant idea thanks 👍👍
How do you un loop it? Or do you cut the line and do a new small loop?
The loop can be fiddly to undo, you need to push them towards each other. Got to admit I tend to be lazy and give up, then proceed to cut and re-tie 😃

Hi there thank you for the video have you got a video for useing pva stem and the length of ur rig and what length to used for a pva bag plz
Hi pal.
No I don't but after researching it there aren't that many tutorials or there. Wirth this in mind I'll definitely doing one. Thanks for the feedback.

@@BivvyLife plz let me know when u done the video I like to used the pva bag but need to know the whole set up from how to attach the mainline to the inline lead and what type of line to used for this pva bag I’m used the stem to I nee to the pva bags as I alway ued the mesh system
4.30 ... the second loop ... im not sure how that works ... do you have to tie that second loop off ?? But confused thank-you great video 😊
@andrewcarson3455
Hi mate
No you don't tie this off it's simply a loop that allows the knot from the primary loop to slide tight up to the lead stem. If you tie it off you'll end up with a knot positioned too far away from the stem which will prevent you positioning your tubing onto the stem.
Very helpful thanks fella
Glad it was of some help pal, thank you. 👍🏻
Steve
Why don’t people just use a tie on a quick link, as it would sit inside the anti tangle sleeve just fine ?
Jesus that's never been a solid bag 😄 🤣
Maybe in a previous life 🤣🤣
@@BivvyLife just get the gemini stems pal 👍 done
I use the Avid they're brilliant but also heard good things about Gemini. 👍🏻
@@bobnudd6879 I heard the Gemini, you have to cut the line and tie a new knot. Here its about creating one loop that you can use to quickly change the solid bag.
