I like to use a few mods when i play like the placeable seed pallets and feed stations so you dont have to leave your farm. Started up a farm yesterday with a cotton field and placed a spinnery and tailor shop and started making clothes. This morning after mostly getting all my sheep and wool and everything going yesterday i was able to sell 6 pallets for 180k and today i did another season of production sped up until april at the high point and sold 10 pallets of clothes for 304k. Paid off the loan in full and still have 250k+ 😁 really enjoying the paces of the production so far. I also now have two sheep sheds and two spinnerys to really keep my stock full and processing year round. Gonna try to get another tailor shop soon with profits going up but im also looking into cows or such to expand even more. Ive always played these games almost every single one thats released but this one by far feels the most intriguing with everything you can do. Cant wait to see what more mods bring in the future!!

I've noticed that the price fluctuations aren't exactly working according to the graphic in the prices section in-game. I'm sure you've noticed already but definitely take a look at it, haven't seen anyone who has really figured it out yet so I just make an average and only sell if the price is above average. Cheers!

Be mindful if you don't place a manure extension, they will still produce manure, you just can't get it. I run months without one, and the storage tab shows I have 15k more manure then I actually have in the manure heap. It just can't be accessed, so stuck there forever.

According to an update making it weird to use straw since it used to do absolutely nothing in fact of manure or slurry production, The cow pastures DO NOT create manure anymore since you now require straw to make manure and cow pastures don't let you give straw to your cows sadly.

Do the pastures not make manure? I can't place an extension next to mine, keeps saying it needs a barn but I can place a regular one but it doesn't collect manure??
Dunno if you tested this by now but barns don’t need manure pit to get 100% health

Hello! My cows are 59 months old and they productivity got up to 100% and reproduction to 70% and then it droped at 20%. I feed them the total mixed ration and i left them space for newborns but i dont get it really why it happens? Thanks.

When do newborn cows start producing milk? Months in and I'm still at 0 litres with my Swiss cows

Question for ya FC: On Erlengrat it starts you with a cow pasture and a liquid manure tank. The liquid manure tank isn't filling, is that because its a pasture? Isn't it odd if they start you with a pasture and a liquid manure tank but they don't work together?
Also, if you do have a barn, and you place the manure extension, if you have the liquid manure extension do the cows produce solid manure and slurry? or is it just one or the other?
Update: upgraded to the cow barn, free liquid manure tank is now filling and it's not the extension tank. Can't confirm about the manure yet
I just know you have to use the extension tanks to get them to work with the pens
@@FarmerCop must be a bug? The non extension slurry pit works with the barn version of the cow stables but not the pasture. Not sure myself about the manure, haven't had the chance to test it since I asked, but I'm sure you're right with the extension

@@FarmerCop I'm also trying to get the erlengrat cows to work, but the game wont even let me place the ones in the silo extensions menu. They say it needs to be next to a barn or a silo. When looking at the pasture it only shows food, water, and milk meanwhile health has dropped to 0%.

@famercop I came to this video and the manure heap extension says it must be placed next to a barn, the cow pasture doesn't have a barn. So can I not do manure with a pasture?
It should work with the pasture still but i could be wrong
Adding a manure heap extension shows message "A manure heap extension must be placed next to a barn." How did you place it next to a cow pasture?
I haven't trouble my Cowpens when I go up there where's grass it won't let me paint it in I said no storage compatible I want to learn how to do cows frustrating
Here's a question for you my friend!. I bought 2 pallets of milk from the store to start my BAKERY and it would not accept them, must have trailer obviously. Travelled all over Elm Creek to sell them and NO-ONE buys them! If u do any research on this could u please let me know as Im stuck with 2000lts of milk now. Thanks mate!
I just got started with cows, bought the second barn, the 254k one. Put 10 Holstein cows in (the 1100 ones), gave them grass and straw (don't have anything else at the moment), but they are not producing any milk. Do I have to wait for the cows to reach the point when they can reproduce?
Yes theybwill mot produce milk until they have matured
What cows should I buy for my farm or dose it not matter?
Where can you buy the loose straw or what’s a good way to make larger quantities of TMR.
There are modded bulk buy points for straw, hay, silage, or even just TMR on the in game ModHub, this is a quick and easy way to get as much TMR as you need

Can you move cows to another barn? example if I have a barn with 80 and they are ready to reproduce, can you move that to a new barn, and then in that barn you'll have 2(the cow) and the new born calf?
Yes you can with a livestock trailer :)
Quick question, will the cows move between pens say the small was full but the large was only 80% will the new cow be placed in the large pen assuming room or will it not matter? If it doesn't matter is it worth it to transfer cows between pens (assuming you have to use truck and trailer to manually move cows between pens) or will that reset their health(and thus productivity/reproduction)
It should reset them but you would have to move them manually
I did have headache for manure silo, it didn't work because game wiki don't tell that there is a "EXTENSIO" version for required next to cow barn! Damn I waist build money :( But thanks for your help and advice!!!
I'm using a dump trailer in the large cow barn like you did and my cows just keep wanting more... I've put a million liters of straw in the barn and it's not even half way full. Please someone help before I turn them all into dinner

Milk trailers are located under tools then under animals in the store

Yes you can use one for multiple sheds :)

I am not sure, I have not tested that yet, but I would think it would have to list them all out
I’m using 7 day months, I’m on day 4 and haven’t had to refill any of my animal pens food. Are they not eating? Does it change by the month not the day? I’m confused.

On Erlangrat I stocked the cow pasture with grass and water but the cows health kept on going down to zero how do I solve this
You have to provide TMR to get the health up
why do i not need straw in small cow "thing" pasture or what its called? I bought a forage wagon just so i can give my cows straw. Is it only in the bigger cow "pastures"? And if yes why would you even buy bigger cow barns? you could save making straw.
You only need straw if you want manure, no straw will get you slurry while straw will get you manure

the auto cow farm you need to put hay, straw, mineral feed and slurry in the holding spots that are separated from the mane cow farm the arm will put your hay, straw, mineral feed and slurry in the robot and it will feed the cows fore you.
I wish you could fence an entire field and make it a pasture.
No matter what I try, I can’t get my cows to produce manure… I’ve placed a silo and a silo extension. When I place extension it says “need to place a manure heap next to a barn” using the pasture and silo extension…
Make sure they have straw bedding and a manure heap extension

Make sure you are providing the cows with straw or you will not get manure

Straw is about the place the cows are, barns still require it no matter what and pastures do not require it
From what I've noticed at 36 months is as high as they go cuz at 37 months the Angus went down in price

@Farmer Cop, Did you ever find out if you need a blower or will the barn take straw bales?
Don’t know if you found your answer but I gather straw in a forage wagon and just drive it inside instead of baling or the blower. Much quicker and easier.
You will need the blower for straw bales. And the “dumping”-process is a little different. At least at the large house. Do not drive into the house, then it will not take the straw. Place the blower just outside the door with the pipe of the blower facing into the house. Then you can blow straw into the house.
Trying to fill a large water tanker from ponds and rivers on elm creek. I can drive all the way through the south east pond and still no prompt to fill tanker. Is there something special I need to do in order to do it? or is it a PS4 issue?
Im not sure but I have found that backing the trailer in partway but having the tractor not in the water makes it work, its a little finnicky
I've only been able to fill a large water tanker from a river, the ponds dont work for them, only the small tanker
@@dannycauser which river? the one with the road through it in the north west of the map didn’t work for me
I've only tested it on the USA map, on there the ponds didn't work, but the biggest river did, I also didn't need to back it into the river, just go right by the side of the edge of it
I had the same problem, and the only way I figured out how to fill was to get out of my tractor, and get back in it. I could then fill the water tank.. strange
So what exactly is the reasoning behind why you get the silo extension for the manure heap, and not the silo?
The extension at least at this point in the game was all that would work with the cow pens. The non extensiom version basically served as external extar storage

Are cows good money? was thinking about breeding and selling the Angus ones, but I'm on a challenging server so don't wanna make a bad investment lol.

I cant seem to figure out why the cows or the horses not showing in the barns or on the field after i purchased them. Im on ps5.
Only so many will show up, example: if you own 100 cows only a few will render in for performanance reasons

Do the beef need tmr to reproduce better or have a better value? I wouldn't think so because that isn't the most realistic.
They do, TMR is the best productivity for them
