Sooo happy Doja Cat's EMA performance somehow introduced me to Plini's beautiful sound.
Welcome to Pliniverse.
Welcome to the best Prog metal Instrumental composer out there
Same!!!
Same
@Sparky Z 2:50 in Dojas song, 3:27 in this song
To be honest more people are going to look into Plini after the Doja Cat performance, that's prog metal being put right in the spotlight which doesn't happen often if at all.
Yes. I was never even angry that they used it. I was angry that they did not even ask plini's permission. Now that it has million views and much criticism THEN they actually start trying to right the wrong. Well better late than never
@@chadmarx7718 this song has more views than the Doja cat song, also they’re both different enough for them not to involve plini the arranger gave him credit and said he meant for it to sound like plini they already gave him credit for that part and plini wasn’t the only one that inspired the arrangement that doja did
@@eVoxlilbigslash dude i hope you realize that a million views in 4 years is completely different from a million views in 2 days and a half.
With that being said I think I agree that the "stolen bit" was way too short compared to the full song to even ask for permission.
Artists quote other artists they like all the time, the real problem was that after being called out and admitting he took the riff idea from Plini, he doubled down and mocked him with another post. So not a professional behavior at all
So you be saying, he got paid in exposure?
@@bennymountain1 ahaha it happens at all levels right? At least this is some "real" exposure so to speak.
We built this city on Djent and prog.
Doesn't quite role off the tongue
TundraL5Z bit of a stretch but I appreciate the leap
gotta love many things in here
this is the greatest comment on YT right now
LMAO!!!
3:28. My goodness. So many musical things happening at that moment. The driving half time in 4, the tone, a tasteful bass drop, the rhythm guitar magic, but frick this dude places his themes in THE BEST places. The man is a melodic and motif genius.
I JUST realized he uses the same melody at the end as he does in the somber solo earlier on. But the second time around it's totally triumphant. Been listening for years now.
dude.
you have officially identified THEGOODPART
And the subtle bass drop as well when it hits!
@@alexwr THIS!Have you tried listening to that part with a decent pair of headphones? It's epic!
This is like happy music for angry people. I love it so much.
Everything is just right, as if there's no possible way to improve it.
you captured it perfectly. just like Plini , frkn amazing
Very well said! This is what totally feels to me!
Actually there IS one way to improve it. Have more of it
Ryan Daniels that’s the best 🤣
This is happy music for happy people.
That bass tone changed me forever.
They played this live the other night. The bass sounded just as good in the room. :D So good!
I'm extremely jealous. I've yet to see plini live One day!
I STOPPED EVERYTHING I WAS DOING AND LISTENED AS SOON AS I SAW THIS IN MY SUB BOX
Preach
SAMEE!!
same af
yup cuz that's the sniz
You should cover this one man! :D
I literally had tears rolling down my eyes at 3:28. Such a powerful part of the song.
Exactly. After first couple listens it's the most goosebumps moment.
I absolutely agree.
Yeah dude, its incredible epic!. I have a question, which program/instrument/ can i do that shit?
I'm assuming your talking about the sharp transition right before the hook reprise?
Guitar. Looking at Plini's tabs (on sheethappens), its a couple dead strums and then hitting a natural harmonic like your life depends on it.
Bro this part hits me so hard eh, its gorgeous.
The amount of groove in this song makes me so happy. Troy Wright is a great addition to your music Plini. Absolutely beautiful
What about Simon Groove on the bass?
He already played on The End of Everything
That was Marco Minnemann ^^^^
He is talking about the bass player.....
Kevin Wade did Troy record live drums or is he just the touring drummer for plini?
That main lead part is probably the most beautiful thing I've ever heard.
This is the 2nd song I've heard by Plini as I only just discovered him a few minutes ago. I gotta say this is effin' sublime. I've been missing out.
Same. Fucking A.
Literally same
Listen to Sunhead if you haven't yet brother
S I M O N G R O V E
*groove ahahah
@@MatteoRacconeMUSIC grove**
Artefato perdido de Magic it was just a joke, I know it’s grove 😊
@@MatteoRacconeMUSIC relax :P
For anyone looking for the similarities with Doja Cat's live rock performance of "Say So", go to 2:50 in Doja Cat's video and listen to the underlying guitar riff (not the lead guitar in the solo). Then go to 3:27 in this video and do the same thing.
similar but not the same...
Definitely not the same.
Sounds like every generic prog djent to me.
@@metal1254 dude the rythm guitar and timing and key is literally the same
Yeah it sounds pretty different. I was expecting it to be in your face identical.
Prog has been comming back to life these past few years, but now it's just screaming the hell pure joy !
Damn Right. still going strong!
What’s prog
@@jillmont3342 progressive rock, it's a genre
The prog rock/metal/djent movement is elevating everything. The musicians are raising the bar in every way & it's just exploding into something wonderful.
Doja Cat: I'm going to use your riff
Plini: Why didnt you say so!
I think it would have been really fucking cool if plini came on stage and played the solo
Hahaha nice one!
Thought I had almost lost my greatest passion! listening to this song made me pick up my guitar again. finally playing after a long and very depressing 6 to 8 hours of not playing at all.. phew. THANK YOU PLINI I LOVE YOU GUYSES FINGERS AND MUSCLE MEMORIES SO MUCH OMG!
Try 2 years man. Like riding a bike.
im currently riding on 4 years with no playing, the spark just disappeared, to my drama in the industry
After stopping drugs it dissapeared but I feel like coming back
@@Paintedbynurgle Man, I know what that's like. I stopped playing for maybe 6 years after giving up on my 'music dream' and getting into regular work. The trick for getting back into playing for me was to let all the layers of background pressure to succeed fall away, and just have fun with it. It's easier said than done, but once it starts to happen the magic can slowly come back. :)
On Plini. Thank you for making ur lives so much richer and deeper and showing us things we may have missed without you journiing to the underworld and bringing them back for us...the beauty, the depth, the spaces, the textures, soft place my tired brain can find safty in....Rumi and I wonder who you are Plini - As you circle the stone tower....are you a falcon, the wind or a song?
so glad plini's getting the recognition he deserves now :)
Absolutely brilliant !
Boulevard des Airs écoutent donc du metal-fusion-prog-instrumental,
je comprends la volonté de vivre de la musique mais vous pourriez arrêtez de chier une musique radiophonique à ce point insupportable si vous n'êtes pas que cynisme,
This song makes me feel like I'm gliding along a moving sidewalk, gradually making my way through a beautiful wasteland of increasing grandeur and entrancing destruction.
3:28
That bass...so subtle, but my ears perked up especially for that.
Oh yessss! So happy I got to find you through Doja even under the circumstances. I miss the early 2000’s style metal and kind of never moved from replaying those albums from my favorite musicians. I really enjoy your work! 💕
Who else do you like?
Who had good speakers enough to hear the deep bass drop at 3:28 ?
Ye it's nice
yes! real nice touch! Baooooooom! 😍
that shit was dope
Yesss. Seinheiser hd6 headphones. I definitely recommend
Still sounded badass on iPhone earbuds.
All the quintuplets and groupings of 5 that are hidden in this song make my life complete
As a drummer, 4:05 has to be my favorite part where Troy goes rogue while everyone else stays the same only to come back to the providing the backbeat at 4:33. Too bad they don't play this live :(
they play this live now all the time if you get a chance to go see them.
I shed a tear while listening to this
Beast Guitar, same here, just love it when a certain song can bring out that kind of emotion, had that happen to me with a few rush songs as well lol, I'm just a big cissy when it comes to a brilliant melody haha
Aaron Klok don't you mean you shred a tear xD
can't believe after three years of obsessive listening i still hear new things in every song on this album. took me three years to hear that big 5:4 in the outro
Little message to musicians or nerd: Have you remarked that most of Plini's songs , or Plini's "vibe" come from the Lydian mode. It is obsessing... This song and the record are wonderful
I get some Frank Gambale influences in his playing! very tasteful
all the prog rock bands, chon, polyphia, intervals do the same
Louis Menard i didn't realize this but i'm going to pay closer attention now!
Yeah it's very interesting (and beautiful) ! The verse in this song is really pure Lydian (at least the first part of it) as well as the last climax :)
Lots of Dorian too!
I can't express how much I love and appreciate Plini and his brilliant team. They brought a wave with them, a wave that took us to an island previously undiscovered.
Team?
I am literally in tears towards the end of the song. Your music brings meaning to my life! Amazing...
been listening to this song for a year now. polymeter towards the end still gets me. it's so unexpected and different. its so perfect
what a beautiful song... love when Plini re invents and surprises like this... just... wow
clicked 'like' before I even heard it. just cause I know I will love it 💓💓💓
same XD
Yup.
same!
I have said before, it's like Plini can do no wrong. Musically, at least, haha!
Just when I think I've heard it all on guitar, Plini and his entourage comes along and shows me more. Magical.
she didn’t even noticed
I came here just to check for myself. I guess others noticed too. But hey, maybe Plini actually collabed.
@@hiroprotagonitis Yea, I saw it after I posted the comment.
@@hiroprotagonitis Which one?
@@Xirdrak the one plini uses to tweet
@@hiroprotagonitis lol
3:27 is just ridiculously good
I'm not the kind to proclaim every half-decent pop song 'awesome'. Instead, I save the word 'awesome' for songs like the ones Plini has been putting out. The perfect combination of rhythm, heaviness and melody in his compositions is a testament to his creative genius. As Vai proclaimed, the future of virtuoso guitar playing is secure.
Why this song makes me cry?
Your tones allow you to change it with your hands so much. It's so versatile.
That song that plays in the sky at 6 o'clock when the brilliance of all the suns illuminates the galaxy
I'm a guitarist but I can't help air drumming to this song, I love it!!
when i discovered plini on a random back in 2016 was the best day of my life..the feels was real!! 🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘
Haven’t listened to this song in a while still my favourite plini song
I can't express the way I'm feeling rn listening to this song its like watching a sun rise and you're very happy but it's not THAT HAPPY it has that dreamy vibe its like the happy ending music to a big story.
wait that's lydian.
I’m so late to the party but this is outrageously awesome
The climax feels a little Hans-Zimmer-inspired. I love it
having an eargasm right now.
2 years ago I said this was the best song ever made. After listening to this song for the first time in 6 months I realized this is still true. I've never been more confident in such a bold statement before.
God bless plin. so good.

There is such a nostalgic sound. I get these weird flashbacks of being in my 90s childhood home.
I'm glad big artists listen to one of my favorite artists.
Can't wait to see him live with Intervals and Animals this weekend!!
Plini is love.. Plini is life!
It's good to see real talent get out. There's a million others just as talented but no band or members dedicated enough to stick to it like them and if these trees could talk
Loving the Jeff Beck influence, best song in the album
This dude deserves 10 times the subscribers he has now. How does he only have 127k?
Because people listen to shit like Justin Bieber, and stuff
Saw Plini in Boston last night. Wow. If you can catch him on his American tour do it!
How does someone write something this perfect? I really don't understand
Tremendous music, rich sounding and colourful, very original.
I can hear some Vai & Devin Townsend in there :)
Love me some plini, this guy rocks so hard!
So because of the Loudwire article about Dojo Cat, I now know about you! This is awesome.
It has taken me 4 years and my first set of studio monitors to hear that sub drop at 3:28...it really caught me off guard
Posting full EP on YT = best commercial strategy ever. How can you not buy this pure awesomeness after fully listening to it?
If listening to Plini feels so heavely just imagine how Plini must feel being himself
3:09 is pure gold!
❤🔥
I never got struck by new generation guitar player like him! I've heard him today for the first time and exploring his music, since morning!
I've been waiting to hear the rest of this song for weeks. It was worth the wait
thats how you tell a story through the electric guitar! awesome!
I'm so hyped to see him live next week
You're new tunes make my ears and mind weep tears of joy
Personally the most emotive guitarist for me and most inspiring. Thank you for your music Plini.
That weird bass at the first half is pretty damn cool
Simply beautiful not many guitarist these days play with such musicality.
Thank you Plini for this wonderful piece of music. This song is such a masterpiece!
Amazing song plini. Thankyou for the master piece.
Thanks for making this album!!!!!
I'm pretty sure Heaven is like Plini songs but with Jesus on vocals
Teddy Light nah, Jesus is playing air guitar, trust me. I'm a doctor.
I'm pretty sure heavenly vocals would not detract from the power guys lol
Just the One, the true Most High God
Jesus on vocal and god the father on guitar lol
Jesus already does vocals on this song, we just cant comprehend it
I need more chill guitar alternative rock music like this
Angel Vivaldi
Animals as leaders
your live show in Portland was beyond what words can describe! the acoustics in the bar on the 2nd floor is amazing, you guys sounded great!
Plini was the most clear sounding performance I’ve ever heard live and I saw animals as leaders the same night right after.
Amazing as usual - SO MUCH STYLE !
Been listening to this guy for years. Epic musician 🎸🎸✌🏻❤
I'm here supporting plini because you know, the people are going nut sayin the girl is a real genius... But the real genius is here.
Geniuses make hits🐭
This music is saving my sanity.
just saw them last night at the crofoot in pontiac,mi. mind is blown. music has class and intellect. never heard of them before the show. WOW What a pleasant suprise.
This song is Really REALLY AMAZING! Thank you for made this.
couldn't wait to get off work and jam to this. love you dude! amazing album.
Heard this live the other day in Glasgow. Absolute killer tune!
Fantastic tune, keep on throwing music at us
This song is so funky. I love it.
I heard this song for the first time during the first lockdown a year ago ... intense chills
Heckin frick! Those time signatures! Polyrhythms for days.
Yes! Fantastic work!
Thank you so so much for your music. You just made my day a whole lot better again.
Wow! I only recently came across this tune and I'm listening to it while working so only half paying attention but then that part at 3:28 hits and I stopped, a shiver went up my spine and I I lost track of everything else. Spectacular! There is something so magical about that interlude, just can't express my appreciation of it well enough.
whoa look who it is
Beautiful beyond words, and absolutely inspirational in every way.
GREAT SURPRISE TONIGHT!!!!! OMG!!!
Your vibe is always amazing. Very well written album
