Diego Luna Breaks Down His Most Iconic Characters | GQ - Zábava
Narcos: Mexico is one of the best shows out
Dude so good
Yes !
All 5 seasons of the narcos shows are top notch television
It is a great show but Gomorra is better.
Way better than Narcos colombia
My mans loooked so sad talking about how he can’t dance 😔
It do be like that sometimes u kno?
😭😭
pretty rare for a Mexican guy, but that just makes me love him more 😍
Sad or lying 😂
Time line?
he seems like a very smart, informed person, i literally could listen to him talk for hours
Thus he played as Miguel Ángel Félix Gallardo
Agreed.
Unfortunately this has often become the difference between having a theatre background, and not.
not to mention his voice and accent
He really is and he’s not scared about calling out the corrupt government and police forces in his country in interviews. He gives zero fxxks if they try to go after him it’s why he’s not moved out of Mexico despite what they could do to him!?! He gives his country and it’s people who’s afraid to speak up a voice and they respect him for it. It just takes one person to stand up and say “no more, things need to change!” I can’t wait to see him playing Tony Montana in the Scarface reboot and the legend himself Al Pacino has given him his full blessing and backing saying in interviews “that they couldn’t have picked a more perfect actor to take on the role of Tony.”
Luna has been great for years, Glad to see he’s been getting more exposure especially with star wars and Narcos 🇲🇽
Not especially, only lol
He’s in Star Wars?
MuerteFamily In Rogue One as Cassian Andor
@@masterfamclothingco He's in Rogue One which is a direct prequel to Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). He's also going to reprise that character for a prequel on Disney Plus.
rod dlc how did I just now notice this
When I was watching Narcos I kept thinking "This guy looks like such a good person, how did they cast him as such a heartless criminal?", but again I forgot all those because his acting was so good.
The transformation in that role is amazing, without makeup or prosthetics… just with his expressions I found him to be truly unrecognizable and absolutely terrifying.
Diego can never look anyone in the eye when Havana Nights is brought up but he doesn't realise so many of us love it XD
CezL why doesn’t he like it?
@@heyhey11793 because it's cheesy
That movie actually my favourite I am after watching it 4 times today
I preferred Havana nights to the original dirty dancing!
It's my favorite movie!
he has a nice voice/accent. always liked it. he seems like a gentle guy. even the narcos character, to me, seemed sympathetic in a way how he was so introverted and isolated, gentle even, but no less a monster. It's interesting how he played him.
GyroLamb he is super charismatic❤️
GyroLamb it’s the Capricorn ♑️ charms.
GyroLamb absolutely. I almost felt bad for him at times.
Perfect description. I’ve always seen Miguel Angel as kinda like Michael Corleone. Both fiercely intelligent and cunning. Both softly spoken and almost seem gentle...almost...
Rogue One is 100% the best SW after The original trilogy, and Narcos: Mexico is one of the best shows ive seen. Cant wait for more of this dude in the future.
Real talk
Rogue one was my favorite
rogue one gang rise up
Why was rogue so good?? (Sincere question)
Edgar Blue there was no political side stories, no happy ending, and great acting
Y’all really made him talk about dirty dancing I’m dead
What is more painful to Diego: dedicating himself to playing Felix Gallardo, or being reminded of Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights?
Being reminded that he was in “El Premio Mayor”
@@smithsfan425 loooool absolutely.
I liked that moνie
It wasn't the best ... but still enjoyable
@@smithsfan425 el premio mayor was funny!
L G Lopez I watched it as a kid but didn’t realize he was in it until recently!
It makes me feel so relieved how Diego has moments where he says "mexico"with the american accentuation and other times "mehico"like us natives, one of the things that used to make me feel so self-concious whenever i speak in english. your brain in two languages does that to you.
Exeivier Gtz Sometimes I just say Mex
Sumi 😂wtf
Bruh same
Where in clip? I don't want to rewatch the whole thing 😐
diego luna is the sexiest man alive you’re not going to change my mind
Agreed
Karla Barake I agree! 👏🏼
Amen sister
I agree
Obviously you haven’t met Pewee Herman.
It's odd that young actors are reviewing their "most iconic" characters, as though their careers were already ending. Here's to many more "iconic characters" for Diego Luna.
"as though their careers were already ending" nothing is implying that at all. So what, these videos can't be made until actors are well into their 80s lol?
He is 40. Not that young. Although he looks like 24.
He's reviewing 20 years worth of films which is more of a career than most stars will ever have so it's not that crazy for him to go over his most iconic characters. I'm sure he will have more characters to come but why not get him to go over what already happened since it's no guarantee that this series will always be here.
I found it VERY odd when they had Timothee Chalamet or Lucas Hedges do it. Yes they’ve worked a lot and wonderful actors but I wouldn’t necessarily call any of their roles ‘iconic’
Shamelessly, I love Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
That’s where my crush on him started, love that movie.
I think it’s actually not that bad, I love it 😂
the best 😩😩😩😩 him sayin 'que bonita' 😩😩😩😩😩😩🥺🥺🥺🥺 lord have mercy
He just gets better with age in all ways. He's so intelligent , down to earth, well spoken and handsome.
I finally started my Spanish courses at 30yo thanks to Diego. How inspiring is that?
Never too late!
TesGon good job amigo! You’ll do great :)
Hola Juan, hola Esteban, dónde esta esa biblioteca? esa es la casa de mi tía, no gracias, soy alérgico a los crustaceos. jajjaja Enhorabuena!
Chrystian Delgado entendí esa referencia.
Very 👌 keep going
Probably my favorite actor right now.
I like pena a lot. They both need to make movies together
Actually, he is my uncle, the cousin of my father. And it really makes me happy to see him in this kind of interviews. I haven't see him for a while, when he was doing the first season of Narcos, it's really amazing that now he's doing Narcos 2 and that is progressing so much with his life.
Que gran honor que tu tio sea Diego Luna.
Saludos desde Minatitlán, Veracruz 🇲🇽
Lucky you. The man is phenomenal.
Your uncle is my three year olds hero. He wishes he was Manolo Sanchez so bad lol
Diego has a certain approach to acting. He studies his characters, finds their strenghths and weaknesses, separating the objective and subjective. This is probably why he embodies the characters so well. He becomes the character that I often forget he's acting.
Always gives a stellar performance, he is truly a remarkable actor perhaps one of the best in this generation.
He BECOMES his characters. I love this dude. He's so much fun.
I adore him. He’s so humble.
Diego Luna is so likeable, as an actor and as a person, that I find myself rooting for him even when he is playing a psychotic drug lord. If you read this Diego, you are a huge inspiration to me not only as a Mexican-American but as a human being.
What Diego said about his role in Rogue One means a lot. To see a Mexican actor speak with his native accent be one of the leading heroes fighting to save the galaxy in Star Wars means everything to Mexican Star Wars fans everywhere.
y siii
He is such a sweetheart, he deserves everything and more❤️
Saw him on a play in Mexico City... he alone in a dark stage for around 1 hr and a half telling the story about two lovers. Impressive actor. Big respect.
Im gonna miss him on narcos. He was brilliant as felix Gallardo. He made me wish that the real felix should have never been caught just so we could see more of diego in narcos
He will probably cameo in S3 but not as a big role :(
@@media696 nah, even though he's out, doesn't mean it's getting worse, they did a good job, focusing on the plaza bosses a bit, keen to see the next season with amado, chapo and benjamin going at it.
@@fl45459 I think the actors of Amado and Chapo are going to shine next season.
Omg so there will be another season? Cant wait to see el señor de los cielos rise up
The story of el chapo is next
i remember being a teenager and trying to find a movie that was in Spanish so my mom could watch and understand. We chose Y tu mama. yeah, did not see that threesome coming.
thatpecinalgirl hahah I guess you didn’t do that research first
awkward
if you know spanish right off the bat the title says it all
I can only imagine that awkwardness in that room 🤣🤣🤣
I genuinely had no idea he's been in so many iconic movies. Crazy.
You gotta watch more movies.
YO ANOTHER TG 😏😁
I had a laugh attack when he said he realized that he was in front of a ''mafia'' and had to give them the 20 euros he made, this guy is deadass funny and hes also a big role model for me as a latin citizen.
I love how genuine this man is. It will never get old listening to him talk
I could listen to Diego forever
Can't wait for the Cassian star wars show
What!?!?!
@@JA-ev7om yep it was announced by Disney and so was a Kenobi series
@@narutard7737 🤙🏼
@@narutard7737 so it wasn't scrapped?!
darikai219 Nope. Filming begins this year
he’s so beautiful😢
This is the first one I’ve watched all the way through. Diego is such an an incredible actor
He is so sympathetic, so beautiful. I can't hate him even when he's playing Felix. Look at his eyes, so warm soul. ❤️
This video has so much information I'm impressed:
1. The real life nanny of Cuaron, Cleo character in Roma was an actress in a movie.
2. Diego Luna acted as Michael Jackson.
So attractive, so intelligent, so humble, so talented. I adore this man.
Let me tell you diego is sincerely one of the nicest people I have met. What a pleasure.
When did u meet him? What happened?
He’s so fine... ugh 😩
I thought I was the only one who found him attractive. xD
You should see Gael Garcia Bernal.
He has such a nice speaking voice
Ive been in love with this man since Y Tu Mama Tambien when I was 15. He’s an amazing actor. Loved him in Narcos Mexico SOOOO much.
Rogue One is amazing! Definitely one of my favorite Star Wars movies!
This man did an amazing job of playing Felix in Narcos, what a great actor! Just can’t believe his part in the Narcos series is over, really got attached to his character.
Diego Luna as Felix Gallardo was a role he was born to play. I hope he gets more roles and plays them equally as well.
Narcos Mexico is so well put together. I can’t wait for more episodes centered around El Chapo & Senor de los Cielos
Bay Area Coalition too early for the whole to be focused on el chapó, next will be el señor de los cielos, while the other cartel fights. After that I’m thinking el chapo. El señor de los cielos will have enough story because his career as a criminal was long.
He speaks so intelligently. It's like my mind was trying to process so many things at once.
This is so cute and wholesome. He's so adorable
I could listen to him talk all day!
He is so humble(and handsome!)
Feels like almost all of his characters he didn't expect to get them but did lol
Edit: holly cow at the end of the video he does say it is necessary to be humble as an actor in order to better portray the story that needs to be tell🤯👌👏👏👏❤
SUCH an underrated actor
The Terminal and The Book of Life are the definitions of underrated.
Y tu mamá también is one of my favorite movies and I’m so happy for Diego’s success!
Honestly he seems so nice and genuine, him and Keanu reeves are in my amazing good books
I love that story of how Gareth Edwards cast Rogue One with such a talented, diverse cast with a clear purpose!
That movie did representation right!
I hope the Disney+ Cassian series follows suit.
This aged like fine wine👌
Glad Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights is part of the list. I love that movie!
Diego has the most unique voice, I could listen to him all day. 😍
Diego Luna, great actor, first time I saw him was in “Y Tu Mama También,” awesome movie!!!👍🏻
This dude is so cool.
I can listen to Diego Luna speak all day
This guy needs way more roles, he’s one of the best actors alive.
The fact Dirty Dancing Havana Nights is included makes me happy to be alive😂
Thank you Diego for being generous in sharing these great stories
He seems like such a sweet genuine person.
I love this guy's smile.
He is outrageously talented and I am so glad he shares his talent with the world. Also, his inside-out sweater gives me life. Iconic.
Diego Luna!! One of my favorites
Watched this whole interview with a smile, he’s so precious and pure 😅
i love how humble is Diego Luna
One iconic role is being a co host in the Conan Show
Let's not forget his role as passionate boyfriend in Katy Perry's- the one that got away
Ugh he's so cute I love him
"La Casa De Mi Padre" is Fkn Iconic,,, ever since then I had been waiting for him to portray a Narco again,,, Amazing Mexican Movie Starring Will Ferrell & Diego 😂🇲🇽🎥
Diego had me in Dirty Dancing:Havana Nights. He is just so pure
Disappointing omission of Rudo Y Cursi
And Milk
Tbh rudo y cursi is one of my all time favorite movies
I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING!!!
Rudo y cursi may be his worst film
@@jesusrodriguez242 have you seen Casa de mi padre?
I’ve always loved Diego Luna he’s such an idol good to see more of my Mexican peeps hit Hollywood
i love this man
1st season of Narcos Mexico is amongst some of the best made content on Netflix
he’s so fine yo .😩
lol literally i have the biggest crush on this man
I’m swooning over his accent 💞 yummm
Man I remember being a kid watching this dude in "El Premio Mayor" when he was a kid too. I'm super proud seeing Diego come this far.
Love how he expresses himself...so clear and honest. God blessings to Diego and his family. 🙏💖
Shows amazing! He's ruthless in a kind way
Much respect to you Diego Luna 💯
Diego, we love Havana Nights❤️
I was asking for a video like this with Diego Luna the other day. It's like the universe heard me :P
His English is really good
Taking in count that his mom is British is actually bad
Diogenes o Sinopeus He was like 3yo when his mother died.
Anthony 5k All of Mexicos Middle class speaks English reads and understands it, just FYI
@@looksok3327 No, they don't. I don't know where you got that info, but it's wrong. Not ALL of Mexicos middle class speaks english. I'm a middle class Mexican living in Mexico City and believe me, you're wrong.
. For some reasons Mexico schools teaches French language instead of English.
Saw this bloke in Narcos: Mexcio, then Star Wars Rogue One. Can say im a big fan of him now, keen to see him in other projects. Wish him all the best, seems like such a down to earth, genuine humble guy.
Faltó "Rudo y Cursi". Un clásico de Gael y Diego
Jose Antonio Garcia tienes razón
Diego is charming, he should be in more films and shows. Literally after seeing him in Rogue One, I want him in everything. 😂
Why is he so zaddy though
Diego Luna's most iconic character is himself being in love with Jabba.
No it’s Yabba
Dios mio! Lo AAAMMOOO!! 😍🥰
I've been crushing on this man since we were younger. 😆🙊
If they ever make a Scarface remake mi tocayo is the best option for the remake trust me on this. He's the one
What an amazing actor and he seems like an amazing person too!
I'm literally in love with him! ❤
Diego leaves the impression of a smart, understanding, humble, hard working hugely talented person! ❤
I fall in love with him every time I see him!!!❤❤❤
I've always loved his name
Y Tu Mama Tambien is a great film. Diego Luna is a wonderful actor
Y tu Mama Tambien one of my top movies!
Just rewatched mister lonely for the first time in a decade and it’s such a gorgeous, mystic triumph and Diego’s portrayal of this orphaned character within a orphaned character is so heartbreaking and inspiring simultaneously I couldn’t help but cry
Oh wow what a beautiful man and a beautiful actor. Lovely man.
