    Good to see the beginning of the timber industry and all the hard work that starts the whole process.

    How did you manage to create such soft soil
    And what are the cut down trees? They look like some type of mulch

    You guys should order some Canadian tree planting gear made by a company called bush pro. The bags are way better than those medieval torcher devices y’all got on. The shovels you guys got are probably okay but you could cut the blade down a lot, the blade is way bigger than anyone would use in Canada for a tree with a plug. Do you guys plant bareroot as well? if not cut the blades down to the size of the planters hand plus a little length. Cutting off the kicker on one side is also pretty common. Good luck out there.

      Most radiata planting is bare root.
      Spade blade size is necessary as some of the sites soil type and structure is horrible. Also stems are generally required to be planted deeply.
      Agree re Bush Pro gear.

    if sivi needs more people ditch the hourly rates contractors need to pay more $25- $35 a box for planting and $350-$500 for thinning to waste its what we are getting an the thinning should be the same as the planting eveyone plants at different speeds its same thinning yet from what iv herd most contractors do a team effort team pay work the block as a team thats B.S.......on the east-coast we all get ow own peace within the block carry R.T for communication an only cut for six hours an we are all on over $1,000 plus per week

      $25 at least per bag or box, especially in cut over.
      Motivation for the boys to go hard.
      When I was in the Bush the boys would average 20 bags a day on the EASTCOAST, some smashing 30 on good days.
      If on farmlands boys could do more.
      But that wouldn't happen if they paid hourly.

    Have you ever thought about planting fruit and nut tree seedlings? That could be fun

    • @frenchmontana961
      @frenchmontana961 Před 3 lety +1

      Forestry management is mostly about growing for commercial lumber. That's why they're growing pine. Because most of the wood used in construction and furniture is pine
      It would be nice if forestry was replanted for old growth, but that's just not how it works

    • @ya00007
      @ya00007 Před rokem

      Fruit and nut trees are grown by farmers on their own land. This land is owned by the government and the trees are grown for lumber in the construction industry.
