I do somewhat agree about people sometimes being hyperbolic about hating something. I get that for people realism is a very important factor into enjoying a story however personally I tend to have a higher suspense of disbelief then a lot of people
I definitely understand both sides,.. but i'm not reading the book for it to be realistic lol!! I need a break from the real world lol.
So glad I found a booktuber like you. Your reviews are so honest, and I'm definitely here for it.
Yay thank you for watching!!
I found the characters in The Perfect Marriage so annoying. I was annoyed from start to finish, but I did finish it 😂
I couldn’t stand any of them!! This was a terrible book lol
The ending of the book messed it up for me 🤦🏾♀️
I thought it was cliche
Oh I liked the Quiet Tenant a lot! Just got Daisy at the library today, looking forward to it. If it's preposterous, that's OK.
It just didn’t do anything for me lol! I hope you like Daisy Darker!!
I read Daisy Darker a year ago. I enjoyed reading it.
The Only One Left was one of my top reads in 2023! I loved it.
It definitely was a good one!! I’m glad I read it
Hi Bonnie,
I read The Only One Left this year. I really enjoyed it. I read all of his books except his newest book that is coming out this summer.😊
Yass! Loved this! I’m new to booktube too! Excited for more of your content! P.s .I have daisy darker on my tbr excited for it after your review
Yes! I'm subscribing now. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I wrote some books down to check out. Thanks for the recommendations. Have a wonderful day.
Yess hopefully you like them!! Thanks for watching 🫶🏾
Sounds like some great books!
The last couple weeks I finished The Teacher by Freida McDadden, No One Can know by Kate Alice Marshall, and The Other Mothets by Katherine Faulkner. I enjoyed all three📚.
Ooh I haven’t read the teacher yet! I want to read the Other Mother by Katherine Faulkner because I enjoyed Greenwich Park by her! Thanks for watching!!
I’m about to start the audio book for None of this is True. I’ve heard the audio is excellent ❤……congrats on all of your 2023 reads, and YES OF COURSE, the audiobooks your read count in that total !
ohh I hope you love it!! Lol so many people will argue that they don't count as books!
I’ve read all of these, we have very similar reading tastes! Nice review! 😊
Omg yay!! You have good taste lol! Thanks for watching 🙌🏾
I could not finish The Therapist (and I really wanted to like it bc I am a therapist 😂). I can’t believe you did not like The Perfect Marriage; I absolutely enjoyed it lol I did not see the ending coming 😆
Lmaoo that’s probably why you didn’t like it! The Perfect Marriage was just one of those books where they annoyed me 😂
If you haven't checked it out yet I would recommend Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris. It's one of my favorite domestic thrillers. Def gonna check out The Therapist
I have read it! It was a wild ride 🤯
Thanks for the great recommendation
No problem!!
My daughter and I read Daisy Darker as a buddy read. I read A Flicker in the Dark. I liked it. I read None of This is True. I gave it a 4 star 🌟. I loved The Only One Left. I really like Riley Sager. I liked The Perfect Marriage. I really liked it. You had some good books.
That’s so cute!! I wish I had a reading buddy.. most of my friends only read romance lol. I’ve really been enjoying Riley Sager lately!
you have to read The Passengers and The One. both by John Marrs.
Okay! I have The One on Audiobook but I need to read The Passengers. I don’t think I’ve heard of that one!! Thank you!
Those are my two favorite John Marrs books!
I enjoyed None if This is True. This is the second book I read of hers.
I DNF'd another Jeneva Rose book and removed her from my TBR.
I haven’t picked up another one since The Perfect Marriage 😅 maybe one day!
@@KhaylasBookCorner The Jeneva Rose I DNF'd was "One of us is Dead." Other people have also panned "You shouldn't have come here." I think I'll pass on her.
I read the perfect marriage and it was ehh. I couldn’t stand What lies between us, the ending was awful. I like your channel and subscribed, great job. If it’s ok I would just like to make a suggestion- the music while you’re talking is very distracting, i would love to hear your reviews without the music.
Yeah the Perfect Marriage annoyed me lol! I’m the type of person that loves background noise so I put it in my videos, but I can definitely remove it or lower it even more! I need to get a mic too for better audio!! Thanks for watching 🙏🏾🙏🏾
I’m a new sub as of today! Love your reviews but I also can’t focus because of the music. I would love if no music was played also. ❤❤❤
@0:42 I agree with your take on fiction. None Of This Is True, The Quiet Tenant were decent read for me. TQT moved to slow for a thriller. I'll DNF a book in a heartbeat. If I can't get invested in the first 50 - 100 pages, it's history. I have too many books to read. I enjoyed every book I read by John Marrs so far. I DNF'ed The Writing Retreat.
I need to start Dnf'ing more books! I'm going to try your method at 50 pages lol! I can see why people did not like The Writing Retreat!
A flicker in the dark mustve been one of them books where genetics took over from her daddy. I read the perfect marriage I could see what was gonna happen and thought it was very cliche. He just seemed like a very ungrateful husband to me for everything his wife did for him to try to get him over his writers block.
Maybe.. maybe not 🤭
I’m surprised most people didn’t see it coming 🤷🏽♀️ all the characters were annoying, but I ended up feeling slightly bad for him at the end of the perfect marriage lol
@KhaylasBookCorner I just feel like if you're unhappy leave before you find someone else but boy that twist at the END I seen it coming but it was gold. Right now, I'm starting" the house across the lake." it's good but VERY SLOW . I have to have surgery in a few weeks, so I'm stocking up on books. I will buy a few that you've recommended.
I didn't liked The Quiet Tenant either.😏
Thank God I'm not alone lol. It seems like everyone loved it..
