I've been watching this series on the tv which i dont normally do but I believe the production value here warrants it! Then of course i forget to come back and comment 🫣
Claires face when she arrives in Anchorage says it all 🫶 Pure happiness, appreciate the quality of these videos Nicky!

Been living in Anchorage for many years now, and have enjoyed this series so far! Its really fun to see what others think about my home state.
Running Commentary of my thoughts while watching the video:
    - Its funny to hear the "Seward Highway" called "Route 1". Only the GPS calls it highway one around here lol!
    - Girdwood is our little sleepy skiing town. Jack Sprat is also a great restaurant in Girdwood.
    - I always recommend the tram ride in Girdwood for tourists. Beautiful views as long as the cloud cover is high enough.
    - Whittier is always fun because of the novelty of everyone living in the one building. Begich is pronounced "beg-itch".
    - The 1964 Earthquake did significant damage to many costal towns including Whittier, Seward, Homer, and Anchorage. Many of the buildings near the AirBnB you stayed at in Anchorage didnt originally have basements, but they do now because some buildings along 4th avenue downtown sunk into the ground during the earthquake.

Out of curiousity are Alaskan salaries higher than normal? Some of the prices Nicky & Claire have shown are so high compared to other places I've visited in USA (even NY/LA).

Jack Sprat was on the list actually, if more time, we would have liked to try out! I pronounce things wrong all the time😆

@@markcummings3146 I'm honestly not sure. I've spent all my working life in Anchorage working for a small family business, so its hard for me to compare.

Wow! What a great video. The scenery and drone footage keeps getting better and better. Loved the animal preserve how close up you can get. Especially when its like your walking the bear. great views from the tram up the mountains. very cool. loved the one way tunnel to Whittier. That must have been something to see. can't wait for that train ride.

Hi N&C - Stunning scenery, amazing drone footage! That roll was insane - bigger than any Cinabon I've ever seen!🍩 The views from the tram was breathtaking. The wildlife animals at the sanctuary were amazing - it's hard to believe how massive they are!🐃🦌 I would be worried that a vehicle might breakdown in the tunnel - quite a feat of engineering. 🌉 Thanks for another incredible adventure guys - hugs to you both!!! Cheers!!!😎❤🍻

Before the Whittier Tunnel was modified to allow car traffic, if you wanted to get your car to Whittier you would drive it onto a flatbed of the train in Portage, off the Seward Highway, and then drive off in Whittier (or vice versa). You could also get on a regular train car as a foot passenger.

Been fairly hot lately where I am, high 90s-low 100s. Imagining the Alaskan chill. So where do the snacks cost more, Crow Creek or a Vegas hotel gift shop? Loved seeing the animals. Definitely this city boy’s preferred way to walk with bears. Whittier gave me The Last of Us vibes. I don’t know if I would have walked through that tunnel. Guess I don’t have that “adventfurmage” spirit. Looking forward to a first-class train ride. Thanks Nicky and Claire.
