Halloween 2018 is my favorite, it showed how strong Laurie has become of the years and how that fateful night in 1978 turned her into a paranoid grandmother. I love H2 as well, but I love H2018 a teeny bit.
Halloween 2018 is by far the better sequel. It gives more depth to Laurie and what PTSD can do to a person. Michael was stripped of all his humanity which made the killings that much scarier. The comedy also balanced the movie out so that it was just great. 9/10 for me.
The 2018 mask is probably the best looking since the first. Some of the others look horrible seeing them head on and up close in bright lighting like this, but I didn't notice the differences whenever I watched the movies. I guess I just never payed enough attention.

I agree! Dick Warlock’s Michael is the best of the franchise and that’s the reason I would give a slight edge to 1981’s Halloween 2 over the 2018 film. Warlock brought such an eerie patience to MIchael that no other actor has been able to match. It was almost robotic and I loved it. Gotta get me that H2 mask.

Michael Myers It was the same mask from H1. The actor made it look different, since it wasn’t Nick Castle in the mask in H2. It was Dick Warlock, who was stockier than Castle. So that’s why Michael’s mask looks different.

Halloween II (1981) The best sequel and concludes the story without any sentimentality whatsoever. Halloween 2018 was very disappointing, it had the look and feel of a horror film like Scream, I know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend. The stupid plot involving the doctor nearly ruined the film for me and I felt it was rehashing 'The Curse Of Thorn' crap from Halloween 5 and 6. The opening title sequence was a parody of the 1978 original with an inflatable pumpkin which just made me laugh. Whats frustrating is that many fans are just automatically being subservient to the makers and going 'Fuck Halloween II! This is the NEW version!' The positives were like you state, they got Michael Myers right. Credit where credits due. The music was okay, John Carpenter has done far better in other scores. It was ok. Better than H5,6,H20 and the RZ crap. Even if it had been terrific, I would still prefer the 1981 sequel.
