So my question is, at the end of each season would I mow these back and till the the area, or simply mow them back and wait for the them to return next year? Or, do I just let them die back naturally and leave it alone? I would like to set aside about a 1/4 to 1/2 an acre of my land specifically for wildflowers to eventually accent a bee hive as I learn how to keep them.
This was great! Besides the beauty the information about overseeding and overplanting has been something I have wondered about for a long time. I thought you would have to dig- up perennials if you wanted other flowers in the same space over the spring, summer, and fall. You always hear about people digging- up their bulbs. So I can just broadcast the wildflower mix through- out without worrying about root systems from other plants. Scatter in November though? Im in SW Pa. Pretty sure Joe Pieweed is our state flower. Wild phlox grows like crazy here and the scent is heavenly. Tiger lilies, too. I just love when they start blooming everywhere.
Enjoyed this show. Alan, do you have many beds of what is known as ONLY NATIVE PLANTS? I'm a strong advocate of those plants. I enjoyed seeing your mixture of annuals with some natives. Appreciate you
You live like a maniac!!! Slow down or you're going mad , trust me. . Not everyone lives as you do .. many are slow and able to enjoy the beauty of life..

How about deer and weeds?
Those look exactly like my hummingbird mix. In a smaller bag of course.
