Those Opera singers dont even bother if the judges turn around or not. Its like they came down from the higher level just to have fun.
More like for exposure
Agreed.
well they freaking deserve it like dayum those are voices
I know right 😆
These are not opera singers. Do some research and learn the difference between opera and popera.
If you sing opera your already more impressive than the judges
@MechaGodzillaand you’re clearly too young to know what grammar is.........
JHud would like a word
I don't know who that is I don't listen to main stream music
If you sing opera you might wrong when enrolled to this type of contests. What can the judges teach you, really 🤣
@MechaGodzilla don't compare opera with Jennifer. Yes Jennifer is a very good singer but opera is on a whole another level.
If you can sing opera, you're already at a higher level than most singers today.
I totally agree.
True, but only the two who sang the Flower Duet were proper opera singers in this particular video.
Not true. Most of them are only are good at barking loud I´m afraid.
@@fezzik7619 I agree, one may imitate the operatic sound, but true opera requires certain singing technique that is on a different level.
@@fezzik7619 I was wondering about that!
Opera is one of the most under appreciated art forms today. These singers have far more talent than the judges. All of these singers have voices like angels.
I totally agree
They don't actually. The are not opera singers. NOT ONE!
@@margaretvignola4366 what kind of drugs are you on?
@@margaretvignola4366Is that really what you believe? As a lover of the opera, I feel like many of them could be operatic performers, granted some may need fine tuning, but to say the 2 girls performing that beautiful rendition of Lakme’s Flower Duet is not of operatic quality is ridiculous.
Judges don't hit the buzzer coz they are afraid as they don't have any knowledge to handle Opera arts. 💔

Many of them say "I can't work with that" which is really sad.
Opera is such an underrated and such an under-appreciated genre of music within the mainstream industry. This is the proof. Most of these celebrity coaches did not turn around for them. What a shame.
Agree
Yes I agree. Opera has always been one of my most favourite genre of music and the fact I practice a bit of opera because I just generally love opera singing 🤧😭✋
Maybe bcs most of them don't know what to do with opera singers in current mainstream industry and they can't improve what the opera singers already have
It's not underrated, it's very limited for a strict public. And those who sing opera most of the times can't sing anything else, they can't coach them. They'd have to bring unpopular coaches from metal bands like Tarja Turunen, Floor Jansen, Manuela Kraller or Simone Simons in order to take them out of that genre.
Productions are expensive to stage, so unfortunately the tickets can be very dear, but as this program demonstrate there are lots of talent around, who could be used for more modestly staged wonderful operas
I was not only blown away by the Thai girl's voice but her stage presence is contagious, she really enjoys what's she doing
She’s so cute too! 🥰
@@AndySaenz she an aria written for a male voice.... WTF?
@@margaretvignola4366 You're talking about the wrong asian woman. I think they mean the heavy girl who's song was something I've never heard before. But, to your point, the girl trying to sing Nessun Dorma proved why women should never try to sing a man's aria: no matter how good they are, their voice won't carry it off and it won't fit the story. Apparently the judges agree: not a single one of them turned for her. (And for anyone who is thinking that my comment is sexist, it goes the other way around, too. One of the most ridiculous things I've ever seen was a man singing "O Mio Babbino Caro." Preposterous!)
@@andhisband They didnt turn for Gemma bcs they couldnt, their teams were already full, the only one who could was the Hatter. You can see they very wanted to support her, at least the ladies.

But she still turned
Lolll
That was an honest humble statement from the judge
It is like a general doctor cannot teach a student to be a dentist
The Magic Flute is one of my favourites - Mozart shocked the opera world pushing the traditions. Sung in German (at a time when operas were only sung in Italian) and incorporating singing scale notes rather than words.
Far from easy and grossly underrated.
This young woman was the perfect person to push perceptions too!!!
Brilliant!
I guess these judges never heard of Symphonic Metal.
Opera singers are Beyond the Judges ability to coach them .
I agree in the main. I even think I heard one judge say "I don't know what I can do with this".
They have better singing voices than any other people. It has to be pitch perfect.
The problem is opera is not the theme of the show unless the performera can take their vocals into other genres otherwise it won't work.
Lennox I agree with you. It’s actually a special genre with its own educated audience.
Exactly what I though.
It's sad that the judges are so locked in to certain styles that they don't know what to do with someone with so much talent and skill. They don't seem to realize that anyone with voices this powerful are capable of a GREAT deal. Some of these opera singers are fantastic!
Except for Kelly Clarkson. She's been vocally trained in opera and knew what to do with the contestant she turned for.
They're not a smart and talented as they think they are. They also don't want to sound bad in comparison
Kelly and Jennifer both have opera/classical training. Jennifer has even performed a few opera pieces herself, they both have openly started their love for opera. And will in the first clip was going nuts..
@@isisgeorge3332 That's fantastic! I just wish they'd demonstrate their appreciation a little more often.
@@forliberty1805
And there is quite a bit to work with. While the lady did well on the Queen of the Night, she needs training on how to do the very high notes. She has yet to learn about how to shape the mouth to do those notes right. Now the ladies on the Flower duet, they were just sweet.
That third girls rendition of the Diva Damce was incredible. Gave me goosebumps! What a singer!
Not 100% "perfect" but that piece was originally written to be unsingable by humans, so the fact she even got close to it and still sounded amazing is impressive.
If you can sing opera, you can sing anything. These judges who say they “don’t know how to work with opera singers” are clueless.
they just dont want to ruin them by asking them to sing other genre I think. And they maybe think they are (the coaches) dont have the capability to train a classical
Not one of these contestants was a real opera singer, so what do you know.
Forcing them to sing another genre would ruin their training. They specifically trained to be an opera singer, not pop, not rock, not anything else but opera.
@@yogajedi3337 Could you be any more delusional?
Singing an opera song doesn’t make you an opera singer lol. I’ve taken voice lessons my whole life, several of which have been with professional opera singers, and I can sing MANY opera songs but am NOT an opera singer. Several of these people are definitely not opera singers... probably classically trained singers though ☺️

Seen a few and all were pretty impressive, though none QUITE nail every part of it because that piece was designed to be unsingable by humans.
MASSIVE respect to all opera singers. 👏
As an opera singer, it’s very much appreciated
There were no opera singers here. They were POP singers. They can't be called opera singers because they don't produce sound correctly. fact!
@@margaretvignola4366 this is also true

I was thinking exactly the same thing, so it must be
I actually cried when I heard it
Opera singers don't get the praise they deserve nowadays. They are looked over too easily. Such a shame.
I think part of the reason the judges don’t typically turn around for opera is that opera is very distinctive, and most musicians either can’t hit operatic high notes or aren’t trained to sing opera so it makes it difficult for them to train them
I agree! In the country where I am originated this type of voice or act doesnt appreciated or sometimes they make fun of it, coz for them its somekinda source of boredam.
We only have I think less than 10 local known opera singers with less album sales, with no more existing careers and frequently seen in entertainment shows and programs.😢
They get the recognition they deserve. Absolute nothing new of interest is happening in the genre. It
s the same incomprehensible tunes over and over again.
This is not the kind of music loved nowadays unfortunately...
Some singers like Dimash are making it more accessible for this modern era by mixing different styles while still keeping his classically trained voice and I love that...
He's what got me more interested in opera >
The problem with the voice is that these coaches have no idea what to do with opera singers which I find sad.
Same. The UK version needs Katherine Jenkins as a coach.
yup
@@nicolesauces30 Will I Am helping the first girl with the Paint It Black rendition was amazing, though. Her voice and his direction created such a great performance!
Kelly Clarkson has an opera singer on her team this season and she is very versatile. But Kelly was classically trained as the other coaches most likely were not.
That's what's telling us the art industry has gone worse.
Look at that power! Opera is so underrated, seriously...

Someone once told me that with Opera, one doesn't need to understand the language, but to feel the emotions, the ups the downs of the voice, let it takes you to heaven with the high notes, and down into the valley with the low notes. Just feel.
3:29 The Thai girl was amazing! I love her cover of the diva dance from 5th element!
My favorite one was the Thai girl covering the blue alien aria from the 5th element! She’s very talented! She has a lot of charisma and stage presence! And she’s a cutie pie too. I love her. 😍
Then we should have "THE VOICE OPERA" for them.
Maybe a better mix of judges. The same thing gets said about "Rockers"...
Maybe they need 6 judges with wider range of experience. Need to be able to cover whatever a performer can throw at them. X-FACTOR seems to have the right formula plus the "Got Talent" shows are better produced.
For instance, AGT, BGT and all the other "Got Talent" shows along with X-FACTOR...don't shy away from any talented performer...regardless of the talent.

That last girl singing an operatic rendition of Toxic by Britney Spears gives me Broadway vibes. There’s definitely a place for her in the performing arts world.
Aw thank you so much!! ☺️💕 that was/is my dream, however you need lots of money to pursue it to that degree, I couldn’t afford drama school, was going to cost around £300.00 to even travel to London and audition for ONE school, taking into consideration audition fees, train fare, hotel costs if you get a next day callback and call back fees, then you’ve got to magic up £13,000 per term for some places. Often you can’t even get in the audition room without a certain school under your belt. It’s a struggle, I’m vocal coaching a lot at the minute and auditioning/recording when I can. Don’t know if I’ll ever get to the big stages but I’m happy to go the long way round for as long as I can. X

The solution to this: Always have one judge who is an opera trained singer. I am sure many would love to be on that chair, as most of them are simply not famous by name. I agree with most comments and it is simply obvious that opera singers can sing pretty much anything. The vice versa is not the case!
I have to disagree - opera singers cannot automatically sing every other genre as if those were subordinated to opera. Which, of course, they`re not.
Yeah diana damrau. 🥰🥰
@@holgervoigt4315 That's not necessarily true. It's a LOT easier to sing Pop if you learn Classical first, than the other way around. Classical music laid the foundations for many other popular genres of music today, so some of the fundamentals included work well with other genres of music.
@@MagicalBread I`m not saying it has to be so. Part of the problem may be that there is no real definition as to what is pop and what not. The influence of traditional, i.e. folk music on pop is greater imho than classical. But I agree that a sound training at a conservatory will be of great use to pop artists.
Yeah but at the same time it's like putting a lot of difficulty in the competition and do mind this is set by country, how do you pit an opera singer against a country singer? It's like making a classic Disney film and make it compete with anything else, it just can't lose so easily
The clever ones are adding pop elements so. the coaches see something to work with. Beat drop at 0:39, run at 8:22. Many opera singers can also sing rock pretty well too. It's all about giving the judges something familiar to get that turn.
It’s a shame that most sing well worn music. I know they want to sing popular opera but there are many great songs we never hear

The Diva Song and the judges are great. I believe they're Thailand? They always turn fast for opera voices. And get so excited unlike the rest of the Voices.
Yes. She's from the voice Thailand.
I have never heard of that, the Diva Song?! Wow!
@@JuliaK-ve2rw Yup, it's from the Fifth Element. If I'm not mistaken the original singer had to sing the song in parts during the filming. It's an extremely difficult song to sing exactly like the film version as the singer has to basically jump through every note on the scale in very quick succession. The rendition that came the closest was from a Chinese opera singer and even then it was extremely taxing for her. I think she had to train for months in order to get the song perfect.
Loved her performance. If you love music then all genres are valid and opera isn't exclusive to the wealthy or well educated. Music is for everyone and a great voice is a gift to the soul.

I think most opera singers just come on the voice because it is a main stream show and can help promote opera. Most of the judges cannot work with classical musicians..
It doesn’t help the opera community at all. Some of these singers are not great, and the others need to focus on maybe working in the classical community. The truth is, if you’re a classically trainer singer worth your salt, you’ll find opportunities.
@@samanthastover6887 I kinda agree that some of them arent that great but I think, they somehow help promote opera in the mainstream.

The girl who sang the song from the fifth element was incredible!!! That song is just impossible to sing because of the weird jumps and because it is so odd tonally. I'm glad the judges appreciated it :)
In the fifth element some of the notes and cadences were produced electronically because the singer said they were impossible for the human voice. The electronics also produced a more "alien" sound which I think the director was going for.

If either of you have heard one closer I would love to listen to. I am a huge fan of the song and the attempt to recreate it.
@@billie-jobenway8658 I watched this video of Evgenyia Laguna about six months ago. Yes she is good but it was not purely human voice. Not my most favourite, sorry. If you listen carefully you can hear a lot of electronically produced notes between 4:00 and 4:20. I don't know whether this is because she can't sing the notes or because she is trying to reproduce closer to the original. Personally I think the latter is the case as I feel the whole production of this song was staged that way.
@@billie-jobenway8658 I don't know about closer - who is to say one interpretation is better than another. I think the quality of the voice is the thing whilst trying to reproduce this very difficult song. Inva Mula, the singer on the original film soundtrack is such a brilliant opera singer in her own right, it is difficult to make comparisons. However, here are a couple of singers who (allegedly) sang this song without electronically enhanced notes. I think that's the point. The first is an Armenian girl, oddly enough performing in Russia's (?) The Voice. Some of her lower notes are a little insecure in the operatic section but the rock section is excellent and not an electronic note in sight that I could discern. czcams.com/video/hmIeijo7s80/video.html. The second one is Jane Zang one of China's best sopranos. You will see that before the rock section she takes her ear piece out to show that she is not synced into any electronic notes. czcams.com/video/kJl2uPNsJEk/video.html. I hope the links work.
Did you know that the operatic section is actually from an Opera by Donizetti. The aria "I'll dolce suono", (The sweet sound) is from the "mad scene" of Lucia di Lammermoor.
The Flower Duet was just fantastic!!! And the last song "Toxic"...wow...like a movie score!!!!

Check out a band called "Nightwish" on You Tube. Just one thing - be ready for a "Florganism".
@@edstajk3681 I wanted to write the same, but i'm two days late 😅
Omg That's amazing!!! But people don't understand the beauty in it!!!
Floor Jansen!
@@edstajk3681 yeah. I've been listening to them. Nightwish is actually the reason why i fell in love with that kind of genre.
Respect for all those singers, they were too big for those contests.
I think im in Love in OPERA MUSIC so beautiful.😍
I’m glad we have Lea Salonga in the Voice Philippines ❤️ No one can beat her!
That first girl shattered the ceiling. Who can even try after her? Send everyone home.
Well, Opera Songs is my taste of music now. So calming and a good cultural reset🙆
If you're interested, I'd recommend watching the opera "Carmen". It is extremely iconic, and you might recognize a few of the songs! "The Magic Flute" is also really good.
Opera is so under appreciated, so thankyou.
@@MagicalBread thank you!!! I will watch it later❣️
@@MagicalBread listen to Il Volo ,those boys got it.
I highly recommend that you watch the CZcams channel of Sol3 Mio, three young guys from Samoa/New Zealand. They have Masters degrees in Opera Singing from the top opera academy in Wales. They include some popular songs in their repertoire and bring both humour and pathos into their performances. I think you’ll like them.
Listen to Maria Callas, she was one of the best opera singers ever. The people call her “La Divina” that means “the divine”. Hear her singing “Casta Diva” and “Habanera” :D
Alguém do Brasil, também teve um surto com a primeira apresentação? Meu Deus!!! Todos são perfeitos! Deus abençoes cada um.

@Catarina Uau!! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Fantástico só esses jurados aí que são meia tigela muitos deles não viraram quem entende de musicalidade qualquer um ali viraria com os primeiros tons dados pelos cantores e muitos deles não viraram
Blown away by Claudillea, the first video. Just gob smacked at how great her voice is
Most of the coaches didnt turn cuz they know the singers are too good for them, and they didnt know how they could coach such a talented singer.
There is also the possibility that these artists appeared late in the competition at which time many judges may have only one place left or none in their team.
In those cases, you see them really enjoying the performance but sadly they can't turn their chair because either their team is full or there are waiting for a very specific voice to complete their team.
You could see them saying that during the performance. The Queen of the Night girl was not really all that good for opera, but she was blowing minds from the pop world. But they all turned all the same. Now I want to know what happened later.
I hate how they miss out because the coaches are too scared to try and coach them
Taylor Chiasson gusuave007 they don’t coach you ☺️ they told us what we were singing for our battle, gave us a quick pep talk and sing through with the cameras, then sent us off to the actual vocal coaches hired by TV that you don’t see on camera. All a ruse haha, I saw Gavin for a grand total of about 45 mins 😂 smoke and mirrors mate.
@@RuthLockwood For real? Well, that's tv for you.
@@RuthLockwood OMGGG HIIIII
@@RuthLockwood is it really you?!?!!!
for real!!!
Wow. Wesley Seme sang phenomenal! He hit every single note with perfection!
The standard varies. However, a number of these singers are heavenly to listen to for those with a true appreciation of the human voice. That girl from Thailand does not have a prayer of ever becoming commercially successful, but her voice is absolutely angelic.
Opera singers are in a league of their own, they're a force to be reckoned with!!
Lost in the depressing mass of moderately talented no-hopers and Broadway fodder, Belle Voci's rendition of Delibes' Flower Duet was a wonderful demonstration of what operatic singing should really be. Beautiful voices, obvious hard-work put into the technique, a real understanding of the beauty and complexity of a great duet, a great duet which is easy to wreck and very challenging to succeed. Belle Voci gave a memorable performance. Thank you for posting.
OMG I agree. I sang for many years, including Lakme and Queen of the Night, and all but the duet were...no.
The way the "Pop Opera" girl doing Toxic sung was just so mesmerizing and I don't know why
Oh my goodness, I enjoyed all of the auditions! The show is called The Voice for a reason. So many amazing voices that should have had a 4 chair turn. The judges need to up their game and learn how to work with these incredible opera singers too! This is "The Voice," after all! Btw, Will.i.am's reaction to not being able to turn his chair for the first opera/pop singer, was hilariously priceless!
I’m italian and all sing very good , simg in Italian is not easy for foreigners
Well, she’s singing in German
@@katupchurch but only the first sing in german
Klo
Mm mo
Lambreeeeeeee
These opera singers have more talent than all the 'judges' put together, that's why they don't turn around!!
Yep, the judges are focus on pop or hip hop.. This opera singers are way above their ability
It’s wonderful to see people respond so enthusiastically to opera. It can grow on you. Bravo!
By the way, Wesley Seme was a finalist at the 2014 edition of the voice France, and he placed 4th :)
I've read the comments and most of them say "It's not commercial" "Who would watch 2/3 hours of Opera?" "Fat" ...
And I have noticed that the culture has gone down the drain.
Gentlemen, a few years ago, there was a trio of tenors, Lucciano Pavarotti, José Carreras and Plácido Domingo, who filled stadiums, summoned MILLIONS of spectators in the WORLD ... And nobody cared if they were fat, short, bald or what . . . . We were going to hear their beautiful voices.
Here the excuse is not that they are not commercial, it is that people prefer to pay for people who sing about how to subdue a woman or ass... And they call that culture.
I'm with you
Very well said.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Honestly you can't miss the shallowness of the arts world today. Nobody can make a career anymore without being beautiful/handsome as if capacities or talents were delivered in a cocoon of beauty everytime. Just look at the judges reaction when they turn expecting something and are served something else, it's a shame. We should recognize talent for what it is instead of caring about looks when it doesn't guarantee any quality. In movies I can understand not wanting to spend hours watching someone you don't find appealing but it doesn't have to come before actual talent. In music it's obvious voice should be the first parameter and it's not. Learning people like Lady Gaga or Freddie Mercury had a hard time making a career because of their nose or their teeth is heartbreaking. It is even more outrageous in literature where writers can be denied because their picture wouldn't look good on backcovers.
As the world is now governed by marketing we are now expected to like what society and social pressure tell us we should like based on beauty standards and norms. It's a shame to see culture, as you said, be reduced because the people who decide try to make money instead of creating art.
Exactly
You are SO right !! I hate these stupid heads of the judges, looking if they see water on fire...not knowing how to judge these supertalents...
The coaches not turning to The Queen of the night.🙄😯
she was one of the last to perform, Will and Tom were with the full teams
She was excellent too! I've listen to many, many versions of that aria and she was up amongst the best of them.
yes
Are you blind?Check again! Two of them did.
I know, She was amazing.
WONDERFUL!!!!! La chica de rasgos asiáticos en Nessun Dorma es Increiblemente maravillosa. Desde el comienzo impresiona con el tono en que parte y lo limpio de sus sonido. Qué capacidad!
That duet! Instant goosebumps
Wow the Fleur Duet was so beautiful, amazing.
07/04/2020 Half of the world is in lockdown due to Covid-19, Just listening to the voices of theses people from all around the world shows the strength of the human spirit GOD BLESS EVERYONE

I'd be hard pressed to hit the button too, because all of these people are more talented than nearly all these coaches.
Боже мой,откуда они?С других планет?Фантастика!!!!Переполняют эмоции!❤💐🥰❤💐🥰👍👍👍👍👍
Wow... all I can say is wow.... opera is one of the most difficult genres to sing, you have to train your voice to sing like that.... I’m a singer myself been singing since I was a little girl.... and all I can say these singers are amazing they sing so beautifully!!! Congratulations to all of them and my respects God bless!!
