So yeah this video got deleted recently and seeing that by some miracle I got the mp3 file I decided that the people of youtube deserved to hear this great song.
Sun Ra was a futurist music cosmologist! He is about the most profound musician to date, John Coltrane was going into this landscape. NO ONE has a more DEEPER or FUTURISTIC INTROSPECTION on MUSIC THAN SUN RA! Personally as a spiritual human and a musician I cannot TOUCH SUN RA!
and remember folks , if you wear nifty spectacles like RA you not only get a spectacular view of the Eclipse , but you can watch the uncut version of ZARDOZ if Mother Nature does not cooperate
I grew up on music like this produced by musical masters who understood that we are just all travelers upon a celestial experience, our only roadmap.......collective hope ❤
Damn, i wish people would stop, listen and understand this guy. I didn't get him the first couple of years, but now i realise he has made the most interesting, unique and beautiful songs ever recorded. Unfortunately, most people will never appreciate music like this. Sad
these copyright holders are so unexplainable stupid. they don`t get it that to put up a movie on you tube is a great promotion for the artist . but they go:nahh it`s mine no no no it`s mine !!!! assholes!!!!! as if with an artist like sun ra which is one of the true masters (on one side) but on a commercial side not worth a penny.,is business to make . how stupid can one get. i put a lot of vids up from sun ra ,townies van zandt, nina simone etc. they all got deleted. as soon as i loose my parole status i put them back up.
The man was experimental for many casual jazz fans. Besides you can't exactly measure an artists greatness by the amount of radio play they get alone by that rule Nickleback is the greatest band in all the land
Thank you. Amir (3793) for your generous offering of this beautiful, poignant ballad. You have good taste. Sun Ra is so wonderful on a traditional piano. His poly chords are so expressive. I wonder if he used his own complex chordal configurations when he played with the popular Fletcher Henderson Orchestra in the '30's.
njdlondon2009 ... Perfectly said. Mr. Le Sonya Ra is one of the most important souls in the river of what is called Jazz (#BAM) and his contribution is nothing short of amazing and most transcendent in most every way.
Heard of this dude from a producer and studio engineer in Augusta. Sun-Ra was like the Ron L. Hubbard of music. I say this cause all of his published works.
just yesterday i heard first time that phenomenon ! that man for me is not just genius, is the number one of all times world music compozers . i feel too lucky that i discover him ...so late, better than never!
And I'm sent floating on a natural spiritual high. I'm in heaven thank God for these musicians and singers sent to life our consciousness. Beautiful music indeed.
Herbie Hancock is a man who knew what music was about, telling stories. The sky as a way of being a way to darkness & the eternal sea of darknesses what has a man to lose
If there were a magic moment during this journey, it would be the entering of the trumpet's first few note's.. makes me melt, every time! Not sure what galactic means, but I think this maybe it. Much Thnx
What the material world values does not shine the same in the truth of the soul. You have been interested in your shadow. Look instead directly at the sun. What can we know by just watching the time-and-space shapes of each other? Someone half awake in the night sees imaginary dangers; the morning star rises; the horizon grows defined; people become friends in a moving caravan. Night birds may think daybreak a kind of darkness, because that's all they know. It's a fortunate bird who's not intrigued with evening, who flies in the sun we call Shams.
@njclondon2009 I totally agree. Unfortuantely, for those people, they don't have the mental ability to stop and just listen. If they could, they would hear the beauty. They would get it, but they don't. It doesn't matter anyway because there are people out there, like you and I, that DO get it. Sun Ra was a gift to this world.
Muitas são as percepções e emoções provocadas por essa música , só conferir os comentários.... Pra mim é a entidade musica falando através do sun ra ele e sua abertura nos leva aonde gostariamis de estar ... E assim que curto esse som

He's so much in the future he's touching the past
He's the Almighty of Afrofuturism!
HEY IM BACK 🦉🔄
What a fine gem this tune. Drifting into darkness never sounded so elegant.

This is my favorite song. I'm not sure why I keep coming back to it.
Same. Maybe because it's timeless.

JAZZ IS MUSIC AND LIFE..that's how to understand it completely
Thanks for sharing this nugget from a goldmine (d) of music. My brother Juini Booth was a member of the Arkestra. A believer in Sun Ra's genius.

for me it's always so weird to think he is one year older than Billie Holiday, both are timeless though, dying to meet him.
BLESSED
reminds of Pharoah Sanders or Alice Coltrane's sublime jazz that takes you to heavenly heights, just so.... spiritual.
Excellent - yet another facet of the soul of Sun Ra. Smooth!
This is about as Consious as you can get musically..woah!

because they only promote big label records, most of what sun ra released was private pressing. also if you dont like it you can bounce.
I wondered where this went --- I’m glad it’s back!
