I Played 12 RANDOMIZED Games of Pokemon AT THE SAME TIME

- I attempted to beat 12 games of Pokemon Emerald at the exact same time. Except I randomized most of it! By pairing controls to each game, I had to navigate 12 separate characters that didn't always want to cooperate. How long will this take me? Watch the video to find out!
This is not a Nuzlocke, as you will see through my many failed battles. My only goal was to beat the game as fast as possible.
I randomized: starters, wild Pokemon, trainer Pokemon, movesets, abilities, and items. Everything else is vanilla Emerald.
One note: Around the Watson fight, my PC froze and I lost a few hours of progress. Rather than re-do everything, I recreated the save files to the best of my ability using PKHex. That's why all the trainer names are suddenly all the same!

Where do you think the 13th game finished? Let me know here before you get to the end!!!
I'd be surprised if it got to the rival fight, honestly.
I learned my lesson last time, second city
Bet it didn't even get to the first gym.
It definitely beat Steven and the entire Battle Frontier
Stuck in littleroot town or in route 1
When you inevitably do this again, You should randomize each of the games so that they are different from each other
Is this not crazy enough ? xD haha
I agree. But he should release them in segments so that he doesn't go crazy hahaha
@@be-silly Yeah, that would definitely be hard enough to warrant a series
one of them is pokemon emerals, one is darkest dungeon and one is elden ring.
@@MF-fd2ug jmagine: Walking through pokemon peacefully. Elden Ring: In flames

Honestly thought each 12 games had their own randomized seed. I guess it makes more sense, having every game running on the same seed; having the game randomized is already challenging enough.
…buuuuuuuuuut that being said, maybe an idea for a future video? Maybe not 12 games, but cut in half? Six seeds, six games running at once: the ultimate test
Lmao I thought they were all individually randomized and I was like "what are the odds he ends up with the same starter in so many of the games?!" before I figured it out.
And the hidden 7th game to see what it ends up with
I can’t stop laughing at the Tate and Liza “four legendaries” joke despite it being 2 seconds long
I read this joke in advance, saw it coming, and still also laughed really hard at it.
10/10.
Still harder than their actual fight lol
"Just kidding! They have a grimer and a psyduck. And a magikarp. :)"
I could hear the smiley face in your voice. That bit was hilarious. XD

~ Something to note about the universal randomizer, if that is what you were using, is that Shedinja will always be given Wonder Guard as a mercy rule for it. Otherwise, the Pokemon would be even more useless than it kinda already is.
Loved the video! It's cool to see this many different screens of gameplay as if it's like 12 different alternate timelines. You've got a like from me!
was about to say this
This one was way better than the previous runs because you had to use a lot of different Pokémon rather than just riding on your starters back for most of your run. Also liked how some runs had a kingler and one still had Krabby. Please keep doing these and keep the 13th game. If on the third time you have a 13th secret game and it does nothing, we know that it's not just bad luck, it's impossible to get out of the town without looking at the screen.
Next step, warp randomizer, 12 different seeds
👀
This would literally be sensory overload :-| I fear for the person who tries this.
That would basically be a 48-hour “speed run”, only counting the times he plays those games. The project itself may take a week or more given that even note taking would be useless because he may get his player trapped in an unworkable situation, so at best the first day will solely be to explore each thing and liberally reset just so that he could map a path to Groudon/Kyogre/Rayquaza/Ho-Oh/Lugia
And then he would basically pilot each game to Wallace or Steven, meaning that it would be a hellish tedium for him and no way to even make it interesting for us.
Great to see you posting again. Were you just busy lately or did the video took so long to make? It sounds like a nightmare to be quite honest. :D
Thank you!! I moved across the US, so my last two months have been mostly packing and unpacking.
@@Rylockes enjoy your new house!
@Rylockes I agree enjoy your new house
@@Rylockes Oh that's a mood. I'm in the middle of that right now.
Love this, immediately clicked on it when it came up in my feed and it did not disappoint! Your commentary is always spot on and you try the challenges my brain would dream up then and be left wondering what would happen!
Suggestion for future randomizations, maybe select the option to force fully evolved pokemon by level 40 or something so then all the elite four members are at least decent. If its 40, then all your games are at least still at the pokemon league if you lose a battle, so it shouldn't waste too much time but still give more satisfaction.
Also, maybe 360Chrism or Smallant would be interested in racing you with it. Great content by the way!
Doing 12 games at once takes too long to do a race. It would have to be 2 or 3 games maximum, or else it would take days or weeks, which is hard to organize in a collab.
Inspired by your videos, I played through 4 games of Pokemon Crystal Full Item Randomizer with 1 controller with each game on a different seed. It was quite the adventure as each game was running a different main pokemon and had a completely different path through the game. I ran into unexpected issues like one game having the Pokedex while the other 3 don't, so the menuing was more difficult.
If you end up doing a version of this with all different seeds, I'd recommend turning on full TM/HM compatibility so you don't run into the Fly issue again. I'd also recommend turning off the option that pokemon tend to learn moves of their types. Also I know your money situation wasn't exactly consistent, but don't underestimate the power of X items.
I would love to see this again but every game has different randomization.
Glad to see you back posting! I sure love your videos and videogame challenges you do!
came to like and comment after you explained the existence of the 13th game. Literally such creative and good content!!! Can't wait to see how it unfolds as i watch i feel like it'll be stuck in a wall lol. huge props to you bc this is sure to be a real headache of a challenge but suspenseful and exciting for us :)) keep making fire content!!
Funny and interesting video as always! Love having the unknown 13th game though part of me wishes we could see it whilst the rest of the games are running (but you couldn't see it at the time). I understand getting comments asking where it ended up is good for the algorithm though so don't feel like you need to change anything:)
These episodes are some of the best I’ve seen on any channel. Always a good day when another comes out!
Super happy to see a new upload, I love these vids in particular! I'm thinking the 13th game is probably lost in a route still and hasn't gotten a badge yet haha
This run had it all, it was challenging, interesting and very funny
I really enjoyed the video, keep it up!!
This was so so fun! Absolutely loved it.
I would love to see a 16 badge run of gen 2. Original or remake, doesn't matter.
Your content is always the highlight to my day. Thanks so much!
Did not expect the 13th game to go THAT abysmally
Always a joy to watch your videos!
This is excellent, looking forward to more of these
came to get ideas for a challenge i want to try and do a video on and stayed because i enjoy it. well done.
Got your video on recommended. Liked and subscribed, you are awesome
22:05 haha that’s not Steven!
Anyway, found your channel recently and I absolutely love the creativity as well as the humor and structure of these videos!
Yeaaah finnaly, I love this séries you could do this with a rom hack or just do randomized roms again but please do more of this series
Been waiting for this! This should be awesome
I wish every game was randomized differently.
Yeeeessss, I've been looking forward to this!
might be sensory overload but i'd like to see a chaotic randomized race with two players trying to see who can win with their 12 games first lol
Or getting 11 other Pokémon CZcamsrs and having them each take charge of one whilst having their Twitch chat take turns controlling the 13th slot?
But the CZcamsrs also don't know which ones they're controlling to make it more chaotic.
I like that idea
@@kleptrep94 An I also like your Idea
@@kleptrep94 Or what about this: 12 Twitch chats are controlling 12 different games, but which chat is controlling which game shuffles around at random intervals.
@@cullenhutchison6528 Yes that'd be so chaotic and such fun to watch.
Now do it where every game is randomized differently
This is a lot of fun to see! Though it does leave me wondering what it'd be like to play 12 Emerald Randomizers with each game running a different seed, maybe with the 13th game vanhilla? Just an idea, this video is already fun and I can't imagine what sort of nightmares would come about if the games didn't share the same seed!
Seed?
@@LeafeonTheCat It's a term used with some randomizers to refer to a specific randomization. It's used essentially to refer to a string of characters which helps determine RNG (so like in Minecraft the 'world seed' is a string of characters that when given to the game will generate the same world everytime). In the context here, 'seed' would refer to a single randomization of all the pokemon, moves, items, etc.
Oh, i thought they were all going to be different randomized files :(
Love that the total time ends up being roughly the same as playing the game 12 times in a row if you are really good.
This looks like absolute chaos, I love it.
If the next video isn't "I played 12 different randomized seeds at the same time" I'll be moderately disappointed.
ironic how maxie has an articuno and breloom despite in reality supporting fire types
Whoa only 33K views - shocked that this isn’t over a million. It’s undeniably appealing for Pokémon fans - I mean I watched the whole thing 😄 great job, and even some humor in there
Super sick content.
Nuzlocke 2 games at once next?
It would’ve been nice if all the games had a different seed, though that would’ve been chaos
This man’ll get big, I can already tell. I’ll be watching this hidden gem in the mean time!
Love this series bro!!!
I was kind of hoping all of them would be separately randomized so all the games would have different pokemon.
just imagine running through a couple of shiny Pokemon that would be extremely brutal
Sweet, I loved the idea of the secret 13th game. Glad it's back.
Never knew the move Grudge did that! Bummer!
That 13th hidden game tho XD
Great video!
Hi Rylockes, is there a tutorial on how to run multiple game instances with the same input? I would love to try doing this myself!
Pretty sure it doesn't randomize shedinja's ability to make it usable.
Yeah, I haven't seen a shedinja with a different ability ever in my randomizations.
But the randomized ability is sturdy
It in fact doesn't
You should make a video where each video is randomized differently but other than that I love these videos
Okay actually the 13th game running in the background and just seeing where it ends up is a genius idea just for the sake of "what will happen" lol
The 13th game is such a genius idea, but it might need to be tweaked in some way so that it doesn’t always get stuck right at the beginning
This concept is sooo cool
This is such a good challenge to watch lol
Next you should play five games at once, except it is a different game from the first five generations
Omg wild, but always enjoy these even if I could never lol
Love Your Channel :)
This is always very entertaining! How do you technically run multiple games at the same time with the same inputs?
can't wait for the 12 DIFFERENTLY randomized games of pokemon
You should have recorded the 13th game, and gave us a clip show of the interesting moments, like when it got its starter, or when it inevitable died, or when it leveled up, something more than, "Its still in littleroot"
I would like to see this with a different seed room randomizer. I think it would be a nice stream to watch for the 3 weeks it goes on for.
It would been even more fun if each game would been differently randomized xD
Man this was great
You should also randomize the exists and entries of each place, complete chaos 🤣
Idk why but I love the way he sounds so smug when he beats Tate and Liza
"LOOK AT ME BRENDAN! I TURNED MYSELF INTO APICKLE! I'M PICKLE YANMA!"
Interactions are good for getting you to 50k subs
yoooo ur back welcome back
Great video! Really curious about the setup for this! How did you configure this setup?
Love Your Videos
This is my mind every day
Now do it while each game is randomized with a different seed :P
Nah, I jest. Nice job!
I can't wait to see this done in other generations
I forgot that normal randomizers exist and went in thinking this is gonna be awful with random warps
should've used a different seed each game, would be much more fun with extra chaos imo
Giving every game the same randomizer seed seems like a huge missed opportunity
this man tortures himself for our entertainment, i like him
It'd be cool to make every game have identical inputs at the same time
This would be so much cooler if they were all different randomizations
"spooky ghosts make my pp go away"
aaaaaaaaaaaand subbed
I was genuinely worried for you when I started this video. I thought “12 different seeds? That’s going to be hellish!” But na, same seed just 12 different instances. Admittedly lesser in interest, but not bad. Watching someone play 12 games at once is never a bad time.
Each game randomized for themselves would be insane
When you do this again you should add the warp randomizer for more chaos
This challenge should have been a Nuzlocke in addition to everything else.
This is how I imagined ultra wormholes are like
If you do this again, put your most effective damage moves in one slot so they all kill and get the badge
I can't wait for "I nuzlocked 12 games of _______ at the same time"
Also, I believe that somehow, you'll get past the first town in the 13th game.
great video
you should do this again but nuzlocke all of them
My prediction:
At first I thought (13) would die immediately. But then I realized that it has the same problems as the other 12. Whenever one of them goes wrong you automatically fix (13) as well. And then I realized that happens only if it isn't the worst. (In the sense as having the most difficulties.) As soon as it doesn't make one important step, it's lost.
I bet this happens about when you enter petalburg woods.
Note: When I wrote this, I was at 1:25. So no idea how bad this challenge is going to be.
Imagine listening to the sound on all of the games 😂
This is the greatest idea can't believe you're not famous
I did this but with 10 games of og crystal, each randomized separately with slightly different settings, and it was a nuzlocke.
Also instead of having the games run side by side, they would trade out randomly every 5 seconds to 5 minutes
I played for 2 hours and hadn't even unlocked pokeballs yet so i gave it up, but i'd be glad to see anyone complete my challenge.
lmao the 13. game actually sure me allot!
No shot the 13th game gets past trying to talk to the boat guy
There should be a speedrun board for this challenge.
(22:29) But, you were out of Strength PP at 21:05, and you can't hit Misdreavus with Strength normally, so its Grudge couldn't have removed its PP. Either you simply wasted all your Strengths on Misdreavus in that game, and/or other foes had the Pressure ability, and/or they hit you with Grudge and/or Spite.
(24:09) Oh, it's got the normally-unused Cocophony ability. Neat.
I had guessed that the hidden 13th game would've at least made it to Rustboro, but it didn't even really get out of the starting town. Welp.
When you beat Pokémon emerald 12 times and 20 hours faster than my single game. 😂
