- Happy 40th Birthday BoRhap!!!! TRANSCRIPT HERE
October 1975: Kenny Everett airs Bohemian Rhapsody on his show on Radio Capital UK. A piece of history Queen fans can now listen to for the very first time.
These audio fragments are taken from a tape found among items once owned by Freddie Mercury and put up for auction in January 2015 by the house sitter of Garden Lodge - who was Jim Hutton's friend - after Freddie's death and before Mary Austin came in.
The tape was probably compiled and edited by Kenny Everett and then sent back to Freddie. I didn't do any adjustments.
Here's the transcription of the audio:

It's 6 minutes worth of absolute orgy of sound, so stand by for that it's coming
up in about 5 minutes.
Here's a selection of some of their older stuff from their just-got-old LP, stand by for their new one on this channel next week.
Plays Brighton Rock/Leroy Brown
OK. You don't have to buy the LP now, those are all the best bits but there's a new one around the corner and we shall bring you that first, infact we have their new single, it's not even been pressed into wax yet, it's on tape and it's waiting for me to press the button which I shall do in about 5 minutes, okay...
Yes friends. Once more Capital Radio has said prrrrrrrr!!!, to the BBC and got itself
another exclusive scoop-eroonee - Yes friends, Freddie pressed it into my hot little hand
this very last night-ness, and he said "Go forth and be FAB Ken", so Ladies and Gentlemen,
for the first time anywhere in this Universe of ours, we present at this moment of time,
the new, Queen, single!
Plays Bo Rhap
Excuse me whilst I scrape myself off the ceiling.

3:04 and the magic was done ...
I can't believe we're able to listen to this 40 years on! Just imagine that first moment......nobody could have known what this would turn into.

How can you not love Kenny Everette ❤❤he played this 14 times in a weekend .
"For the first time anywhere in this Universe of ours"
Damn.
Didn't we all human kind owe to this man for what he did to Queen? If it wasn't because of Mr. Everett who played the song fourteen times over the weekend and then soon helping it became the number one in charts (according to Mr. Roger Taylor in an interview "Roger Taylor on Kenny Everett [13/12/2015] "), Bohemian Rhapsody nor Queen would never be found anywhere in the universe, but buried deep down along with all their talents... Thank you and God bless you, Mr. Everett.
i love and agree with this comment so much!

"Ladies and Ladies, for the first time ever, Bohemian Rhapsody"
I've been wondering for about 30 years if anyone had a copy of this legendary weekend of Queen/Bo Rap orgy on Capital Radio. It turns out Freddie had it all along!
think of how many people first heard this on the radio, got hooked to queen, and went to live aid. what a time
Apparently Ken would play snippets of the song before this and just say that his finger slipped before moving on to increase hype. Needless to say that when he did get to play it in full, he played it 14 times over the space of two shows
He also played it 36 times in one day
thank you so much Mr. Kenny Everett for what you've done with the band.
I never would have believed I'd get to hear this legendary piece of history. Kenny was really moved.
Kenny Everett, a genius!
Kenny: That's the modern version of Beethoven.."
Happy birthday to the world's most innovative and groundbreaking songs in history :-D :-D :-D :-D
Major goosebumps even though I've heard this magnificent song many times. :-)
I can't believe it's been 40 years.
"My spine's turn into custard" LOL.....
Thank you thank you the genius that was Kenny Everett! I remember this day so well Saturday lunchtime - Capital Radio I was 16 years old and waiting to hear the new single from Queen ----- it didnt disappoint!
3:03 < this part literally just...
Wait for it.........
🎶 *sent shivers down my spine* 🎶
Imagine if Everett played the wrong side
3:30 "scuse me while I scrape myself off the ceiling."
You are excused, Kenny 🤧
Wow, that was a very special moment in tape, didn't know this existed! Excellent find!

Came searching whilst watching the film,CZcams is very special sometimes
Nearly 50 years on! I was just 3 when this first played. I remember the Kenny Everett TV show from my younger days.
And don't forget that when the ANATO show opened it was KE's taped voice that gave the intro.
I'm very close to meeting them both and I'm very excited.
thanks to Kenny, we know queen
Kenny played this massively long track more than a dozen times over a weekend before anyone else would touch it on the radio, but as Kenny would say, "nothing is too long" 🙄 RIP Kenny&Freddy
The year I was born .. i was about 6 months old roughly 🎉And what a year to be born .. #proud
If it had been edited by Ken the quality would be better, because he would have recorded it off the desk
I CAN DIE WITH LOVE
This has been put together beautifully, just as we would have done then with our cassette recorders. If Bohemian Rhapsody had been released in 2015, I fear it would not have got on any playlists as the likes of George Ergatoudis would have decided it wasn't relevant to his target audience.
Grazie.
Kenny Everett, dio alerta al mundo de esta obra de arte del siglo XX, BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY.
QUEEN, absolutamente brillantes, magistrales. Freddie's live forever.
