There actually was a potato restaurant featured in Kitchen Nightmares called "The Hot Potato Café" that served everything potato. Baked potatoes, fries, potato soup, shepherd's pie etc. The idea is really cool, but the execution was terrible.

I downloaded this restaurant a while ago, actually. I thought it was funny and I placed it in my game. That night my sim took her cute neighbor to this restaurant for their first date. I found it oddly charming so I kept bringing them back for weekly dates and eventually they got engaged at that restaurant! Then I got my sim to make baked potatoes for the wedding reception.

We have this fries place where I live and the prized potato is pretty much what they do. They pick a "potato of the week" (usually one that is oddly shaped) and display it for the customers to ponder while they're waiting for their fries 😂

In France we have "la pataterie" "patate" meaning potatoe. It's a family restaurant based on potatoes. We find them in different cities.

We have one in Canada called New York Fries, it’s pretty common in malls, and another called Smoke’s poutinerie (they serve a bunch of crazy poutine variations)
There was a restaurant in my college town that served nothing but intense loaded baked potatoes. They were huge, and there were so many flavors, like from country fried chicken to Mac and cheese.
I had one too! Called Spud Ranch. It was so good!

As a restaurant manager, this build is my worst nightmare. It makes me want to go in (on my precious day off) and deep clean the kitchen at work.
Fun Fact! When I worked in France, the small town I was living/working in actually had an all-potatoes-restaurant and it was great!! (think like every dish had a potato component: mashed, fries, fritters, baked, ...)

Also fun dine out note, I find that bigger tables actually do work pretty well with Carl's Better Dining Mod. It just makes the whole pack fun and actually functional. When I just had the pack unmodded I struggled so hard to even get 3 sims to seat down and eat. However I can bring 6 or more sims to a restaurant now with the mod and it works pretty well (all things considered for the sims)

this was a really great build! Love the filthy kitchen and bathroom. Also, I'm so happy they added public changing stations because they really help bathrooms feel more real now on public lots. I don't know if I've ever been to a public restroom that doesn't have a changing station in the female bathroom irl.

It's funny to have a potato themed restaurant. In real life we have a potato restaurant in the next bigger city from my hometown. And I love this place, their food is so good and quiet everything with potatoes, even some drinks. And its name translate to potato crate (it's Kartoffelkiste in German)😂

I live in a city that's famous for it's potatoes (Poznań) and there are several restaurants that only serve potato dishes. Baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, potato pancakes, potato casseroles, you name it. And it's all DELICIOUS.
Now that I think about it, Poznań could be called Potato City - even the biggest fantasy convention here is called (in loose translation) PotatoCon
When I build restaurants I'll include party rooms / private rooms with 6 seater tables. Helps w gameplay too since the sims aren't in the same room with a ton of chatty patrons.

Fun fact- there is a potato and apple themed restaurant in Vienna called Erdäpfel und Äpfel- at least when I was last there everything on the menu was either apple or potato (Erdäpfel) related !
In France we have a potato's chain restaurant. And the concept is really just eat potatos. It's named "La pataterie" and it's pretty good

actually in the czech republic where i live is this fast food brand called faency fries and they make homemade fries from fresh potatoes and they have this thing called "potato of the week" where they put a random interesting potato on the wall for everyone to see so i think you weren't so far off from the potato thing on the wall haha!
The green accents are just potatoes that have been exposed to too much light, so it’s solanin accents😊
The “prized potato” makes me think of how in the local town museum, we have the world’s oldest ham and world’s largest peanut in a display side by side.
In Sweden there is a roundabout with a huge potato statue, just search “Mjolby roundabout” and it will come up:) and during the winter they dress the potato to look like a Christmas-pig, very odd but fun

Carls dineout mod has made dineout playable and so much fun. Before, I couldn’t use dineout at all. If I actually managed to get my sim seated and order taken, the food would never come. But with the mod it’s pretty smooth. I say this because with that mod, it is easy to visit a restaurant with large parties.

the nasty kitchen and bathroom is the most realistic part of this build. Even the dumpster is very realistic. I use to work in fast food and we all did not like throwing the trash out at the dumpster because of all the cockroaches there would be at night lmao
There's restaurants here on the Gold Coast and all over Australia called Mr Potato. They only sell potatoes and its actually really good!

Simsie you will be pleased to know that there is actually a potato themed restaurant in real life. Here in Tennessee specifically Madison Tennessee there's a restaurant in the mall called One Spunky Spud. Literally their entire menu is all different ways you can have a baked potato!
My papa repairs things like freezers and fryers in restaurants and he said it’s very common to see kitchens that are very gross

There’s something oddly satisfying about building junky/trashy lots and rooms. I guess it’s because it adds a touch of realism to the game and some backstory to the lot or the Sim who lives there.
We have a potato restraunt called potato factory and I believe there is a place called spuds. Huge potatos and several options for toppings!
In my hometown in Germany, there is a restaurant that focuses on potatos. It's amazing, they have a massive menue and it's soo well executed! I absolutely love going there!!
About the tables in sims resaturants:
I love making family gatherings in restaurants, so when I'm building one I just add a special ''party room'' with a big big table (that's what restaurants in my hometown irl do as well, that's where the idea came from!)
I personally like to take the whole family to restaurant in christmas. It takes whole day, but I think it is cute..
It’s like this restaurant is a metaphor about how you felt about the actual potato city. The dining area is there to trick you into thinking it’s a good restaurant/you thinking the actual potato city is going to be amazing. Then the kitchen is all dirty and messy/you going to potato city and finding out it’s horrible.

ok but a potato themed restaurant would literally be my dream. latkes, paczkis, yams, ubes, fries, hashbrowns, au gratin, potato salad, pierogis, potato gnocchi soup, aloo sabzi. potatoes are hella cheap and easy to produce too, this is a brilliant idea.
There's a potato only restaurant in savannah georgia called spudniks they only have twice baked potato bowls so if you're ever in the area go get yourself a potato it's literally my favorite restaurant in town
In the uk don’t know if we still have it but we had spud-U-like they only served jacket potatoes. It was great!

i used to work in a real potato restaurant and they had almost only potato dishes. i had to peel literal of BUCKETS of potatos it was no fun
I love how she talks about a place that sells potato’s when there is literally a place an hour from me called Spudz that is literally just a potato restaurant and you can get all kinds of potato things.
My Sims will sometimes invites a few friends to join them at a restaurant, so six seaters definitely works for me.
