as per usual, the thumbnail is NOT part of the list...
Yeah, do you know what it is?
@@woodrailking sadly no, it looks like out of a steampunk world
😆
Click bait. Actually, it is a 1929 Majestic.
@@fredtracy3931 cool, thanks!
The pictures of Mcqueen show him on a Triumph....the 68 t120 bonneville being MY favorite bike of all time.
Owned a few, may get another.
McQueen did own a Indian it was bought by pawn shop
I had a 1973 750 Bonneville, great bike....
Funny, Steve's fav bike was the Excelsior but he must not have been able to find a photo of him riding it? Hmmm
@@notwocdivad Did you hear the nonsense at the end?
“Whilst McQueen owning a Super X helped with sales…” WHAT?
Whoever wrote this script needs to be spoken with in stern language. Utterly ridiculous.
The Indian Chief looks like the best out of these bikes in terms of comfort and speed.
Agreed.
What vintage needs to be ones most adaptive to a variety of needs or trends in a bid to remain its presence in any public archive. Products remind of the good old days could be on the top of technology once meeting benchmarks related to the environment.
Can't believe you didn't feature the HARLEY Davidson Aermachii SS 250s of 67-69 as they DOMINATED the World Grand Prix circuits..
I loved looking at these old motorbikes, they have come a long way😊🏍
Interesting. I learned a little bit about vintage motorcycles.
I hope not. The guy has no idea what he’s talking about.
absolutely brilliant thank you for posting this
You can tell it's an American list. Yawn!!!
I had a couple of these bikes but my question is, Where the hell was the bike in the thumbnail that made me watch this whole bloody video???
Notable bikes missing from your list are the Scott (there was 1 in the background of one of the videos). The classic was the 1927 Scott Flying Squirrel, which was the road version of the 1926 Isle of Man race winner. The Suzuki RE5 rotary engined bike is also worthy of the cool title.
So is Evel Knievel's rocket bike...
even though it malfunctioned.
And the BSA Gold Star.
Avery fantastic video 📸 thank you.😎🆒
Old School ! Super Cool!
I loved both of my 750 fours
Glad you included the 1969 Honda Mini Trail! The BMW emblem is a spinning prop from there early days.
*their
The Blue and White quadrants of the BMW logo has nothing to do with propellers. It is simply the colours of BMW's home state of Bavaria.
Was it too much trouble to include the bike in the Thumbnail ?
steve macqueen is on a triumph
No Triumph Bonneville ? I’m surprised, video has many great bikes !
Both of the pictures of Steve McQueen have him sitting on a Triumph motorcycle
@@1oldsurfdude lol
16:04 ~ *Steve McQueen om a super X. Only he's on a Triumph, dummy!*
We all know the cool guys all rode Triumphs
I’m pretty sure the picture you’re showing of Steve McQueen, he’s sitting on a Triumph motorcycle. Not a Super X.
The Yamaha 250 cc triple two- stroke was a smoker as well as Suzuki's 750 triple ! The list is longer but I feel that the KZ 900 and Kawasaki's 1300 inline 6 deserves mention ! The last one we clocked at 205 mph !
Yeah definitely a TON of two strokes and also many other pre war bikes as well
1979 KZ 900 should probably be on the list
The Indian Chief is everything that defines a motorcycle.
@13:11 is one of if not the most beautiful motorcycle ever built....
The Yamaha RD 350 - 400 was the greatest middleweight of all time
S McQ owned more Triumphs than any other movie star ever, he insisted that they would be THE bike in any movie he did that had a bike in it(he even had them written into the script of some films), even The Great Escape, it wasn't a BMW or DKW that did the jump it was a modified Triumph ridden by Bud Edkins.
Fyi he also dressed as a German troop & chased his character Hiltz in his bid for freedom.
1969 Kawasaki mach 3 500 cc. was a serious 1 st. A bit surprised it was not mentioned . Perhaps in a expanded list of 20 .
BMW is very clean arrangement of the engin, clean cool mechine
The 20th Century bikes reach me on such a primal level. I see them and they look "right". They look as if they weren't made by man, but born into a species of their own and interact with us like horses and dogs. There is just something so perfect about every line from any angle. Then again, look how ornate the automobiles were, too compared to now where it's basically a $60k phone.
In my opinion the 1936 knucklehead should have been included in this list it was the first production for the public that did over a hundred Straight Out of the Box
Good list. The most popular Honda though is the 50cc "girls bike." They are still selling millions of them yearly. They're cheap and fun.
#Excelente!
I've heard it said, if ya want a toy to play with a Kowalski or a Subaru are great. If ya need a sturdy dependable bike to get you there and back a Honda can do it.
But if you're on it for the ride, only a Harley Davidson will satisfy your need.
At least for me, and I believe my generation will agree.
Kowalski, Subaru???
@@Harold710 sorry I'm a lousy speller.
@@Harold710 , ya say them like I spelled them, but I can't spell worth a hoot. Lol
My comment is about my generation not about vintage.
@@Harold710 Kawasaki and Suzuki.
The motorbikes displayed are really cool and interesting, friends, motorbikes like this must be very expensive now...
nice 👍
Nice Speedo meter for a 1937 bike...led and stuff!!!😉
I love the Sportster.
The end of that Fireblades throttle looks like it's seen the pavement a few times.
One day the ninja h2r will be on a list like this too... the first hitting the 400kmh mark
Where was the wwii Norton commando. I purchased 2 of them Mil surplus @$50 each back in the 60s. Very hot bike and what a cruiser
Military surplus Commando in the '60s? The Commando started production in '68!
You might be thinking of the 16H, which was used by the British Army during WW2 mostly as a despatch rider bike.
1923 shaft driven, impressive.
I don't want any of these. I just want that very first crazy cool one you see in the thumbnail photo.
LOL )) SB-2 M-100 in line vintage motorcycles... good company )))
One of the most beautiful motorcycles ever built was the 1938 Crocker. 1-1-2023
My uncle brought the Black Shadow over from England while he was in the Navy
The narrator sounds like the Charlie Sheen...
Please don't make the mistake of thinking a Road bike is anything like a Works built Race bike, they may have the same capacity but the power they put out & the way it is delivered is totally different, both the FireBlade & the 916 are spectacular bikes, but the track versions are monsters & definitely not for the faint of heart, but in the hands of a standout rider, they are something else completely.
My friend had a z50, in 1970s Brooklyn.
Okay....
My personal favorite is the Iver Johnson
This video is not complete without honoring the first bike called a super bike. The king. The Kawasaki Z1.
Not to mention 750 three 2 stroke
No 1, the excelsior. You kept saying how Steve McQueen had one and rode it everywhere, but kept showing him on a Triumph . Can't have ridden it in front of any paparazzi . Just the Triumph ?
Its worth noting the black shadow is still in the top twenty fastest bikes ever
the blur of the landscape, every nerve aware doing one forty-six on my nineteen eighty-four fj eleven hundred
Stanley Woods, a great Irish rider
Am pretty sure you havnt ridden most of not any of em!... try some and try a Royal Enfield

@@ChrisKane- Amen brother.
Forgot about the good old pope motorcycle .
top 15 bikes, and no mention of the Triumph Bonneville, it beggers belief
Things must have changed greatly.
1994s is now vintage.
Bit confusing about #15 as McQueen is aboard his Triumph Bonneville.
the trump was used to tow the excelsior..
Could you make one of just street bikes?
Akira's bike!!!
You knew that you just wanted to see if anyone else did!
What "today" BMW car has shaft drive. Or any car? As Brian asks, what about that Scott or Suzuki Rotary?
Two brands should be referred no ? BSR ?? Triumph ? eventually Zundapp and Floreth ?
May 13, 1935 T.E. Lawrence was fatally injured on his Brough Superior SS100. He died from a head injury on May 19, 1935 at 46 years old. His death led to the helmets we should all wear today.
The bike & speedometer shown at 1:55 IS NOT the 1935 Brough Superior, unless it’s cutting edge technology included a digital display, hydraulic brakes and clutch… Now THAT would be truly amazing for ANY bike in the 1930s… what you are showing is a modern Brough, a completely different bike, and nothing to do with the original other than the name. C’mon, guys- you can do better than that…
My uncle had a Black Shadow.
the black lightling was bike you were talking about
Steve is riding a Triumph
Go check out the, Glideacycle, 1937 to 1942, some actually made one electric motorbike
Did anyone else notice the bike in the thumbnail is not in the video?
Simple history
Guess my Harley Davidson WL 45 didn't make the list
What is that thing on the left side of the super x (, little red gear on bigger black gear) what is that thing??? Is there no photos of McQueen on his super x ?? And how many dum questions am I allowed???
BM3 R32 is definitely the coolest.
so your just going to skip the 1979 yamaha 11 special?? the first production motorcycle capable of a 10 second quarter mile?.. kinda voids your list.
The thumbnail is a 1930 majestic fyi
概ね納得のランキングだけど、付け加えたい。
DKW RT125
NSU Max
Triunph Bonneville T120
これらは日本の目標であった。日本車からは、
Honda Super Cub
Yamaha XT500
Suzuki RG racer
Kawasaki Z1 and W650
どれも後に大きな影響を与えたと思う。
The SS100 wasn't that popular due to the fact it cost as much as some houses in Britain at that time. & I get the feeling that Honda is the most well known name in the motorcycle world.
👍
What's a Harley Davidson?
The close-up of a Brough speedometer at 1.55 is actually from the (blasphemous) modern recreation. The green electric neutral lamp is a dead giveaway, as is the generally hideous design (they even got the speedo wrong, along with everything else about the bike).
11:21 Here's an idea: Don't get any ideas
Had to laugh at the 'WW2' footage showing a GI and a German soldier laughing and joking - obviously from a modern re-enactment, but rendered in black and white in the hope we wouldn't notice. What makes you think someone watching a video about old motorcycles isn't going to notice something that crass? Isn't there enough real footage out there without having to stoop so so low?
Why the hell include the HD Sportster?
Only interesting in the USA
this is just an OK list.. needs fact checking.. the brough superior ss100 was made to go over 160mph (the land speed motorcycle records by eric fernihough. in the 1930s) >> and lots of japanese bikes have been overlooked ..
Hayabusa...not vintage yet...but the best 👌
i wonder how fast the monkey honda bike would go with a full bubble fairing
You know that motorcycle that much call it was right in there. Steve McQueen that was a triumph to you was riding set a super ux. You can tell about a gas tank badging.
Nor did my 1965 FLH Harley Davidson
you missed the 1966 450 Honda.
I had a 1986 HONDA INTERCEPTER,it would easyly go 170 mph,and that wasn't full power,Nothing I raced ever would beat it,including highway patrol or helicopters.....
No Nimbus ?
They should be called a STEEL HORSE
Suzuki GS750 is missing from the list
But you kept showing McQueen on his Triumph ! WTF ?
The first Honda 750 were sandcast engine because they weren't sure they would be sellable because everybody wanted their 350 twins nobody bought their 450 twins for every 1450 twin they would sell 6350 twins they saw it might be too big and it would piss off their customers which is why they did not invest in the production capacity to make diecast engines they wanted to put the least amount of investment in in case you turned out to be a sales failure this was the first spikes that if it blew up it was cheaper to buy another one then fix it
🐱👍🏿
Would like to have learned about the clickbait thumbnail bike....
Would've been ncie to see the correct Magni bike.
You americans always put american bikes. first . Crap
How did Steve McQueen help Indian sales when they went out of business in 1953 well before he was famous?
That's what kind of misinformation you get from some geek that uploads a video on CZcams. 🤔
by getting arrested for drug consumption on the excelsior i guess
