When I was learning one handed wheelies I started by quickly grabbing ahold of the radiator shroud after letting go of the bars. Makes you feel a little safer and gives you some control back. Then from there start letting of the shroud and before you know it’s not scary anymore.
Dope imma try that. I feel so unsteady w one hand lol

Couldn’t find a video anywhere else talking about why people put their foot under the peg. Thanks for explaining it. I’ve wheelied many motorcycles and know the balance point but I’m still getting used to using the back brake on big bikes. I have it down on pit bikes lol same concept though. Can’t wait to scrape fender

Its a funny world. My neighbor,(who has a pretty severe lisp) comes runnin over as I get home, and he is just overjoyed, has great news to share. (he is both a pain and a source of joy. I rode crotch rockets for a couple of years. I always preferred to do stand up wheelies. It's easier to go around curves and switch lanes
I used to do a LOT of wheelies on a yz 125 with no back brakes, That is how I got good. Riding a bike where I had to clutch it to do a wheelie and if I went too far not even down shifting it would bring it back. So my tips would be do them on a 2 stroke with no back brakes. You either get good or hurt.
I can no hand on my atv and foot drag.still fun to watch lol and if you can’t wrap your foot under peg shift lock

What chest guard do you use
I can do a 1 mile wheelie not all the way 1 hand but I can do 1 hand wheelies easy and easy going around curves. I dont currently have a back break and barely a front 1 but I'm having a new carburetor put on both new brakes and a new front wheel. And I can also easily switch gears. I ride a ttr 125 4 stroke I'm gonna sell it save up and get a 250 or 450

2 stroke can be 530 or higher look up 700cc 2stroke

Question its been on my mind are frame grips worth it im thinking about a set for my yz450f
Grips on the frame do help, but depending on the kind they can tear up gear quickly, holes in your riding pants. That said, they help, but not super necessary in my opinion.
The Mx Factory I just get no grip when I squeeze my 450 but I don’t have that issue on my 125, when I was at highpoint hitting the quad and just was having horrible time getting a grip when doing qualifying
hey guys not directly related to this video but cant find an answer anywhere online, so i bought a second hand bike and the throttle cables are mounted facing down under the bars and i notice every other bike has them mounted facing up, its an old bike 2008 so i figure its been together and apart a few times it all runs smooth and everything just wondering if it matters or not? can i just loosen them rotate and tighten then check the throttle responds properly/doesn't stick etc. cheers
Jack Miller as long as your throttle spins freely it’s no problem, you can loosen up the throttle tube clamp if you want and rotate it to where it’s on top, or look up year make and model and try to find the manual where it shows the schematic and cable routings
I agree with what Cam said, as long as your throttle works, it doesn’t matter where the housings are located. However, the only issue you may have is potentially hitting them in a turn with your leg up or hitting them on the ground when you fall. So I would suggest mourning the throttle housing on top of the bars versus the opposite, but as far as functionality you’re likely all good.
Friend used to scrape the rear fender from 120-130kph all the way down to like 5kph at one go. Fucking madness lol.

- LUCA- not hard just go up a hill and just pull back you’ll go up and can ride it out pretty long

When you're doing one-hander you should shift lock your foot
In first gear? That’s something you do for 2nd up we were doing slow 1st gear wheelies.
I prefer shift locking instead of the foot peg
How would you do that and remain in first gear? Seems like more of a second gear move, no?

I always wondered how the African-Americans doing one hand tricks without falling. Those guys are like the king of wheelies. They do all kinds of tricks that were never thought of or seen before.! So the whole foot under the peg all makes since now to how they do things.
Especially when they can do the no-handed wheelies. Blows my mind.
They seem to Always be on a 125 2-stroke from the videos I've seen. But I think it's having no protective gear that must make it easier for them. Or just being able to ride a dirtbike on public roads doing wheelies without getting arrested/impounded/ticketed. If I could take my bike to work everyday I'd be able to wheelie better then I could 10years ago

russellknight26 basically you just leave the shifter up when shifting so your foot is locked when doing a wheelie
Makes sense I have that issue sometimes going from 4th-5th doing wheelies still kinda think it's the transmission but probably just a combination of body position and stiff boots. Only happens sitting in wheelie mode.
