Why should one have to pay for a fund manager to buy
HDFCBANK, KOTAKBANK, ICICIBANK, RELIANCE, ITC, INFY, HINDUNILVR, TCS, LT, BAJAJAUTO.
Most of the Elss/large/flexi cap MF have these stocks with huge weightage.
Passive Nifty 50 will equally cover these with less expense ratio.
Active MF might be good only for small/mid cap opportunities, but with high risk high reward ratio.

The most important thing to consider is fund manager risk. In my opinion no one can always choose the best performing fund manager over a very long period say for 20 years. Let us say you got a fund selection wrong and underperformed the index for about 3 years, then all the alpha generated vanishes.
Well stated. I'm aware of a CZcams channel that advises retail investors against active mutual funds. However, it seems contradictory when they discourage purchasing active mutual funds yet continue to offer stock tips. This appears hypocritical.

How can we find that 20% active fund manager ? It is tough. So just beating inflation with 300 to 400 basis point with index fund is more safe I guess in my personal opinion for the people do not want to take any risk

Their business model is the answer to your point. My lifetime experience is that we have been able to make more than index returns in active strategy. They probably haven't achieved that for themselves or for others.
