So happy to hear Grizz is getting better. I lost my dog in July to bone cancer and miss her every day. Watching you and Grizz always puts a smile on my face.
My dog n I lost our best fur friend to bone cancer a couple years ago. It happened so quickly it was hard to digest. I'm so sorry for your loss.

So glad Grizz got to get out in the wild for a bit. I feel better knowing he's doing well. Hopefully his body will soon rid itself of residual debris via drainage! Prayers for that boy!!!
It honestly looks like his body's doing the works itself while we wait for referral! Here's hoping we may not even need anything by the time they get back to us! The abscess has changed in behaviour, the liquid is a bit different and the opening is different as well, and Grizz has been far more comfortable and far more active the past few weeks!!!! I've been doing hydrotherapy every day to wash everything well and using Manuka honey on the bandages to help draw out anything in there! Thanks for checking in!!
@@careenaalexis That's awesome! Sounds like you have a great plan.... The importance of hydro-therapy cannot be over-stated. Do it as often as you can until you cannot find the wound opening.....Good luck, and give Grizz a good ole ear rub from me!!! :0)
@@careenaalexis Good thoughts and positive energy to Griz and you guys. Have you tried any natural anti-inflammatory supplements, like Tumeric or Curcumin? I've had great results with this with my dogs. Check with your vet, I guess?

I'm new to the channel and had to skip around to see what happened to Grizz and then see his progress with recovery! Holy moly....the poor boy! What a love he is. He is absolutely adorable and it's so cute how you two are clearly best buds. I hope he continues to get better. There's no other connection like that between a human and their dog. I can totally relate to Griz and his injuries. Gus had cancer 3 years ago and I was devastated. He is cancer free for 3 years now. He just had a cyst removed from his front leg which has kept us home, but we'll be back out in the woods in the next week or so. Hug and love to Griz!
Griz is lucky to have a Momma who cares for and treats him as well as u do.

Happy to see you and Grizz outside! Don’t give up hope, I went through a long ordeal with my chocolate lab and we almost lost her eye. With the right help from Cornell and my vet we were able to save it thankfully. Took a long series of meds (4-6 different drops) multiple times throughout the day for months. Dogs are amazing creatures and can overcome great injuries. In the end I think a special plasma they made with blood really made the difference. Good luck!

Loved the setting of the video.
Have done the same in the late fall, on a little island in Whitefish Bay of Lake Superior. One difference was I used a float plane instead of a boat to access it. A fifteen minute flight puts me right at a wilderness Island on Lake Superior. Beautiful areas we live in.

Hi Lex. just got home from a problem of my own. Spent six weeks in Rehab. Big surprise for me.
I never have medical problems. A crazy infection took me out. Doing good now.
My second time in a hospital in 86 years. Pretty good record for sure. First time was in the Military a longtime ago.
Glad to see Griz is looking good! A little chilled but that is to be expected for now. He will be back 100% soon I'm sure.

Great to see Ol' Griz out and about. My year old Rottweiler loves to watch Griz. I tell her Griz is on and she comes over and jumps in my lap. Any day in the woods is better than a day at work. I plan on moving to the North West to the mountains snow and wilderness for the remaining of my life span. After watching Alexis outdoors adventures my hopes are up to maybe running across someone who resembles. From personal experience with dogs, make sure the fire is completely out and cold to the touch before burying it, even in sand. My dog smelt a hotdog buried in the sand and dug up a fire that wasn't properly put out by the previous guests. He received second degree burns on his snout and paws.
