In an earlier version, he performed this song, and he said something before he started to introduce this song. He said something along the lines of: "This is for when you feel like you are the smallest doll in a bubushka doll." Personally, i loved how succinct and detailed this analogy is to describe the feeling people get when they feel small, insignificant, and like nothing they do really matters anyway. Then this song comes in after, and really brings with it a message to just enjoy what you have whenever you can.
This is definitely 1 of my top performances of his, up there with Thank You God, Storm, White Wine in the Sun, and his speech for a graduating university class (i can't remember which university at the moment).
I requested this version because its higher than 240p.

I love Tim Minchin. He released an album in 2020 or 2021 and it's freaking amazing. It's called Apart Together. I highly recommend listening to it. Some of my favorite songs from it are...actually all of them lol
Yay! Tim is a wonderful. You should check out some of his recent stuff too like Airport Piano. It's a song about how acquiring more/ being more successful career wise doesn't necessarily make people happier because once you've achieved that level it becomes the new normal. It's partly why Tim doesn't pursue what's likely to get him the most money or make him more well known. He does what he wants.

Seen him live twice on his current tour in Melbourne and flew to Perth. Everything tim does is gold. Check out his autobiographical track from his latest album Talked too much, stayed too long. Also in october he released a track to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Sydney Opera house, Play it safe
I wish I could have seen his latest show more than once. It was brilliant.

I had never heard this one of his. I am such a big fan of him but I've only heard a small handful of his songs... and his Matilda musical was amazing 💛💛 This was such a sweet reaction to rewatch you loving this so much and getting so emotional over it.
