Last night I was watching Mobile Suit Gundam and I noticed my daughter was watching with me. So after the first episode, I said "Did you like it?" To which she replied, "No, not at all. I'm totally not gonna look it up and finish watching it." So I smiled and said "Let's watch episode 2" and we did...and we decided we will watch all the Gundam series together. Heaven knows it's a miracle whenever my teenager acknowledges my existence, let alone wants to do something with me. So I wanted to thank you, sir. 💗

That's awesome. Anime is already a tad niche but Gundam is even harder to get into, even for anime watchers. So it's really cool you and your daughter can watch it together.

Just finished my custom painted Dendrobium to match my RG collection. I feel this video so hard, I'm going to kitbash this kit as well as the HG GP02. Thanks for the motivation! The Dendro is a monster of a build, took me 8 months off and on.

great work papa gundam. i´ve been working on the PG GP01 for the last few months, i´m taking my time to add details like scribing new lines and adding details with styrene, this huge kit is old and has a ton of potential for extra detailing.
Hey gundam, did you try the vallejo-paints already? They have a ridicolous amount of colors, especially their model color line as well as their airbrush metal is awesome. Foundry is also very interesting, as they have their preconceived triad where there are complimentary paints setted together to get the different tones from basecoat to highlight.
I use Vallejo, but when it comes to metals I stick to lacquer for metal colors.
I wish the Zoids model lines got given the attention Gundam does. There's so many cool models that never got the justice they deserved and were kind of thrown to the side as toys instead of models. The HGMM versions are cool, but still lack that detail the Gundam models have, and there's just not enough of them. Can't wait to get my own place and have a model working area and just getting all the models I used to dream about as a kid. Your videos keep me going bro. Big ups.
I like how the gpo3 came out honestly. Even if you skipped out on the leg cameras it still looks really good.
It's weird that Bandai made:
- RG RX-78GP01 Gundam "Zephyranthes"
- RG RX-78GP01-Fb Gundam "Zephyranthes" Full Burnern
But for some reason, Bandai hasn't made:
- RG RX-78GP02A Gundam "Physalis"
- RG RX-78GP03S Gundam "Dendrobium Stamen"
Bandai has made HGs, MGs and SDs for these, but they haven't released an updated version even though those kits are super old. I'm sure fans of Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory would want updated kits; including an RG version.

I might be crazy but I always experiment with kitbashing using the Gundam Breaker game, then I see if I can try it with an SD first since they're relatively cheaper than the HGs before I choose what scale I want to work with.

Why do you not use mounting putty, wax or double sided tape on the feet to help with stability? For Magnets which are too big, put into a vice and Dremel grind them to size.

The paint job is great, I made model planes for years and tbh I can never get the paint right.
I just got done building the HG G-Self (perfect pack) really nice build for a HG but damn the backpack spoiler is flimsy, I snapped it and had to glue it back together with Tamiya Cement. Also, holy shit a lot of stickers, kinda stupid how many stickers it had.

I've read some people asking this before but I wanted to ask again in case you answer. Since you tried painting the pilot using the miniature painters' styles as reference, do you plan on doing any miniatures like WH40k or other table-top stuff? You can even try and go for blanchitsu stuff instead of paint for armies, which I really like the idea of and hope to get into it sometime

I mean like the main series protags/mascots that are first introduced to the series. Til they run out of those, they won't make side protags and such-
@@cryogenictendency4565 Gundam 00 only has 4 protagonist suits. They made like 50 variations of Exia, 00 and Quan-T in every scale meanwhile it took 13 Years to get a Master Grade of Dynames and 14 Years for Kyrios. How does that make any sense?

I can only follow instructions when building kits. Kit bashing is, like, an unknowable, evasive skill for me because of that.
This final version is basically magic to me and looks like it was a real kit all along. Papa Gundam is a Plastic Wizard.
