  • Don't get me wrong I loved my Squier baritone when I got it, but there was always a few things that bothered me such as no arm carve or belly cut and even know it grew on me I didn't love the 3 color sunburst. My goal with this project was to modernize and upgrade my baritone and I'm happy with the results so far.

Looking great so far! I tinker with painting guitars a little myself. I'm curious on your process. How many coats of paint & clear do you do, how long do you wait in between coats & how long to cure? I also have issues with paint running sometimes. Does your PVC rig there help with that? Keep up the good work brother! 🤘

I try to keep it few coats as i can on base coats depending on the temp I’m working in dry times will vary i it can be a couple hours to a couple days before i clear it as far as clear again depending on the temp im working in will judge times if im using 2k clear i try to do atleast 6 coats of clear so i have enough material to work with when it comes to level sanding and buffing i try to let the clear dry for a week to 2 weeks before i levelsand and buff but sometimes i get impatient . With metal flake paints i usually have to put a couple extra coats on since some flakes lay don’t lay down the best. I try to stick to materials and paints that everyone has access to soon ill be transitioning to using clear in a gun cause 2k cans of clear gets expensive.
