Of course I just commented that a lot of the songs on this show I’ve never heard before. The rock I live under must be bigger then I thought ,another one I know. Well anyhow this was very well done by them both. I hope I can do anything as well as he can sing when I’m in my 80s. Enjoy your reactions here again. Marco Bakker born in 1938! still performs with concerts. Shortly before the start of the recording of the program, Nick Schilder was asked to fill in for another singer. So he had very little time to prepare for the performances. Nick Schilder, Mel and Jan Smit, the presenter of the program, come from a well-known fishing village in the Netherlands, Volendam; You worked there in fishing or you were a singer. Their music is also known as "the eel sound". Several well-known singers come from it. Mel's grandfather, Piet Veerman, was a singer and guitarist with the famous band the Cats. Many Dutch people think lyrics in English sound better than in Dutch, but in Dutch can be very beautiful, as the best singers prove again and again. Waving their arms they show that there is a sense of community and a good atmosphere, certainly not condescendingly. 😊
I don't understand. Calling respected singers lighthouse keeper and lumberjack, but doing the wave is not polite? The concept of the program is to show what music does to you. This was an expression of love and friendship because they grow very close to each other during the recordings.
