Great video buddy! I start ait in February, and my ait time is allegedly cut in half due to me already being an AEMT. Video is super helpful! Keep up the awesome content!

You should really be joining as an E4 thru acasp. Regardless, if your NREMT is valid, you will skip EMT phase and accelerate to the next company starting Whiskey. The drills will try to put in the paperwork to get you promoted to E4 if your recruiter didn't get you acasp

You do get your phones and yes but they are more like mentors not too much crazy

Yes, you will have access to your phone, however unless otherwise prescribed, you will not be allowed to have them with you during the duty day/POI hours. So from the time you wake up to do PT until the time you get back from the schoolhouse or dinner chow in the evening you will not be allowed to have your phone or any smart watches, and being caught with one will lead to a counseling and loss of phase privileges as they bump you back down to Phase V and give you a black patch. There's more on each phase and their privileges and limitations that the Drills will go over in a General counseling that they'll give to the entire company.
Which brings me to the next point, yes there are Drill Sergeants in AIT. They are there moreso there as mentors/chaperones, however they can and still will PT you and act like Drills when necessary. If you have a shithead AIT company like the one I was stuck in, get ready to deal with a lot of BS. Useless formations, curfews, frequent hit times, getting dropped at nearly every formation, the works. So don't think you're all free and buddy buddy or that they're going to pretty much entirely leave you alone, because that's not the case. Every moment you spend under the Drills' possession is going to be strict and stupid. But such is TRADOC, and by that point you just have to keep reminding yourself that you only have a little ways to go until you're released into FORSCOM or wherever else you're going in the Big Army.
This info may be outdated and irrelevant to you by now, but hopefully this helps someone else out in the future if they stumble across this video, comment, and have the same question(s).
