That’s how you listen to music. Listen as a whole, break it down by tracking each element, then listen to the duets and 3-part harmonies, then listen to the whole again
While Geoff's performance is most impressive and something you don't encounter a lot, you have to give the entire group credit for the support. Together with Rachel's high notes (which, while less rare, are very impressive as well) in particular, their vocal range is going to be hard to top. (of course, as I said, we have to give the entire group credit for filling middle part of the range. Shoutout to Layne in particular, mad respect for all the background sounds you wouldn't even believe humans are capable of producing) This is extremely suitable for a medley from musicals, which is basically what many Disney movies are (ok, maybe a bit less singing than in most musicals). So it's no surprise this is not the only Disney medley they made together with Rachel. So all I can say is, your wel.. uh, I mean you rock, and try to keep up with the movies, pretty please?

I've never seen Moana. I've seen hardly any Disney/Pixar movies. I CAN'T stop coming back to this video. I only discovered VoicePlay a week ago and this is the one I keep coming back to.
It's just a big, fun, summery song. Rachel, Earl and Layne are all amazing.

The medley turned out amazing, and they are all such good singers and give emotion to every sentence. But Rachel's voice give the chills every time... Jesus, she's from out of this world. Loved it!

It is called subharmonics. Everything below a C2 is subharmonic.
First of all, I have to tell that Layne's beat boxing and perfect sounds he makes, really make voice play a lot better sounding. Then, of course Geoff. His deep and clean voice is really unbelievable (his hairstyle is perfect), then Rachel, singing really perfectly, clean, and high like nobody's business. And Eli, not so noticeable in this video, but has really good high singing, making him a really good member. And lastly, Earl, with his really nice sounding voice, taking voiceplay to a whole new level. Thanks for making such videos
believe it or not, if you listen closer in the video (specifically where geoff is taking lead) eli hits some crazy low notes like c2 and even a1- as a tenor. pretty crazy when you think about it

Eli does not sing bass here, only lip syncs it 'cause he doesn't have something else to lip sync to, and him doing nothing would be weird.
Eli only does bass from time to time, the most notable I remember being in an actual recorded video was the Wicked Medley, when Geoff sings 'Wonderful'. You'll hear the difference in tone & timbre immediately compared to this, which sounds exactly like Geoff. (think about it, if Eli could sing rock tenor notes & low bass notes like this, he would be much more talked about, and they would make him use that range constantly. He doesn't have low drop bass moments, if he could, they would let him. He does sing bass live sometimes as well, but only certain songs, and never this low.
As a Polynesian, I love the pronunciation of the songs. Keep working yall sound amazing 🤩

This is my favourite acapella from voiceplay, Moana is very sentimental to me, it came out two days after my nan passed away and when that date comes around every year this acapella helps me through it. I was incredibly close to my nan and it breaks my heart each year

Geoff singing in a higher tone is so beautiful, like his voice is always angelic but it was so unexpected and refreshing.

She was cast in the Walt Disney World parks as Ariel for "Voyage of the Little Mermaid" (2008) in Hollywood Studios, Belle for "Beauty and the Beast" (2008) in Hollywood Studios, and Nemo for "Finding Nemo: The Musical" (2009) in Animal Kingdom!!!
