    Hotels are definitely price gouging. Aside from not being able to book a hotel due to unavailability, the prices were 2-3X more than what is “normal”.

      Where? I have no functioning air, and have been buying ice by the 60#+ for a few years. I have NEVER seen ice that cheap. Nope. I found a Windmill water place that also has an ice maker. I pay $2.50/20#.

    A local gas station that has had the price of gas at 3.09 for months suddenly charged 3.29 when I paid in cash.

    I left Monday and headed out twords San Antonio. On Monday hotels were $135. By Thursday they were $250.

      You mean principal stockholder, and there isn't _one_ for Centerpoint. There's many, and the largest are mega corporations. CenterPoint's CEO, Jason P. Wells, made $7,000,000 just in 2023.

    Hotel without power allowed me to book online. Drove all the way there to find out they didn't have power and now they want to charge $175 cancelation fee, literally more than the price per night

    It’s a nice diverse city !!! Full of loving caring nice people. They never have road rage, no shooting ever, lots of clean well dressed people, nice cars, competent workers, great scenery, and Ofocurse beautiful weather! No way they price gouge. Rumors!!!

    Read my article last week in the Huntsville item- re: Harris county residents coming to Walker County for gas. Prices too high was the complaint-
    “By 50 cents”
    Yeah check the hotel fees too.

      It should be ok, because it is a free market. These same people cry when the shelves are empty because the stores weren't allowed to raise prices to prevent people from hoarding.
