We ditched van life for boat life in Sydney Australia

- Today was the day we needed the most. Today, we ditched the bad juju and luck that was our last few weeks of van life, had a taste of boat life, and got to see beautiful, sunny Sydney, Australia by sailboat. It was the best day we've had in a really, really long time and it was all thanks to the wonderful and generous Tracey & Graeme of the Flying Finneys.

We are spoilt here in Sydney. After 20 years of boat life, we are embarking on van life and loving it (the van is a bit bigger though) 🙂 The grass is always greener.....

Wonderful day! Sweet Australian couple. Be careful you don't fall in love with #sailinglife. There's a reason BOAT = Bust Out Another Thousand - very expensive and constant upkeep. Rental makes sense, though. Your whole life/trip got better after you got rid of the van. I think you should never get a van again. Just budget for rental car + motel/hostel if needed.
I have never heard BOAT described that way but I would agree that acronym has some truth to it 🤑

Pavlova is the antidote to Vegemite just as sailing on Sydney Harbour is the antidote to the travel blues!

Thank you so much! Switzerland is open and has pretty straightforward entry requirements, so now would be a great time! It's SO expensive though, but definitely worth it :)

Thank you for the kind reply. At 60 years old with a 90 year old father in law and my 3 beloved dogs, I doubt my dream will come true. Maybe some day, but until then just have fun, enjoy life, have a drink and give me a passing thought. I’ll be seeing you both in your videos.
Should come to Victoria in Autumn/Fall the leaves around Daylesford and other regional areas are beautiful. It's my fav time of year living in Melbourne

He’s friggin mad that bloke, there’s sharks everywhere in the harbour & scraping away like that on the prop & filling the water with little molluscs will probably attract them, he’s obviously from Sydney he should know that a navy clearance diver lost an arm & a leg not so many years ago down near Wooloomooloo

You have no idea how many bull sharks there are in the harbour... and they are the deadliest sharks.. definitely do not recommend anyone swim in the harbour
