- Tony Grisanti of Buffalo, NY shows how to make his father's palm Cross and Sacred Heart design. An accurate, inspiring, creative heritage. Vi ringrazio Tony!
Part of St Casimir's Family Heritage Series; "From Table to Altar and Back". Documented by Daybreak Productions thanks to a seed grant from the Permanent CHair of Polish Culture at Canisius College, Buffalo, NY.
Thank you for showing this way of making the cross with palms. I remember my mother making them, but I had forgotten how she did it. I have never seen the heart made with palms, and that is so nice. I will have to watch this video next year when I can get more palms! Thank you and God bless you!
WOW. I cant wait to make this cross!!!!!!! so beautiful!!!! THANK YOU
Thank you, Tony, for sharing this beautiful family tradition with us! God Bless You!
You directly taught us how to make the Italian palm cross and your father indirectly taught all of us too. One child in our group used the hard edge that we tore off the palm and tied a ring under the top bow to make it easy to hang up.
Thank you Tony, I can't wait to make my cross next week. God bless you, Therese
Awesome, awesome, beautiful! I'm going to practice this one! I'll have to go back to chruch and get more palm leaflets! Thank you for sharing!
Nicely explained, love the soothing background music. I too make crosses like this as well as I learn at my home parish of Sacred Heart in downstate New York. It is an Italian tradition at our parish.
So beautiful Father! I love the addition of the heart! ❤
Thank you so much for sharing this. We are doing this on Saturday afternoon for our Sunday morning service. Many blessings 🙌 🙏
BEAUTIFUL!!🙏❤️ Thank you so much, Tony, for sharing!!
Thank you Tony, for showing this traditional weaving of the Cross and Heart. It was not difficult to follow you especially if one has their heart in it!! Which I do. I've been looking for instructions to make the heart, never getting it right, taking apart the one I have. I am so grateful to find your video and it has added to my Easter preparations. I will make it every year and pass it to my children. I hope that is a beautiful compliment to you. Happy Easter to you, Tony and Father!
Fabulous tutorial. I was intimidated by the image and the length of the video, but I was able to follow along and practice a few steps over. After a few minutes, I got the hang of it, and was able to make a few beautiful crosses. Thank you. Happy Easter!
BTW, if your palms dry out like mine, you can soak them in water for a few hours and they'll be soft and pliable again.
Thanks! Your a great teacher! Blessings!
What a beautiful cross. Thank you for sharing how to make it.
Very beautiful. I was always trying to know how to do it. I will practice n do it with this Palm Sunday palm. Thank you so much.
Tony, thank you for the great video. I have been making the Italian Cross for years. The Heart Palm is a GREAT addition.
Tony's a great gentleman and enjoys to hand on his father's heritage.
excellent demonstration Happy Palm Sunday
Thank you sooo! much! I grew up in Buffalo, Visitation Parish, Lovejoy!
Wow... sooo pretty! Wish I watched this when my palms were still fresh
I just came back from Mass and was disappointed I only had one palm, thinking I couldn't make this. Then, as I was cleaning the stiff edges, found out it was two inner palms stuck together. I then thought I wouldn't have enough for the heart, but managed to make a slightly smaller version using the extra length I trimmed off at the beginning. Thank you for this tutorial and helping to keep these traditions alive.
I didn't know I had 2 palms either. In the past someone always made my crosses for me. I've been spoiled! Lol
This is a lot of fun to watch and reminds me of my grandfather teaching us how to make palm crosses. It would be easier to listen to without the music in the background.
Beautiful!!
It is very nice and creative, thank you for sharing father, fantastic idea 👌
Finally I did it.
This is absolutely lovely 😍 💕 🙏 God bless you ❣

Wonderful
Wow very nice
Nice
Great video, God bless you and thank you
Very relaxing video came out great but the camera angles from forward and point of view were confusing the process
Hello! I was just going to say thank you for putting this together, but the camera angles should have been from behind his shoulder so you could follow him better, I was very confused! I tried watching multiple times. I am trying to copy the cross style my grandmother used to make, and this is the only video showing that style. I am going to keep trying!
Ok fifth time is a charm! I did it! :) Thank you!
Very nice thank you to share this vedio
Wooow 😄😄😄👍👍oke
Qué linda la Santa cruz, donde dio jesús su , ultimo suspiro .Por la salvación de nosotros, nadie pelio por el. Por qué su .Reino no era de, este mundo, perdonó asus verdúgos.❤
HO MY GOD! VERY PRETY!!!
is there any the instruction an be put in writing so I can have a print version also
Hello, if you wish, check the 3 points near the RECORDING option and choose Open transcription, you will have all the text of the creation '' Tutorial for weaving crosses and palm trees in Italian hearts ''. Also, you can '' Activate / deactivate time stamps '' which will remove the minutes of execution.
I tried this many many times and it wouldn't stay together because of the loose one at the beginning coming out... it is beautiful and I want to do this but it kept falling apart
It's likely because you didn't lock the horizontal bar--I'm assuming that's what you were referencing with "the loose one at the beginning." Make sure it wraps behind and is inserted just under the top most wrap, this will ensure it locks into place.
@@kyrieeleison2793 I finally just taped the two together and it worked but it took me many times.
Very good video, but I just couldn’t get the sacred heart right it just fell apart. I do love how the Italian cross looks though.
🙏💜👍
Confused from the first freaking step 😆
Math class?
✝❤
Very cool, but should have been filmed from behind & above to make the tutorial easier to follow.
my palm keeps splitting in half :(
Try soaking your palm in water for a little bit, this is what basketweavers do to make their materials more pliable. Also, a nun in another video mentioned the sisters putting the palms in the snow to soften them up.
Mnuh
So beautiful but a bit too involved for this Nonna❤
not as easy to do then you are saying Tony Grisanti. I have waisted 8 blessed palms just trying to do the lock parts. (I did get to make one but as soon I let it go from both hands everything came apart. good luck everyone trying this Italian Cross my recommendation is make sure you have many palms ahead you will need as many to do one lock part then go on. Bless you all 🙏
Nice God Bless You All🕆
Changing the camera angle and using you hands to block what you're doing makes the video pointless at around 3:30
Who ever did the video did a rotten job, the fellas hands are in the way the entire time to begin with
