Not sure how this ended up in my feed but either your breaker or the outlet itself needs to be GFI equipped to avoid risk of electrocution in wet conditions.

So I have a couple GFI outlets in the garage that are on the same breaker does that count? I was wondering about that but wasn’t sure. That’s how the house was when I first bought it 10 years ago.

As long as the load side of one of the GFI outlets inside on the same branch is feeding power into this outlet then it would be protected and you are fine. I would open one of them up and verify if you can. You "can" be safe with using standard outlets on just a GFI protected breaker. I know my local inspector still likes to see both the breaker and the receptacle itself have GFI circuitry. I also tend to err on the side of redundancy in terms of safety regardless of code though as code is the bare minimum requirements. Others may disagree.

Thanks for the tip. How would you verify if it’s feeding power into this outlet? Is there certain tool I could use?

Use the “test” button on your GFI outlet. Then use an outlet tester in this outlet. If your tester shows no power to this outlet when hour GFI is tripped, that means it feeds off the GFI and is “downstream” so you’re good. If it still has power when your GFI outlet is tripped, then this is “up stream” from it and not protected by the GFI.

is there a reason, you didn't use foam or caulk?

I actually ended up caulking around it with some silicone because I didn’t feel like the foam that the cover came with was enough I just forgot to record it.
