- Last Friday ELS 503 dropped onto the ground leaving that train stranded near Stiles, WI for the last 5 days as ELS 502 came down from the north in the pouring rain! It may be a few days before we see another train, but it'll have centerbeams I'm sure as LP will need them soon!

That was a nasty storm. The only thing I hate about filming in the rain is getting my feet wet.
I'm one of those weird people who LOVES the rain. I wish there was more videos of trains in the rain. Thanks for doing this; good work!
Judging from the scant maintenance ELS Railroad does, it's a wonder the stock doesn't spend more time on the ground. Instead of fixing the track where the rocking of loaded cars is intense, they just slow the train down. Deferred maintenance.
Don't live n U.S. but it's all money
Does a little railroad like this have the budget to fully repair its bad bits of track?
Like I always say don't worry about to rain. There's no soap in it
Love that , no soap in it , met couple from Boston tonight
Nice!
🎶 Where I come from, rain is a good thing. Rain makes corn, corn makes wiskey, wiskey makes my baby feel a little frisky. Rain is a good thing. 🎶 Be glad you couldn't actually hear me singing that. It wasn't pretty. LOL!
GT Comments Hi from Ireland
Sing It Go Ahead
Great video Jason.
Michigan is so beautiful.
I watched a video of ELS in Stiles a while back, and if I was a betting man, I would almost bet where it occurred.
❤ your train videos
rain, rain go away; come again some other day! Full marks to you for filming in the rain! Sitting in the dry comfort of my reading room, I applaud your perseverance!
Recording in the rain, now thats dedication 👍
Getting wet for all of us faithful fans!!! Great job, thanks for sharing 👏Wipers worked! Light Rain this morning in Maine, some areas had T-Storms Tuesday in western Maine!
Good job again Jason! Keep'm rolling up there!!
Got 3.5" rain in south Spencer, Iowa on May 21. Thanks for the video, Jason!
A couple days of rain makes the ground under the ties soggy and they can't hold the rails in place. Most of ELS tracks need more ballast and ties replaced.
Good morning I enjoyed that video👍👍
Hey Jason, nice job I would much rather watch a train in the rain with the wipers on than no train at all, hey how’s the broken pole doing??
I grew up seeing rocking cars on the old rock island railroad it's crazy I didn't see more derailments
Getting close to 100k!
That last scene with the intense rain and tbe.really dark skies sums up the enthusiasm level of looking for a train. Three days off and on soggy weather aren't going to help track conditions. We'll make it to Green Bay someday
Glad you enjoyed it
Nice👍
As the Adams and Musters would say it is perfect driving weather.
The Adams family movie
Laurel and Hardy too
Why am I not surprised that ELS put a train on the ground. The tracks I see in your videos are really awful. Time for them to put some money into maintenance.
Stay alert and stay aware. LP must be asking questions.they are moving plenty of freight on time. time to pay up in maintenance.
Great wet video thanks Jason
One day they are gonna have a bad derailment, logs scattered siding scattered, or a ruptured tank car eith Haz Mat, thanks Jason for the video
That’s alright Jason! You need the rain!
Another derailment? Wow!
Pouring rain or shine your always pushing out train videos you are a dedicated man Jason.
Beautiful video as always! I wonder if G&W will buy the E&LS and shore up the maintenance? It is a wonder that they don’t have more derailments.
good train video
Was the derailment near the sketchy tracks you found on your southern journey a few weeks ago? I see you updated that ELS is back on the track, that was quick! Hopefully we will see them coming north again real soon.
Better than yard speed 5 or 10 mph, Need more track inspection runs ? Old worn out cars. How often do they find a answer
Like when the lights start.
Thanks for all you do for getting this videos for us to enjoy
Gosh Jason - yet another derailement - just what IS happening to make the tracks right for such heavy loads running over it?
How many more derailments is ELS going to have? It seems to be one per week, this is getting very expensive for ELS, Don't you think, Jason?
So many times I've seen your videos and it appears that the ELS tracks are in kinda sad shape. Is this contributing to the derailments?
there to cheap to fix. That's what it sounds like
How does ELS keep an operating permit with all these derailments? Is there no authority or regulatory body for such matters.? 🇬🇧
The Federal Railroad Administration has vertain classifications for track. The worse the classification, the lower the maximum authorized speed. And the FRA does make inspections.
@@erie910 Thanks for that. 👍👍. Watching Jason's videos for nearly three years now, one wonders how often inspections happen. The stretch outside his home never seems to improve, and the number of derailments in recent months should be raising alarm bells I would have thought. I would also think work would be done on account of a new and seemingly plentiful traffic source. 🇬🇧
Maybe if that poor excuse for a RR actually did maintenance on their track, they MIGHT not have a train on the ground every week or two.
I would think it'd be a lot cheaper to fix the tracks than uprighting railcars or locomotives almost daily, as that's got to cost a lot of $$$$!
Hi J thumbs up finally we go early summer wr was spring only4 Wks meeting Americans Alot here n Ireland True so open n friendly Like me Brian 🌹🇺🇸😎😊👍🚂🛤️🐾👣☘️🏠
Thanks J Keep Rolling I still miss Hobo shoestring.
I can't keep up with lots Utubers but I try I know thumbs up means Alot
Thanks J U see I made us all Happy even 4000 miles away Yeehah 🛤️
Until you know the cause of the derailment, please don't be so quick to make assumptions.
Thanks for the effort Jason, it's never easy to video in bad weather.
