Every time they walk on grass and mud they get more ill. The paving you started then erased was a good start! Build fance along the road so they don't walk on the grass on the way in too.
You're daily income is negative. You get paid every day per student but you also pay staff every day. Fire some staff or get to the end of day 9 the next build phase and hope you have enough new students to put you in the green for income.
You can put mostly anything in any room. There isn't much interesting for the common area but you can put say vending machines in there.

Dan, please play this again, also some tips I think could help you. 1. Get a good school before you start the year with bathrooms, classrooms, a cafeteria and kitchen, etc. 2. Organize your school, try to keep building organized and the rooms inside organized. 3. Get as many chairs as students your school has. This was my advice for how to keep a stable school!
