In this video I walk you through an unboxing, setup and review of the D4K2AD84DB Series surveillance camera system by Lorex. I've now installed systems by wisenet, cobra, night owl, and ring. This system (Lorex) has been my favorite so far in terms of video quality (4K resolution), software (application hasn't given me problems), and overall ease of use. I have mine connected to the internet via ethernet cable and I oversee surveillance footage on my phone via the application.

I have the same system. For me the biggest drawback is that everytime I want to access my system I must type in my password. With my last system a Night Owl DVR I had the option to bypass having to enter my password. Just the others night a deer was in my driveway, by the time it took me to enter my password to take a photo the deer was gone. Again the password option should be left up to the owner.

I have a question I have a Lorex security camera system eight cameras, but my DVR seems to have an issue where it doesn’t wanna turn on. Let me explain. I could hear the fan on on the front I can see the power light is lit, but I’m not able to turn it on. When I press the power button. I tried changing the adapter for a similar one, but it doesn’t do anything I’m paying for my aunts cancer treatments I’m on a really tight budget. Is there any hope to get this working?

Does the HDMI cord need to be connected at all times? Or can that be disconnected once the set up is complete??

I am interested in buying the system, but do you still have to do the port forwarding and all of that stuff or is it a lot easier to set up to be able to view it on your cell phone?
It's a lot easier to set up to be able to view it on your cell phone. The lorex manual will have a QR code that you can scan with your phone and it will take you to the lorex website with two minute tutorials about how to set it up. The customer service is also very good with lorex.

So, this system doesn't have audio ? no speaker? it looks like it has speaker.
It has a speaker that makes an alarm when you press the alarm button. You can't speak into the camera and people can't speak from the camera to you like a ring doorbell. I believe lorex has a camera system with two way talk but you'd have to look at the lorex website
Thet do have 2 way audio, with night color vision and night color vision booster it just cost a little more, but only the IP cameras have this function
is there a way to permanently disable the siren speaker

Do you need to subscribe for monthly fee for this? And is it possible to ungrad the memory hard drive or something for more recording?
The cool thing about Lorex is that there's not a monthly fee. If you buy the 2TB version, then it will leave recordings up for 6 day then delete them automatically to make room for 6 more days. Basically if a crime happens and you want to see who did what, you have 6 days from the date of the crime to watch the footage and save a copy to a hard drive or to your phone from the app

What if you weren’t done setting up the camera and you forget your password, how do you get access to finish the setup?

Why is internet needed?
To be able to view it wirelessly. You can have the cameras set up without Internet but you won’t be able to see them on your phone unless they are connected to Internet
@@vierdoesit I cant view mine when im not on the same network as the System. How can I view it live even when im connected to another internet with a different ip adress?
You didn't show video on the tv, the final proof its actually working. Very poor overall.
