He wasn't wishing you a good meal when he said Bon Appétit. He was saying the name of the competition .
No need to bash it. It's fast food on the go thru a drive thru, it's not gourmet. Still their chicken nuggets and fries amazing while hot.
Why is your hamburger 3D? McDonald's hamburgers are suppose to be 2D. Maybe they forgot to squash yours flat.
Why all the dislikes? He's given his opinion, promoted local talented chefs, and didn't say anything which was to be deemed "annoying" by public standards.
I mean if you don't want to see him don't come here. There's no need to spread all the negativity.
Vineeth C : He hates Mc Donalds meat so why would he like the grand mac. The review was in before he even tried it. Mc Donalds fans wanted to see it compared by one of their own, so this was a waste of time. If he only reviews high quality foods then fast food reviews should be done comically for at least some entertainment. I am subscribed to "worlds best seafood" & many cooking & food related channels including this, so this video was recommended to me.
He said "I'm into fresh beef.." but most of videos are about aged meat. anyways great episode
Mohamad Alnasser true, but most burgers, not steaks, are known to be better fresh
Mohamad Alnasser theres a difference between frozen and dry aged. One enhances and preserves flavor, one kills it.
I understand my ignorance now, thank you all for enlightening me.
you get what you pay for with mcdonalds. best burgers ive ever had were at mcdonalds at rush hour at liverpool st station, double cheese burgers is the only thing people buy so they literally can never keep up with demand, that means when you order one its always piping hot fresh and juicy.
You guys do know you can ask for anything on the menu fresh, just might have to wait a bit for it
The ones I have had always had shit beef. Like cardboard shavings compiled into a patty with beef flavouring. I still enjoy them though.
Frankly, I don't get. We all know that there are high quality burgers out there. Everyone who cares knows that. I like my high quality burgers. They are awesome. But from time to time, my drunk self craves a Big Mac. Fuck the beef on there, it's all disguised by the Big Mac sauce anyway. The only way to improve a Big Mac is by removing the middle bun. Fuck that shit, no one needs it. It's wrong and absolutely fucking right at the same time.
I worked at McDonald's back in high school, and the Mac Jr. was around back then. It was sort of on the "hidden menu."
It's literally the exact same thing as the Big Mac, but with less of everything. One patty (as opposed to two) of the same meat that goes on the Big Mac. Sesame seed bun that is used in the Big Mac, just missing the center piece. Lettuce, onion, pickles and Special Sauce, which all go on the Big Mac, just in larger amounts.
If you like the Big Mac, there's no reason to not like the Mac Jr.
that bite full of mac sauce was so funny I died
the grand mac is glorious
sure does look good.
The size of it also looks like it matches more to my appetite.
really agree with the last part. there's so many good places for burger out there.
The McD franchise up here in Alaska has been selling this for IIRC 8 years. It was called the McKenley Mac, then changed it to the Denali Mac when they changed the name of the mountain.
But is has the patties from the quarter pounder.
Been eating big macs my whole life. I like the grand mac
The Mac Jr is the quarter pounder Bun. I work at McDonald's. His guess was right.
"The meat is a mere rumor"..., love it.
he needs to stop saying "mere rumor"
These vids are so funny. Cheers!
gotta say i love the big mac!!
"The meat in here is a mere rumor!" -- LOL. Let's see one of the other Eaters come up with a line that good.
He knew damn well he liked every damn bite of those sandwiches
Big Mac is life
This was much more dramatic than I was expecting. :O
Grand Mac is pretty good, but it is what big mac should be
They talk shit about McDonald's but we all know we still eating there.
When we served it, I would order what my managers and I called the "Super Grand Mac" It was a grand mac with extra everything (Including patty) sub Leaf lettuce, and sub 1/4 meat patty.
You nailed it!
Goddamit Nick! I've defended you in your last video, but dammit Nick, you're making it really hard to justify what you're doing right now xD
In The Netherlands we've already had it and it was called Big Mac Deluxe.
Should have just gone to republic, so good!
i fucking love a grand mac so good
lol there was a squirrel in the frame eating the same time:)))
He should do an episode where he tries the new "fresh beef" quarter pounder.
Kenji Lopez-Alt who is the author (one of the authors) Food Lab of serious eats has a very interesting article on the Big Mac. He thinks while the burger isn't that good its a good example of good sandwich design (which the Grand Mac and Mac Jr. Doesn't have) and has an article on how to make a gourmet version.
Lmao whole time I'm thinking wtf are you saying😂😂😂
The Grand Mac is actually a Big Mac and the Big Mac should be called Tiny Mac. =)
it may not be the platonic ideal, but there was a mere rumor in there. thumbs up
id love to see nick solares do a review of burger king hamburgers and see how it stacks up to his hated macdonalds
Did he say "Evocative of a prior age"? Hahaha
"next week, I'll be seeing how the olive garden's dumpster stacks up to two day old Denny's leftovers"
ending is excellent. try the other burger shops 🙂
He was so proud of that "It's Le Big Mac!" line.
Edit: This is also the third time I hear this guy refer to something as a "mere rumor".
Somethings he just constantly returns to. ''Mere rumor'', ''pleutonic ideal'', ''Maillard Reaction'', ''Quintessential'', ''Hello I'm at restaurant X, from Y city, Z state. And they make the best whatever on earth''
just hope all those food are not wasted
If I was in charge you’re career would be a ‘mere rumour’
What about the maillard reaction.
got the proper pea green on
The BigMac is the first "grown up" burger you ever get to order as a kid. Going from a kid's meal to that thing, goddamn. It's no wonder we're all fat now.
Dried age the Big Mac patties till they're grown molds, put them between a couple french rolls, give it a hipster name, and slap a $70 price tag on it and you'll get a rave review from Nick.
you guys should have him try some of the breakfast.
living in australia and if i could id get mc donalds on my way to school cant but
Is it shot at Washington square park?
ha⅃⅃o its me at QUƎTTA form Balochistan

they NO like mCdonald'S
they is only eat MUTTONN + rice
BUT i sure like McARABIA
thank U v.niceLEY
Don't be a snob, this burger is an all time classic and has proven popular for over 50 years.
I usually eat Big Macs like a salad with meat and bread…
I am usually extremely envious of you when I watch your videos, Nick. NOT TODAY.
"Here is more McDonald's than anyone should ever fucking spend money on." lol
Is it just me or has someone else also noticed that squirrel sitting on the far end of that park bench the whole time?
I hate watching people review fast food on youtube and you can tell the burger has been sitting for a while and is cold before they even start recording.
I actually liked the the Mac jr. I wish they would bring it back
In Australia you can still order a Mega Mac and Angus Mac.
burgerbusiness.com/mcdonalds-plans-angus-version-of-big-mac-in-australia/
the fact that he is eating it at Stuyvesant Park just a block away from Joe Jr. must make it so much worse.
LOL the grand Mac is what the Big Mac use to be,
McDonald's and there skimpin ass
Please tell me where you got that bomber jacket!
I only eat the salads from McDonald's, and that's only when I'm in dire straits.
Hilarious to see his reaction to this. Let’s be honest most of us don’t mind a Big Mac, but if you got to try the best steaks and meats around the world and then had to go eat this you can understand his trepidations.
he's dropping lettuce for the birdies.
I've been without McDonalds for 2 months. I never wanna eat it again.
How did the Joga Matts taste?
Intro :-
>Bon appetite!
>Messi!
He sure loves football
Now i'm hungry for double qp :(
The clown needs to bring back the beef tallow, and 86 the warming drawers.
Although the ingredients are the same, the Grand Mac is not so good because the patty, though lager in diameter, needs to be a bit thicker to match the proportions of the original Big Mac.
Man you are certainly the best burger reviewer i have seen
and as a food lover I have been looking for one I m subscribing for sur
but I really do not agree concerning Mc Dee Man I wishe I could try the grand mac
it looks like a mac feast delux on steroid maaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnn
i m very emotional when it comes to mac donals loooooooooool
You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with Cheese in Paris?
A Royal with Cheese
Go all in and eat a dozen White Castle burgers.
The snobby former Skinhead is too snobby this time
whitesonar
"No no, it's OK. I'm just a FORMER rapist."
Wanna know why your comment is fucking stupid or do you get it now?
So Shaun, having misguided beliefs at one time in your life that you'v since realised/learned weren't cool and publicly acknowledging them as such, and raping people are equivalent? Good analogy. Maybe work on those arguments before bringing them up in public, or just try to be less cynical.
whitesonar
"misguided beliefs"
I love how you are trying to dilute the fact that this guy was a member of a violent hate group by chalking it up as just "misguided beliefs".
its ok, everybody. Hitler wasn't really a bad guy. He just had misguided beliefs.
Can you show me something that proves his involvement with actual actions? Otherwise, for all we know his time as a 'Skinhead' could have just involved hanging out with Dr Martins' on and a mohawk... Also, you've peaked at Hitler too soon, what else can you compere him to now? lmao
In Singapore we have Double Big Mac and Double McSpicy. And because our food must be Halal we don't have some pork related burgers that I see from the USA which I kind of envy
is it Primal and Elemental tho?
Nick you must have crazy Uric Acid levels with all that red meat. How do you keep it at a healthy level?
McDonalds has a surprisingly great burger in The Netherlands called the Maestro Burger (100% Angus beef) and optional Old Amsterdam cheese. Here's their site: www.mcdonalds.nl/producten/burgers-mcnuggets/maestro-burger-met-100-angus-beef-old-amsterdam
Oh and it actually looks like the picture out of the box. Couldn't believe it was from McDonalds the first time I had it
he's at fucking McDs, its like comparing comic books to Gone with the Wind!😭😎
The first time I saw the Grand Mac was in Paris, France.
I tried it, but wasn't overly impressed. As Nick points out here, the ratios feel off, to much bun and lettuce, to little meat.
Personally I think they should've gone with an approach similar to what I hear they have had at McDonald's Japan. Instead of making the bun wider with wider patties that are still really flat, the standard bun, but with the quarterpounder patties making it taller and giving it a better meat-to-everything-else ratio, could've been a real winner.
+Moo cant find it, but i gotta say you're cool AF lol
You should go to Nusr'et (saltbae's) restaurant
have you tried the "Big Kahuna Burger"?
2:28 Is there sitting a squirrel?
I liked the Mac Jr. better because it doesn't have that 3rd bun. Always made the big mac taste just like a bunch of bread. Plus the middle bun ends up getting soggy by the time you finish it.
Tried the grand Mac and I missed the big mac.... Irony
Having more of a bad thing becomes more noticeable, it wasn't so awful when the big mac was the same size as a quarter pound but more vertical but now they are just increasing the ratio of dry meat dry bread and lettuce falling all over your driver seat without adding to the verticality which I think it's the iconic part that makes it so signature
I'm a time where burgers were flat McDonald's made a thicker burger where no one did back in the day and it stuck now there's hundreds of gourmet burger places that took the extra real estate by going higher not just bigger
Good review! I like that he gave it a chance and didn't just go off on some elitist cheffy rant. McDonalds REALLY needs to step up their beef game - thin, lack of char, soggy and cardboard esque beef patties does not make for a good burger, especially considering the price of them in the UK.
The only thing in McDonald that I can kinda enjoy is their fries. Just about everything else they serve all have better alternatives at a similar cost elsewhere.
He should try Ramly burger. Ramly=best burger!
1978? Where were you? It came out in around 1973
for a second I thought he was going to sell out, glad he didnt!
So it's going back to the old size for a higher price and a new name.
Try fuel shack burgers the meat was great and moist
Their burgers would go so much further if they melted the cheese down a little. Nothing worse than the sight of that cold american cheese hanging out of the burger
Carwyn Stephen If you order it fresh, they'll absolutely do that upon request. And you're quite right. It makes a world of difference.
theres something i like about the "just hot, about to melt but doesn't quite yet" mcdonalds cheese. thats mostly what it comes out like, and kind of melts when u bite into the burger
that and the horrid bread they use
I actually like it like that, melted cheese is not for me.
