i have the connection of the bumper higher and i think it touches too, any help? I need to roll my fenders but i think is not enought and my car isnt that low on the back , i have troubles when i have people in the back
This might have helped, a bit. The correct way to eliminate the problem, most videos won’t tell. If you have a more aggressive offset, this won’t be enough. BMW has a sponge strip on the inner lining then they spray the undercoat on top. You have to remove the undercoat and sponge strip in order to bend the inner fender further inwards. That will take time and effort. Plus you can install a negative camber kit to help. Better yet is to have a coil over to raise the car a bit if necessary, yet still keeping a good looking stance.
They are fine if im careful but today I had 3 more people in my sedan and it was scarping a little more than unusual
Thank you. I wasnt sure why my car made weird noises but it sounds exactly like in ur video. Ig the previous owner put on the wrong tieres
Got some aftermarket me for my c300 4matic sport 2010 old ones 17inch now after markets 18inch jnc rims .... tires are bigger now ofc and every time I hit bump pot hole just like beginning of this video. I hear it all the time.will this work ? My cars already low since it’s Mercedes ...
Hi, thanks for watching! You should be able to get a bit more clearance using this method, but it is not without risks. There is a chance of cracking your paint, or any old body filler that you didn't even know about. You will also need to treat the inside of the steel with some new anti-rust coating, as well as modify the sound-deadening inner lining so that it still reaches the full width it needs to. So, quite a lot of work, but could be well worth it!
I have this problem with my front 20 inch wheels 2014 Hyundai sonata ..if I rolled fenders what about my inner wheel fender cover ? Could I remove them or are covers to to prevent water and debris from getting up inside engine area
Hi, thanks for watching! I didn't address that issue in the video, but what I did is get hold of an old inner liner, cut out part of it, and then riveted and glued it to the existing liner so that it was wide enough to reach. It is a bit of a hassle, but I think it is worth it to keep the noise down and the salt and other road gunk out. All the best in doing something similar for your car.
@@StevenBTuner sorry for late reply.., and thank you for replying ,That helped me alot 😊 no longer have that issue 🙏
Raised my coilovers a hair, smacked my car into neutral and put some nice new grey lines into my impact sockets. Worked a charm, didn't have to buy a tool that'd sit around my shed for years.
Other folks use a baseball bat and roll it between the tire and the fender :-)
@@StevenBTuner baseball bat wouldn't of fit, but I do wish I thought of wooden dowels.
How did you jack the car up like that? My car is too low and the fender roller tool sits up way too high?
MY TIRES ROLLED MY FENDERS FOR ME 😭😭😭 caused paint chipping on the outside of one of the fenders :/
Steven B. Tuner - yup 😅 i was gonna roll them when i install my coilovers this week anyways, but now that’s not necessary lol. disappointed about the paint tho 😔
Steven B. Tuner - i think what happened was i was going a little quick the other night, and the car took a little jump 😅 i’m getting smaller tires today so i wont have this issue after lowering, but it’s still pretty annoying :/ but again at least i dont have to buy the fender roller anymore 😩
Put some wheel spacers on started doing this 😂😂 I loved the look and wanted to keep them thanks
@@slimmmslimm8692 the wheel spacers caused the rubbing. Before the tires were pretty far in and had a lot of room but the wheel spacers pushed them out to where they didn’t have much room
Ain't no sound like some good owe club music in the background 👍
:-) I have given up on music in the videos as I have had some false copyright infringement claims...
So did it work? Did the rubbing stop I might have to do this to my own BMW next week I remember doing it on my Celica GT4 and it kinda helped...... be great if you done and after video
Hi, it worked enough to get the 265s under there, so it gave me the extra 10mm that I needed to stop the rubbing. Unfortunately I didn't catch it quick enough, so the inner sound guard needed a bit of surgery to put back together.
@@StevenBTuner perfect 👌🏻 I just put genuine 220m wheels on mine with 265 at the back so I’ll try this thanks for the video
I'm trying this on Monday! Went from 215 -60 - 17's to 225 - 45 - 18's... I'll let you know how it works
The hard ways 😅😅
❤
Is it dangerous for them to rub
Mine rubs on some dips but not every single second like in your video
Would I be okay to let them rub???
They don't rub when turning though, just some dips
Pros and cons?
Hi, if your tire isn't getting shredded, and you can put up with the sound - then there is no problem ;-)
@@syleuva310 I'm never a fan of things rubbing where they're not supposed to - so it is a good idea to find out where the rubbing is occurring so that you can keep an eye on it. A common thing to happen is for the inner lining to wear through, which can then catch salty grit if you live in a cold region where they salt the roads.
@@syleuva310bit late but mine rub a lil when i go over big bumps. only touches the fender liner not the fender itself so it really shouldn’t be an issue
Or just put some camber
Hi, thanks for watching and commenting! A good suggestion for sure - but I'm already at -2.5 degrees.
na to stressful to me. om driving 4 hours to pay a more experienced guy to do it instead. 8 hour round trip prob would take me atleast that long to do it myself anyways lol.
Are you brave enough to do this to your BMW?
No. No Im not. This seems like a modification that can not be undone.
Theres no way those things rubbed lol.
@@StevenBTuner heck yea man. I love real life every day content. Keep it coming.
I rolled mine with hammer... 🤣
@@StevenBTuner i have fiberglass fenders so ill have to cut off arches anyways so rusting caused by chipping wasnt really issue for me 😂 wouldnt suggest hammer otherwise
The best solution is reduce the size of your tire and mags. No headaches. 🤣🤣
Thank you so much. You are the only person that cared enough to outright put this noise on here and put it at the beginning. Subscribed. That's exactly what my sound was. Couldn't find it anywhere. I was afraid it was a bad vacuum hose losing air or some horrible suspension issue, but thank Christ. That is the most unnerving noise I've ever heard in my vehicle lol You have solved my issue. Smaller tires here I come.
It's good to know what is causing all of the noises!
