- Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic! Today we are back with a classic challenge, the cargo helicopter build off! In this challenge we each have to build a helicopter capable of picking up and delivering cargo!

I think/heard Amazon actually shut down their drone delivery idea. Drone destruction, theft, and FAA costs or something.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's dead. They've certainly cut all investment, whether they are still running any I'm not sure.
Safety, noise, needing approval in every local district, setup and maintenance costs... All just too impractical/costly
There's another really cool drone delivery company called zipline, it's a really, really, quite drone for short deistance that gets lowered down by a larger drone way above, so it can't be heard. There's also a long distance version, more of a glider that's used mostly in a specific African country (i don't remember which one) that's used to deliver medical supplies over a very long distance in minutes.
Mark Rober just put out a video about Zipline. It was the first time I had ever heard of the company and it looked pretty cool. The set up in Rawanda they have for delivering medical supplies is crazy impressive.

Would love to see a helicopter fire fighting challenge. They did the one fire fighting challenge, but it would be awesome to see a helicopter version after this week.

The most superior design
Even more interesting than the definition of helicopter is the etymology of the word itself! It is derived from two words: Helico and Pter. Helico is a variant on, "Helix" like the original DaVinci "air screw" invention. Pter is the word for, "wing".
Thus the meaning of "helicopter" is Helix-wing or spiral-wing.😁🚁

Apparently less than 10 houses total were served in the first month of the Amazon drone service. Those being the only house they have any permission to fly to at the moment given FAA restrictions
Can’t wait for Zipline to show up in Canada with their drones. They already have a couple of years of great experience.

I got an idea a base with an 2 AA gun players vs a cardboard helicopter with guns the attacker has to destroy the base core the defender has to destroy the helicopter the winner will be who was the one to destroy the base the fastest is the winner
