Absolutely marvellous, all good funny offence meant or taken, racism was never thought off.Because it was all-in fun and not hate. Today sadly we can’t even laugh at ourselves.

Ah the good old days when we could engage in casual racism and white men could black up, because it was all in good fun. Instead of just admitting the humour was of its time.

Dick Emery honed these characters into well loved staples of seventies viewing. It seems so long ago now.

29:39 You're right, although there are a couple of possible perspectives, neither of contradict each other. One is that the 1970s are already quite long ago and will only become ever increasingly more so; all things date, including the comedy of Dick Emery. The other is that a pernicious and intolerant sociopolitical 'woke' ideology has arisen since the late 20th century, which would if let fully loose would suppress or destroy everything historically prior to the height of its own fever, whenever that may come.
