I got a box of 18-19 series 1 like this on release, I think it was something like 7-8 YG’s, a canvas yg, a exclusive yg and a clear cut yg all in one box

$2000 for a case, 1 exclusives base, 1 decent clear cut. $2000 for $500 worth of cards that may or may not be damaged to fuck right from the printing press…….glad it was you paying not me.
Exactly. I bought the full YG set and about half the canvas base + YG so far for $700ish. Hobby boxes/case have less and less value, low chance of hobby exclusive cards and now cards are damaged too. What an L
@@MarspeedCars unfortunately breakers and guys with the itch for that big hit will always keep UD in business. You and me can buy what we want and these other guys can waste their money to make that happen.
@@christopherpowis8884 facts, i just purchased the last box i will ever buy after opening a 2021-22 series 1 box and getting no hobby exclusive and 5 young guns that are not even playing in the league yet. All i got was a shit pile of inserts no one wants, fuck upper deck making some boxes absolutely loaded and others making the buyer want to load a gun and shoot himself

Little fact on Daniel Walcott. He played a year for the Lindenwood Lions in the ACHA, or American Collegiate Hockey Association. It is a club hockey league comprised of hundreds of universities across the US. Interesting as he is the only ACHA player to tally time in the NHL, and win a cup.
Technically, he didn't win a cup. You need a certain amount of games for the team, or you have to play one game in the finals.
I’m glad that box heated up a bit , the quality no doubt is disappointing this year , I’ve pulled some suspect cards as well .

I bought two retail mega boxes and the corners on the cards were beat up and the special rookies pack had damaged edges on 2/3 cards cause of how they are "secured" in the box. Very disappointed and will only be buying singles of this release now.

Contact Upper Deck and ask for replacements for the damaged cards. You'll need proof of purchase and the box barcode #.
I searched for 2 weeks on eBay to find one in good shape and had to massively overpay ($175). Quality control is unacceptable many cards are just totally trash and udgradable

The QC from UD is just getting worse each year. Debating if I should just stop collecting until they get their shit together. Since they are now pretty much the only supplier for hockey cards, it's become very apparent they no longer give a shit about their customers.

I just opened same year but series 2 and I got 6 young guns and 3 young guns canvas in it
It's tough to justify buying the product when you only really made your money back on 1 box out of the case (boxes at my LCS have been $150) I could just buy the best card for that lol

Z, I think you can send damaged cards to Upper Deck for replacement.
Yes, you can. Have to contact them in whichever way you choose to. They give you a number or a code and that applies to your package your sending. This way they can look at, determine what to do, and where to send replacement or anything deemed of a relative equal value at the time.
Base, inserts, it does not matter, you have paid for them and they try to do the best to resolve any issues.

I'm glad your last part was solid because before that I can safely say I opened a single box better then your entire case (a Zegras YGC, a Caufield French YG, a Swayman, a Lukkonen and a exclusives and clearcut YG on top (not note worthy names though)).

The lesson is stay away from hobby? 1 numbered card in the whole case
Almost makes you wonder if the poor quality control is purposely done. I say this because of the grading craze. Lower quality cards means less 9’s and 10’s. I find it hard to believe that UD was capable of way better quality cut cards 30 years ago compared to now. Just a thought.
One thing that happens with manufacturing is you get machines that are more efficient and less reliable/consistent. Also they probably eliminated any person who dou le checked quality control since its more cost effective to have people ask to get replacements. I highly doubt they would purposely make less highly graded cards on purpose and any collusion with grading companies would be illegal
30 years ago UD wasn't making all the different sets they do now. You have all these different sets that UD puts out now so basically they are trying to get everything they can out there and the quality is dropping at a rapid rate. The same thing happened to Harley Davidson when AMF took them over in the 70s. Just trying to get as much product out and worry about quality later. If UD would cut back on the different sets and concentrate on quality a lot of collectors would be a lot happier.

Upper deck is hostile lately, what we really need to do is stop buying it and then they will pay attention to detail unfortunately it is an addiction and we will keep buying it regardless shame on them but shame on us for being so gullible
