When I was in the Army in 1973 I was station in San Francisco ar Letterman Army Medical Center. The recreation center had a 40 ft cabin cruiser that we could reserve for a day. I could take 3 other people with me for a day of fishing. We had to choose before leaving the dock rather we wanted to go trolling for salmon or bottom fish for a variety of fish. We always caught more than we could eat and that led to the best part, Giving away 20 to50 lb fresh fish to families that loved you for it! Spreading love never gets old🌞

Those big spear guns were some logs! You know a fish is big & powerful when it gets speared through the head or near abouts, and pulls itself free after a 30 minute tug of war!

Glad you guys could come to my part of the country. But you haven't lived until you get on a party boat with about 25 guys and start catching Bluefin, yellowtail or Albacore in the 30lbs. or up range. If it's a group that knows what they are doing it almost turns into a dance around the boat. It' fun and cool!

Gabe, if you get time watch this video. Its one of my favorites channels on CZcams behind yours of course!! Lol. This guy orders and cleans a whole bluefin tuna. Its 2 parts but its several thousand dollars worth and he doesn't get flagged so I love it. Its literally the Kobe 5 grade beef of the sea. The head is part 2 but it has some of the best meat in the world. Hes from Japan and also does catch and cooks and is a great licensed spear fisherman. Maybe one day you guys can link up and each get fish on your bucket list

I live here in San Diego and I didn’t know that we have that many blue tuna in our waters i’ve been diving since 1979 I was raised here in San Diego I was born in Northern California and I learned to dive in Washington because I worked as
a ironworker in Wyoming and Colorado and said to myself when I get back to the Pacific Ocean I’m going to learn how to scuba dive so the next place I ended up working was Olympia Washington first thing I did was learn how to Dive we stayed in Olympia for six years and then move back down to San Diego when work stop I always had my gear with me and my friends and I would stopped and diving the sound and grab dinner with whatever we could get crabs oysters Or fish. I’m 65 now and I still do it occasionally but I’m really impressed with you and Kelly that you do so much hunting, fishing, diving I kind of slowed down because I got hurt on the job and switch to be an inspector but all the surgeries kind of slowed me down but you guys have been an inspiration to me and I watch you every time One of your videos pop up thank you and God bless

Black's Beach in La Jolla was the world's greatest beach ever in the history of the universe, I was stationed in San Diego from 1980-1981 for boot camp and a friend of mine told me about it, the only way down to the beach was a narrow goat trail down a cliff, which made the beach the domain of 18-25ish year old sunbathers. I thought I died and went to heaven when I first saw it. When I saw you peeking over the edge of the cliff the first thing I thought of was my first look down towards Blacks Beach. I almost didn't go. Thanks a lot for the video.

Great video as usual!! Been a fan for a long time. The last part about garbage beach really hit home. As an avid nature photographer I frequent many WMA's in Louisiana. A few years ago I went to one about 25 miles from my house, it looked like a garbage dump! One day I noticed a guy with a bucket and a grabber. I decided I could do that too. We became friends and worked to keep the area clean. Unfortunately he developed health issues. Then it became more about litter than photography.
I continued to clean but I decided to educate the local fishermen about my project. The older cane pole fishermen were more receptive than most. I would go out there twice a day and clean and educate. I explained that I didn't need to do this (because I didn't fish there) but I was hoping to make it so they didn't have to take their families fishing in a garbage dump! I was rewarded with cooperation and some great nature photographs.
would pull up and the older guys would shout "hey photoman I got my trash bucket"!! I felt like I was making a difference. Unfortunately work hours have slowed me down (and 66 years of age) but I still go out and the fishermen are still helping to make a difference!!!
Unfortunately the LDWF condemned the bridge I would cross to get my best shots but I'm trying to work around that.
You can check out the photos from the Maurepas Wildlife Management Area here facebook.com/profile.php?id=100063075409518 in the Ascension Parish album. Thanks
