- When The Shit Hits The Fan / Sunset Blvd from A Wizard, A True Star.
LYRICS:
Earthquake in New York City,
The Chrysler Building fell in my yard
But when the shit hits the fan,
I think I'll have to make my way
Back to Sunset Boulevard
Sunset Boulevard
The IRA has just hit London,
They blew up half of Scotland Yard
But when the shit hits the fan,
I guess I'll try to make my way
Back to Sunset Boulevard
Sunset Boulevard
Cruisin' down a mountain highway,
Someone's cut the brakes on my car
But when the shit hits the fan,
I know I have to get my ass back to... - Hudba
This entire album is a masterpiece!!!
Todd is a godsend

Always liked this one, pure fun in music. The measures in this Diddy are great
The fact that this is 50 years old scares me
The Wizard is one of the greatest Experimental albums from the 1970’s. So far ahead of its’ time. So many great memories partying with the best peeps. Thank You Todd
This album is blowing my mindddddddd it still sounds futuristic, so I can't even fathom how it sounded in 1972
50 years of this masterpiece tonight! Hats off to Todd Rundgren! Greetings From Brazil
This would never get made today, thank god I was around to buy this when it came out.....Progressed? Like hell we have !
Definite truth right there. And a loss. I am one thankful human being. Made it to 71... 72 looks doubtful. Oh, the Humanity! I would love to listen to this on my next birthday celebration, this September. the month of Promises.
NOW here's some of Todd's cosmic international glam rock he made in 1973. This is one of the songs that was worth the price of the album.
I was given this lp for my 10th birthday ('80) still blows my mind to this day. Nothing short of phenomenal.
Totally agree … it encapsulates the Todd universe in one song 🌟
Don't forget "International Feel"
@@whitlowjohnonly1_2 it has aged well
@@garyhanson9320 oh yes. 👍
first heard this album back in 73. way ahead of its time
What am I gonna say, Todd's greatness overshadows his humanity. Maybe he moved ur finger over or whatever.. God bless his everlasting love
What's wrong with his humanity?
@@pat3834 not a dang thang..
2:25 is when it hits you, this synth solo blows my mind
This is the song that further fueled my early Todd fandom & that he is a 'Musical Genius'!
I saw Todd in Little Rock back then and he played the entire Wizard A True Star album plus more. It was so fab....
Todd is Godd!!! Loved this for nearly 50 years
Main solo is incredible here - he turns the beat around a couple times - took me years to appreciate this one... ah, but that was long ago... thanks, Todd for this masterpiece.
Earth quake in NYC . The Chrysler Building fell in my yard.....WOW. Todd was clairvoyant
Love Todd so much. His third album a Wizard true Star a gem for sure
wasnt his debut album
There are 3 albums before this 1. Runt 2. Ballad of . . . 3. Something/anything.
drums with inverted stereo phase, absolute madman
I've always heard complaints about the audio quality on this gem. Todd, pushed the boundries of sonics to the hilt. However, I've always felt that the itchy quality of over compression added to the charm if this recording. A polished version would fall stiff upon these wide open earballs.
Yes, agree with you there … analog limitations ad an extra dimension 👏🏼❤️
It's a very druggy production
50 years later, there's still nothing like it
Just had one NYC.. 4.7 .. place shook
That's why I'm here :)
My favourite of this album . Good crescendo and so perfectly produced... a great artist
Adore this song!!!
I saw Todd in Los Angeles @ the Roxy twice!! On " Sunset Boulevard", and he did play this awesome song!! Circa late 1980's.
Great tune as well as Todd's another live and nazz too !!
awesome production
Todd is Godd 😎
I was dressed in my hip hugger bell bottoms fringe jacket little frilly mid belly top standing in line at the Agora Ball Room in Cleveland Ohio. About 7 pm in summer of 1971-72 there were many blunts passed thru the line in broad daylight. All the sudden a black stretch limo pulls right up to the curb and this guy gets out with a black top hat and black suit tails white shirt with long hair with a gold cane . We’re like whaaa? That’s Todd ! He comes to us does some chi chat tokes a blunt shakes some hands says “ I’ll see ya inside” and gets back in the Limo. That was far out man😉✌️🤗
Yes … well except we didn’t call them blunts back then, we called them joints … makes me think the whole comment was a bullshit lie
@@aeropilot4419 I used the word blunts due to the language term Joint is not used by the current generations at hand, And my comment is all true, we all saw him and were very surprised but it was so cool of him to greet us! Peace
Ps. First time on Sunset Blvd. Todd play with the Hello people band. They did a funny skit onstage 'bout smokin' a joint!
Thanx for your acknowledgement. I have been to a few Todd shows. The last two times was in a club on Sherman way in the San Fernando Valley. He performed Lord Chancellor's nightmare song both times plus a piano piece by Debussy. Todd does not use his middle finger on his right hand while playing piano. Just a bit of trivia for you. Also saw him on Vine in Hollywood California about a block from Hollywood Blvd. He did Bang the drum. Awesome!!
wow...incredible stuff
This and Open My Eyes his finest moments
Earthquake in NYC!
I will propose that Error 404 is not really a bad thing, as an overwhelming counterbalance abounds in the serendipity that is . . . the length of this song. So, let le shit, hitteth. I'm a fan.
2:53 when you step on a lego
Earthquake in New York City!
that slowed ending hits different when you're high
when the shits hits the fan los angeles will always keep you safe
I’m getting Legend of Zelda, Mario Galaxy vibes
I wonder if this guy likes sunset boulevard
Prog Rock par excellence
This is now. (Where’s Sunset Boulivard?)
It’s a street in Los Angeles … it starts downtown just east of the 110 Fwy, then heads NE then directly West through Hollywood ending in Santa Monica
Anyone know what synth is being played at 2:26 ?
He had an EMS VCS3 synthesizer around this time (see the gatefold sleeve artwork for Something/Anything?, and the credits of Runt: The Ballad), so I'm guessing he had that.
This and a bunch of his other songs are the father of Tame Impala.
What's with all of the extra echo?
Lo único que no me gusta de este disco es que las canciones están seguidas. Por lo demás es muy entretenido y ya tiene sus años encima.
I'm torn. Which is a shiitier song this or Little Feats 'The Fan'?
I think this is brilliant in a manic, deranged way. That synth solo are what mental illness and neuroticism sound like.
Im sorry to say Dan, but You must be Nuts!
@@bobcerminaro6804 Poor Dan. so sad.
Not even a contest. The song/ballad about how your wife hangs out at truck stops turning trix to bring home some money while you lie on the couch all day................
@@FoxyChariot when the Brown stuff hits the fan.. Its them shite on a stick books the blokes been churnin out. Will the real Dan Brown please sit down
