Did your birb survive the binding? I hope so. I could tell she was in a lot of pain trying to pass the egg. Egg binding is considered an immediate emergency.
As a bird keeper myself, may I ask two things; is this her full-time cage or just temporary, recovery chamber aswell as is she your pet or a story shared to you? If it is her full-time cage and you own her, she 100% needs a much larger cage, as I'm assuming she's an albino zebra finch, zebra finches are very social, vocal and love flying. Also, the egg binding could be a lack of calcium in her diet. I'm suggesting these things to make sure this never happens again, get well soon❤️
Love your note and warm concern. Seems like the bird is in a temporary cage for a vet visit. I think the keeper cares a lot to take her for treatment. Hope this little one get well soon.
It probably got it from being in a teeny tiny little cage. That's cruel because it's a flight bird. I hope it's just a separate cage for sick birds, and not its primary cage.
my vet massaged the abdomen in a teardrop motion very gently, the albumen fell out first & then the shell....she recovered immediately. you can put two drops of cooking oil on the seed to prevent this condition if the bird is nesting. If the bird is panting it is in trouble & needs the gentle massage by a vet😊
@Ichiro not just longer than usual, it usually means it gets stuck and stops moving through the oviduct altogether (could be more inside the body or more near the vent). I'm more familiar with egg binding in chickens but I'm sure it's extremely similar, though probably less common in pet birds since they don't lay every day like hens do. also, to add on, it's usually caused by nutritional deficiency (usually calcium) which makes the egg shell develop incorrectly, and/or improper/failed contractions of muscles. it can also be caused by obesity or infections though.
That cage is way too small for that finch, it needs so mucy better then whatever tf that is. It can be used as a temporary cage to bring it to vet visits or something related, but nothing more
That poor bird has to small of a cage, if it is just temporary then that is okay but if it is her permanent one PLEASE give her a bigger cage, she needs to have enough room to fly around!
Hope she recovers, poor baby, it’s like a miscarriage or still born? I’m glad you could help, but I know it’s probably very painful for her, hope she’s all better, and have a healthy baby next time, Thanks for sharing,so sorry it’s a sad thing,👍👍😢😢♥️🙏🏽
I just buried my bird after it layed an egg and the birds egg broke and it looks like my bird had this issue so it looks like I buried my bird and it died from the sand😢

For anyone wondering, egg binding is when the egg gets stuck in the tract, it happens most in younger birds that begin laying too early
Really sad..i feel..birds can't even complain cry or seek help ..unless they are domesticated
My Doumbass thought it said biting issue

@@WiththeCats I thought the same thing, I just wanted to make sure.
@@peeta_mellarkur a very good bird owner❤
The bird isn't a white zebra finch, but actually a white java sparrow!
@@ceac6574Sorry, I'm not great with identifying passeridae, thank you for letting me know!!

The video was taken at the vet, if you look at the account it all about pets at the vet. Probably just a carrier.
Give it a larger cage so it gets a better space
It's likely a temporary cage for health related reasons.
Who agrees, this bird is in a WAY too small cage…😢
💯
it’s a temporary cage for the vet visit, most likely and hopefully not its permanent one.
@@jahooooooo ok… 👍
its a travel cage.
Please don't put him in cage 😢😢😢
What do you mean?
@@Alex-km3gxthe cage is to small if they want to put the bird in the cage give it a big one
@@_Charmander_ it seems to be a temporary cage, i assume it has just went to the vet for a treatment.
@@Asia-wi8he oh ok probably
@@_Charmander_ obviously its a temporary cage, when i took my bird to the vet she reccomended a smaller cage and 'cage rest', its to keep her safe
Is that a temporary cage ? Because it’s way to small for the bird to be in it full time
So what was the treatment that it went through?
Yay it recovers ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😊😊😊😊

Can someone please explain about this egg binding?? (If you're willing) I just wanna know about it
Egg binding is when the egg takes longer than usual to go outside the womb
@@Ichiro_Manlalaro oh tysm!! I really appreciate it!

why is the water bowl upside down? Also egg binding resolves when you got the egg out or they die. why is she stuck in a horrible cage with no water ?
I assume this is just a carrier, cause this video was made at the vet's clinic.
