One of the last remaining Twinkies in existence. We bought a load and froze them. So what you do is treat it to a bit of flour. Take the excess flour off, drop it in the batter. With a Twinkie it's got a real quick, away-from-you, drop-in-the-oil experience. What you do is, you set one side of the Twinkie and then you flip it over, so it's set to the other side, and because it floats, you bury it again.
While I'm doing that with the Twinkie, we serve it with a full berry sauce-- which is raspberry, strawberry, blueberry, and blackberry. And you know what? It's a fried Twinkie, and the humor in the fried Twinkie is I want this to look like a million dollars. We try and make the plate as nice as we can, and try to make it look like one of those $15 desserts you buy in Manhattan.
Right, this little beauty's finished. It's nice and brown and crispy on the outside and on the inside the cream is just starting to melt. It's perfect, and as I say, I want to make this look like a real fancy dessert. Cream is just going there, that's how it's supposed to be. We present it and we take a little powdered sugar over the top. I'm very proud to call this The Chip Shop Fried Twinkie, fried here first.
I would visit this shop many times to have once-in-a-lifetime experiences.

The company which produced Twinkies has been purchased out of bankruptcy by two investment firms. In Mexico, Twinkie production has already resumed in May. In the US, production will resume in July. So the Twinkies are saved and everyone can be happy again!
