      Wimbledon crowds can be VERY toxic when a UK player or Fed is on the court. The commentators are the same way, they have to mention Murray all the time, even if he's not even at the tournament like this year.

    The GOAT always improves. This is the same point as the match point in the Wimbledon 2019 final, compare Djokovics play here and then. A mile out error vs a perfect passing shot. Incredible, how he managed to play his best tennis on match points.

    This was Novak’s most important Grand Slam final win in my humble opinion. Losing this would have let in too many doubts into his mind. He had lost 3 major finals in a row coming into this and won only 1 out of the last 6 he had played. Back to back losses at the French and Wimbledon to his 2 greatest rivals would have really taken a massive hit. Winning this match the way he did is what helped him win essentially everything post this match. Would have won the US if it weren’t for the heat, I was there that day. Nishikori deserves credit for winning that semi against Novak but the heat gets to Novak like nothing else.

      Yup, smart observation. A loss here, especially after having been up a match point, would have been devastating for him given that he lost the previous three finals. This match marked the beginning of the third act in his career.

      I wouldn't say he's consistent. But I agree he is the most complete player. Moreover, he isn't in his best form in the finals this year but still won.

      he's been pretty consistent over the last 11 years winning 16 grandslams, compared to Fed's 5.
      Pete dominated the 90s, Fed the 00s and Novak the 2010's.
      Fed is my fav player, he plays nicer tennis than Novak, but Novak has few weaknesses and he's so good from the baseline.

    Noles serve return is out of the world. Ie his main attribute. Ability to maintain depth from both wings is also out of the world. Federer served almost 32 aces, still he got broken so many times.

    That crowd was god-awful. Whoo-ing and Ahh-ing at every single stroke, it's almost as if they've never seen a tennis match in their lives. Glad Djokovic won this one, if only to rub their noses with it.

      Novak is biggest Wimbledon champion NOW since 2011 but ALL TIME it’s still Federer with most Wimbledon titles and Sampras is my grass goat because of 7-0 in finals over 8-4 for Federer and Sampras won 7/14 titles to appearances at Wimbledon over Federer 8/20.

    How well Djoker pulls win from the jaws of defeat especially against Nadal and Federer. If Federer hadn't smashed overhead into the net.... If Nadal had broken Djokovic few days back in 5th set.... .No wonder his H2H is better against both Federer and Rafa.

    Jimmy Connors is the one who said "ugh" at 24:56 I guess he remembers his rivalry vs Bjorn Borg in Wimbledon Finals and he's like here is a repeat of our rivalry and he was die hard going for Roger who has a 1 handed backhand and plays similar to his style and is against Novak who has a 2 handed backhand playing similar to Borg's style. Haha Bjorn won again!!!

    What a joy to watch such magnificent tennis from both but Djokovic was the better player - we are so fortunate to have the big 3 playing in the same era (with Fed crossing over two generations and evolving his game into also playing extended rallies as lead by Nadal and Djokovic).
    Thanks to each of the Big 3 raising the bar, they have each become Super Human to produce so many "greatest matches" of all time. We have been spoiled and so enjoy them whilst they are still around.

    He had the whole crowd cheering when he messed up. How can this tennis crowd be so rude. I guess the guy they were wanting to win must be pulling that out of them. Novak the superior player & sportsman won. Bravo for him. Boo for Fed fans.

    Federer, the god of tennis, owned by Nadal from 2008 to 2011 and then by Djovokic from 2011 till the end of his career.

      @Enterfly Nadal was invincible from 2008 to 2011. He then lost dominance on surfaces other than clay. He hasn't beat Federer on hard and quick surfaces a lot since 2011. His encounter with Fed since then has been mostly restricted to clay because he got knocked out way too early to meet him. Djoke on other hand has owned Fed in finals since 2011.

    This match was way better than 2019. In that match, neither player played particularly well. Federer actually played well here but it was not enough to beat a prime Djokovic

    Djokovic beats Federer in finals for fun, even in Federer's preferred Wimbledon arena. No wonder there are so many who don't like him. They can't embrace the fact that there's someone better than their hero. Find it difficult to digest. Got to feel sorry for them. (Don't mean this as disrespect to Fed. He's a true legend.)

    That last service game by Federer...... Four unforced errors to hand Djokovic the match. He just plays against himself when he plays against Djokovic. For the longest time, he was that way with Nadal but not anymore. Federer just isn't as mentally strong as a 20 time grand slam champion should be.

      Bro F O 11, he failed an easy slice in first set, and then started playing very strange from 5 - 2 lead in first set, he lost the set. I still believe F O 11, it was definitely in his reach if he would have shown mental resilience.

    R F played extremely poor in 5th set when it is 4 - 4, and he missed the super easy volley, and then played rest of the points like a very ordinary player. It is really shocking how R F mentally so vulnerable and nervous in crtically big moments. It is a tragedy for him, he does have god like skill but mentally unable to handle pressure in many losses against N D

      These are good highlights.. but nothing beats 2019 Wimbledon with Roger at double-championship point up 40-15. I remember watching that and my friends were all 'one more' with the crowd etc.. I just said calmly, unless Roger manages an ace in the next two points if Novak get a racket on the return, Novak wins. They laughed..

    I wonder if Federer had won this match how it would affect tennis history .
    Federer would have gotten to no. 18 sooner
    Nole could have gone slam less in 2014 after winning just one slam in each of 2012 and 2013
    Federer and Novak faced each other in the next year's final as well
    Seems like a really important win for Nole
