I'm trying to figure out what "you" would be in the question:
"HOW ARE YOU CALLED?" as in "how are you [to be/being] summoned?" [meaning: "how is it possible to summon you/what is done, in order to summon you..." but also doubling as "how are people already summoning you/how are you being summoned"]
'You' are not the one calling, 'you' are being called.
If it was phrased as "how does one summon you?" "one" would be enacting action (theoretically, though... see, I'm already messed up, because it is a QUESTION. I don't know if that affects matters: -"A person summons you" [a person is driving action] v. - "how does a person summon you" [???? is a person still driving action?])
When it is phrased "How are you called?"... is "you" the subject, object, or something else entirely?
The fact that it is worded as a question is making it harder for me...
"I called you," definitely has "I" "calling-" so that "I" drives the action of the sentence.
But the sentence "How are you called" is not the person enacting it-- it is asking about their enactment (I don't know if that makes a difference). It also leaves out the person who is calling (for "you" to be called, it is implied that someone else is making the call, but that person is not identified... I would assume that the person calling is the subject, and that "you" are being affected).
    Can someone help me, lol
I only typed this much because I clearly do NOT understand what I'm talking about.
Is "you" an object in "How are you called"?
