I simply installed the program fb39ca4 made on github: github.com/fb39ca4/badapple-ti84 and recorded it on a TI-83 Plus Silver Edition. I know a video already existed before this one but I noticed some notes changed in this version and the original was recorded on a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition instead of an 83. I noticed a few speed differences between the two so I thought having a video of it on an 83+SE would make an interesting perspective. If you're gonna give credit to anyone, give it to the original creator and not me, thx!!!

Hm. It's beeper, but I hear like it's several channels playing simultaneously. I've seen such tricks on 48k spectrum, but I've never known how it is done.
@@leolaus yeah now I know. It exploits the fact that beeper's speaker is not ideal and since it has coil it has parasite capasity. Because of that if you quickly turn on and off the beeper, you obtain new voltage level. If you PWM the signal, you have even more voltage levels. Thus you can have virtual channels, but usually only 2 or 3 because CPU is not so fast to do it faster on zx Spectrum.

I assume it is because the audio is peaking because when I made my vid of it on a TI-84 (I used line in on a computer for a direct capture) I was able to reduce it by lowering the line in gain so my guess it that since the I/O port of these calculators only can be set to on or off it means that you can't tell if it's too loud and if it's too loud since the audio from the calculator is only ever at max volume it means that as you raise the volume only the artifacts/interference gets louder. In general the TI I/O ports where never designed to do audio; in fact you actually need to have an adapter to even hook it up to speakers

Programmable calculators usually have a port in the bottom in which a cable can be inserted; this allows it to send and receive data.

I'm not sure about this video specifically, but audio is able to be synthesized through the link port on the calculator.
