I'm actually surprised that Combo has gotten up to F. Champs level. I mean, he was always very close, but at the last EVO I felt that F. Champ was a step above everyone else. Not just because of his skill, but also because of the theory behind his teams and the strategy.
Not sure if you guys noticed but at 51:25 Dormammu flips out after Combos hits him with Bionic Arm DHC into Rings. This shouldn't normally happen. Thoughts?
This. Imagine if Metaknight had an extra stock that hit 300% on every attack, but took more himself. You'd want to have the better positioning, because if you're trying to land against that, you're going to get messed up.
That's if it hits. There are a lot of characters that can block before they get hit with the laser if they're far enough away, and a lot of characters that can use a Hyper to avoid or even punish even if the Seven Rings activate. It just isn't that good in a lot of circumstances and using it to full effect takes a lot of foresight, a lot of lab time to find places to use it, and a lot of luck to get into a situation where you can get a guaranteed hit with it in the first place.

Dormammu keep away isn't about defense though. It's about well timed offense to keep them from getting close. If you look at ChrisG's Morrigan keep away whenever his ult's down he's blocking. With Dormammu keep away if you play it perfectly, there's no opening where you would need to block. The reason that he's pretty much the only really solid Dormammu keep away is it's HARD. Keep away isn't inherently deffensive but offensive keepaway isn't something many can do.

Combo always has a hint of a laugh in his voice in all his insults, but Champ says A) far more impactful insults through use of emphasized profanity (listen to the way he says "b*tch when referring to She-Hulk to see what i mean) and B) rather than a hint of a laugh there's either hints of annoyance, or if a laugh of a far worse kind, the laugh of the bad winner.
It might be because he's stuck with her for so long or that because she's the quickest kill in the game his survival capabilities shoot through the roof to compensate whenever she's on screen.
actually champ's defense is much stronger than his offense. that's why he plays dormammu with more of a keepaway style while almost everyone else that plays dorm goes rushdown crazy with teleports and fish hooks. i do agree with what you said about champ having horrible sportsmanship though.

Why did Capcom give EVERYTHING to Phoenix? She has following projectiles, she can fly, she can do a command over head, she teleports, she goes dark.......take out her flying and Phoenix is far more balanced IMO. She can fly her way out of mix ups to avoid dying.
honestly dark phoenix is just another character to me i have played this game but i dont play it seriously, i just go online from time to time at my friends house and i have killed a dark phoenix when it goes dark so to me its just another foot dive away now ive nvr played anyone of f champs caliber so thats a different story
