I mean I will get him but I don’t like one phrase where he talks about tiles wood and carpet if his name is sinister Steve then he should be more sinister I know he is a Home Depot themed clown but maybe if I touch him up put lots of fake blood on his tools and shirt he would be a very cool small prop

Understood, at the end of the day it all depends on your theme and/or your budget…. Lot’s of kids will get him for price…. some may put him in their workshops for kids…. And some may use him with other clowns and have a carpentry setup. He’s def not for everybody. Did you buy any HD props or still holding out for Spirit / Party City?

Does anyone know how the voice box/mechanism works? On Sinister Steve or any other animatronic of this type? I know diff companies do things a bit differently & are k own for diff pros/cons.
I was actually curious bc I think Sinister Steve is worth the money, but I’m not crazy about the sayings. We have the same feeling about the seated Jester holding the candy that does the same jump scare as Spirits Scarecrow. However the sound of the scare on Home Depot’s jester is Horrible imo. If there was a way a
To replace the voice mechanism, it might be tempting.
Please know that I am not familiar with how complicated these things are (or might be). I was simply wondering if alterations were possible or too complicated to be worth attempting. Thanks!

You should look up Chilling Props on YT ask him…..
My take on it is that” I believe” many control boxes (where the sound comes from) are made similar…. Depending on the prop “I think” you can switch certain control boxes to other props and the phrases would change (possible the mouth movements).
Would all depend on the prop the control box came from, whether all the connections fit, and if the mouth on the prop also moved.
