That sub sat very still in a few sea lanes listening to contacts for a few months at a time judging by the sediment on her hull. Totally undetectable. Fantastic job GB!! America loves you! 🔱🍻

@@PotatoSalad614 Nothing to do with the amount of sailors in the RN Submarine service - all the boats have 2 full crews - the issue would have been that the boat supposed to relieve Vanguard was not available. They only ever set off for a 90-100 day patrol, if 190+ days were the norm then they definitely would have a shortage on crew as nobody would do that as standard. I bet they get the maximum possible sea pay for the extra time and extra leave to take on top of normal allowance.

We should be aware of the sacrifice of the crews aboard these cramped vessels putting in the extra time & also think of their families who suffer the seperation too. In the UK the term Boomer’s is used to describe the SR’s who would have served on any of the R class boats 😂

I'm given to understand that the boomer/bomber thing depends on whether you're in the USN or the RN. The RN apparently calls them bombers.

What an utter disgrace! I guess when they lowered the entry requirements to the Submarine service they were always going to have a sub service that was incapable of maintaining a submarine properly. The ships husbandry on this vessel is a national disgrace.

It's one of the longest ever patrols, once submerged it stays submerged so to be undetected. Do you really think they say, hang on a minute the hull looks dirty so we'll head to the surface for a few days and get the jet wash out, oh and make sure you jet wash below the water line too 🙄
