For me, I’d add a foldable laptop stand (lots of options out there) to lift up the laptop screen if you’re bringing an external keyboard and mouse.
I really find a camera bags to be the best Tech bags, due to the modularity and adjustability. I carry my 16"MBP M2 in mine, my M1iPad Pro 12.9, lots of adapters/cables, an Elgato Stream deck that I actually use for productivity (macros), I don't even stream. Also, large over-ear headphones. It also has a place to slide over a luggage rail and it also works as a carry on. It has much more padding, tougher materials, flexibility and is cheaper. The one I use is a LowerPro Protactic 450AW
Gary ... I think the massive amount of portable charging choices from Anker are both cheaper and better than the Apple charger. I recently got an Anker 735 Charger (GaNPrime 65W) and there is a 120W version. It's got USB-C and A. So one device to charge all my stuff on a trip. So good.
I agree 100%. The anker brand is fantastic and that very, very small Anker charger is among the very best.
I agree, it's literally hard to watch people show off an Apple 2-port USB hub when you see what better gear you can get for even less money. I give Apple money when they deserve it and I do it a lot. Just dropped 4K on the M2 Macbook pro (ouch), but these adapters are sad.
Apple chargers are a bad joke compared to Anker.
The only issue with that charger is it doesn’t have the apple logo

All the presentations I've seen of Apple's new Continuity Camera feature show it being attached to a Macbook but it doesn't have to be. For musicians like myself wanting to Zoom or make videos of overhead on a piano or camera in front you playing guitar it works for that too. I got a regular microphone stand with a boom arm, then a iPhone holder that screws onto the microphone stand. Now I can wirelessly place the iPhone over the my piano or in front of me playing guitar for lessons or making practice video. My MB has my microphone plugged into it and I can just record or do Zoom and no jumping up and down like when using the iPhone by itself. The only drawback so far is you can't play with the camera setting like you can when using the iPhone by itself.
It's interesting you brought up the Netgear Nighthawk. I almost bought it a couple of weeks ago but decided for a couple more $100 I could by an iPad Air with cellular and use it as a hot spot (which is what I did) and get a new iPad, which also can of course be a second monitor via Sidecar. Not a criticism just sharing an alternative approach. Do you use a travel laptop stand to bring the laptop to eye level? I use the Vajun...

Use my iPad Pro as an extra screen with the MacBook. I also am a fan of Timbuk2 bags as they are a great size, full of pockets and storage places and also are waterproof for the Chicago weather.

Hey Gary, HELP!!! I have been trying to figure out for a week now what I should get for a docking station for my new 2022 Macbook Pro 13" M2. I have tried buying two so far, and neither have been able to get me three monitors (they both have only supported screen mirroring. Any suggestions?

I dont have the pro i have the M2 air, so no HDMI. With this is use a 14in acer portable screen that plugs in using usb-c. Its very thin and light weight, works great. The only other thing i would say would be airpod pro. this allows privacy and you can use it as a mic for those meetings.

I really don't know how you can recommend Apple's 2-port USB-C adapter when there are infinitely better options at that price and look better. 35 watts is really, really bad. It's like $30 for a 65 watt. It hurts my heart to see people encouraging Apple by buying their actual bad products. 17 watts/device. So like earpods and trickle charging your phone?

Man, I guess 3 comments here. $800 for a HUB to play WoW? You can get probably lower latency by using your iPhone 14 as a hub. I do it all the time, in Thailand, not even the US and it's flawless. Here my $20 unlimited plan includes it for free. For $800 you can't find another carrier? Dang man, I am so sorry to say this, but your travel setup and accessories are SO SERIOUSLY LAME. Even the listerine tabs won't make this setup not stink. Liked, subscribed, but come on man. You've inspired me to make a video because I guess my travel gear is epic and God level if this is what you are using as a half-million sub CZcamsr.

Not one of these things are interesting. A mouse and keyboard are standard, the charger is bad and overpriced, the bag is pricy and there are better budget options. The rest is mid as well
