It gets even more impressing knowing that Peter Kraus (Skunk) is 82 years old, Samuel Koch (Phoenix) is bound to a wheelchair and Annemarie Carpendale (Teddy) was on double duty because she hosted the TMS after show four times after performing and only like two people behind the scenes knew

Resi caterpillar is and will remain my favorite! I like all of her appearances that have never been done with any mask! You can't do anything, it’s like that Mülli won but I think it’s very close and you can say that somehow both won !!!

@Alira_escx ja, um Flausch der nicht singen kann. Hat man ja gestern gesehen. Känguru raus, obwohl der Elefant absolut scheiße gesungen hat und ebenso das Toastbrot. Bei dem hätte man sich gerne das Trommelfell totgestochen😅
Ich hatte aber mein Fernseher zerstört wenn Hammerhai nicht weiter gekommen wäre

My very personal ranking
(this one will be quite unpopular, so I thought some comments might help)
10. Phoenix (of course it was not possible for him to perform the way others could, yet neither costume nor singing could strike me - the thing I really liked about him, was, that he had a story to tell. One could really feel it, but someone‘s got to be tenth)
9. Skunk (ADORED the costume, hands down, but didn’t enjoy his embodiment. It felt like he couldn‘t sort of find into his role - even though I greatly appreciate his effort at 82, which is honestly unbelievable. With the wisdom of hindsight I read that he struggled with the mask, because he’s afflicted by panic attacks to this very day after having an accident in 2017 and couldn‘t even manage to be in a closed room without an open window. So it was such a challange for him. He said he developed to wear his skunk head starting with a few minutes to an maximum of 30. And I guess knowing who he really was, made me like his performances more - because no one imagined him to be an actual singer. So he did his job more than well. I have to admit, that I sensed such a calming „grandpa vibe“ within his voice during the first performance (likely because I watch the start-up with closed eyes), which made me think he was 70+ years old. But I never guessed his name so I couldn‘t take my current knowledge into this rating. Yet I stand even more in awe of him now)
8. Hammerhead shark (such a great performer, very mediocre singing, not quite gripping costume)
7. Chili (tremendous entertainment, didn‘t take himself too seriously, good laughs included. He was certainly not the best singer - but I liked his voice and thought he wasn‘t as bad as he‘s portraited to have been)
6. Heroine (pure professional vocals will never get to me... I wouldn‘t have even minded if she ended up 9th or so. She was actually the character I was most unconcerned about)
5. Teddy (terrific play and performances, quite ordinary singing)
4. Caterpillar (unfortunately I didn't like the costume at all... super reacting, certainly excellent singing - but personally I couldn‘t chum up with her singing style)
3. Axolotl (humour, noticeable joy in playing, smashing embodiment, improving vocals (‚Time Warp‘ was actually rather well done), poked fun at herself and others (but in the most loving way), marvellous costume)
2. Mülli (first appearance: OUTSTANDING, stellar embodiment, performances and topic... only the spark disappeared at some point (which may also be due to the fact that it was AGAIN a plush monster). Another little minus point would also be, that he‘s not only a singer, but a trained actor, host and especially musical performer. So it was naturally his thing to do and very much within his zone (I have to admit that the final had no surprises to offer, I was pretty sure with the last 5 masks - that’s why I took these thoughts into my ranking). It‘s something, he could have done in his usual working life I guess. Yet I am certainly okay with his victory)
1. Pug (really endearing costume, the only one with a recognizable development, most pleasant timbre & singing technique for my liking (I LOVED how she stayed in and played with those highs), wonderfully imperfect (stumbled about 5 times, was noticeably nervous - despite her vast stage experience, didn't take herself too seriously, made ironic/dry quips, tried Lotti's dance moves, brought the legendary 90s steps of Las Ketchup and Macarena back on stage - while the jury, once again, reached for the craziest guessing-stars), existing variety in her performances, right down the line: best package... She increasingly found into her role, left her comfort zone - despite being aflutter till the very end (she describes herself as someone who arrived into this world as a „fear baby“ and „sensitive plant“, so having her boyfriend on stage with her as a rule might actually help her to feel calm - but well... he sat on a couch for all these weeks and tried to tell everyone, including his parents on the phone, that she was actually sitting next to him). I really appreciated how she managed to find and embody the typical characteristics of a pug within herself and role: dreamy, loving, affectionate, mischievous, calm, docile, charming and a tiny bit stubborn)

To be honest, none of these were excellent. I had problems with all of them.
Is there any contestant you don't have problems with? You seem to have problems witha ll.
@@moderately_exhausted I just had problems with all of them. It didn't mean I disliked all of them. The top 4 were deserving, and none of the top 4 were BAD, just imperfect. I will say it's nice to see a monster costume win. Monsters are some of my favorites and they have had a rise and fall in the franchise. (Used to be played by top tier or high tier players, now they are usually filled by bottom-tier players.)
