Dr. Damina is trying his best, but the Biblical point of view can be simply put. The kingdom suffers a holy violence where self must be denied, the crooked and prejudice, the body and the spirit of the mind must be converted. There are hard sufferings to be endured, a force to set upon the corrupt nature. We must run, contend, fight, and be in passion. To get over such opposition from within and from without. The violent take it by force. Those who will have an interest in the great salvation are carried out towards it with a strong desire, not losing their hold without a blessing (GEN. 32:26). May grace be granted unto us through Christ our Lord. Amen!

@abdulkuku7036 My brother, that scripture was not in any way referring to the believer in Christ. We are already in Christ, already been translated from the Kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Christ, already have obtained salvation, and already have eternal life. Jesus was scolding the Pharisees about their refusal to embrace the gospel of the kingdom, the sane gospel 'sinners" , Samaritans and orhers easily embraced, believed and received. Read Luke 16:14-16 "And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him.
And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it."

@blessed4019 GOD bless you. The Biblical injunctions don't require jumping from pillar to post. Comparing that quotation of Christ with 1PETER has no resemblance, though you edited it. What is the message John the Baptist preached? Bread and butter? (MATT. 3:1-12; LK. 3:1-19). Why was Christ scolding the Pharisees? They refused to repent. Repent from what? The ministry of John was the beginning of the gospel, as it is reckoned (MK. 1:1-3; ACTS 1:22). The Luke Chapter 16 you quoted is Christ teaching the multitude of the difference between worshipping GOD and money. Hence, He talks about covetousness, and in verse 16, Christ said, "The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John. SINCE THAT TIME,*the Goodnews of the kingdom of GOD is being preached, AND EVERYONE IS *FORCING* THEIR WAY INTO IT. How are they forcing their way into it? Without repentance? By continuing to revel in their sins? The Law and the Prophets are testimony and witnesses of Christ (MATT. 17:1-13; LK. 1:13-17). My brother take your time to go through my missive. The LORD will grant you grace through Christ our Lord. Amen

@abdulkuku7036 Bros, you are still getting things twisted throwing unrelated scriptures around. I edited my post because I did not want it to be too long in trying to incorporate Peter's validation of what Christ said about the old-time prophets. I maintain that the scriptures on "the violent take it by force" or "many press into it" do not in anyway refer to the man in Christ. We have ALREADY obtained the kingdom, we are ALREADY in the kingdom. You are making it look as though, while in the kingdom, the believer should still be "pressing" and trying to obtain the kingdom with repentance. It's like having a treasure in your sokoto (trousers) and you are still traveling to the state of Sokoto looking for it. Jesus simply was urging the Pharisees who rather than believe his message of the kingdom and join the desperate "rush" into the kingdom, were busy rejecting it and deriding him.

"Suffereth violence": It is not to be obtained but by main force, by using violence upon ourselves, by mortification and penance, and resisting our perverse inclinations.
In context? Sure... You see, and you know this already, bc you are a human in this world, It's violence to fast, for instance. It hurts our lil tummies. We need food, He knows we need food. It's the most baser of our needs. And is why, Jesus told his disciples, that "this demon", to exercise THIS demon, requires prayers AND FASTING. The power of the redemption, made real in our own space and time. Deny thy selves, He says. Don't skip over these verses and say, oh, He did it all. Indeed he did. Now we must pick up OUR individual crosses, and follow him. Where? To Calvary. To make YOUR bodies, living sacrifices, St. Paul reminds us, of our lot. It's violence to deny our thirsts and hungers, isn't it?It's foolishness to seek the cross. Why would I WANT to wash the dishes, one may ask, when our wives say, I want you to WANT to wash the dishes. We don't want to wash the dishes, who WANTS to wash the dishes?? Well my dear beloveds, Bc the sincerest form of love, is suffering. Love. Unconditional love, it should "cost" us something. Not that if I do X, Y, and Z, I then purchased my wife's love and affection, that then have gained her "heavenly" reward of being her showing me kindness, mercy, and respect. No, even the publican does that. Does good, for favor. I'm talking pure agape love. And that kind of love, will always "cost" you something. It will hurt, in a manner of speaking. To do "love", is to take action, and it's hard, indeed, and the body, our ego, and our pride hates to "do" anything for the other, without reward. But to selflessly deny one's, self for God, purely for the infinite love of the other, for the unconditional love, for Him?! That's stupid, that's foolish, indeed, it's violence. And only those who do violence to themselves will enter the gates of heaven. 😳❤️❤️❤️🙏🏼🙏🏼❤️❤️

FROM the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven has suffered violence, and the violent take it by force.
    Matthew 11:12 ESV
I must have heard wrongly, but it seems as though Dr. Damina said the verse said BEFORE John the Baptist, and proceeded to give his explanation from there. "From" and "Before" connote different things, and thus the accurate interpretation of the verse cannot be what the man of God is saying in the video. For the record though, I concur with his assertion that the verse has nothing to do with the so-called spiritual warfare that is the interpretation and application held by many churches.

Don't forget that the holy ghost showed John who Christ was, but when John went to the prison he expected Jesus to come for his release but Jesus didn't because John's assignment was finished and he has to leave that's why Jesus told John's messanger to go back and tell John that what the scripture said about him is happening now, so is better to leave when the job is done.

Matt. 11:12 says, "and from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of God suffereth violence and the violent take it by force". It does not say until John the Baptist. The violent in this verse refers to those who do violence to (persecute) the children of God. John the Baptist, Jesus, the 12 apostles except John (the apostle who wrote the book of Revelation), etc. were violently killed. Both false teacher Abel Damina and those he is trying to correct are wrong. I have always condemned those using the verse to pray to mean the violent refers to believers in Christ who take or try to enter the kingdom of God by force. The violent refers to those who try to stop the Church or the spreading of the Gospel of the kingdom of God by force. Take note of the simple present tense used, " suffereth " (old English which is the same as suffers) and not simple past tense 'suffered'.

@nwekechinedu157 GOD bless you. NO sir! It is not those who try to stop the church that is violent. Those who strive to make others abhorrent do but make themselves so. The foundation of Christian practice must be laid in Christian knowledge and faith. We must first understand how we receive Christ, and then we shall know the better how to walk in Him. Peace!

Therefore.there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.because.through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit.who give life has set you ?free from the law of sin and death, for what the law was powerless to do because.it was weakened by the flesh.God did by sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin . offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh.in order that the righteous.requirement of the law might be fully .met in us .who do not live according to the flesh.but according to the spirits 🙏🕊️🈴

Jesus Christ was given to prayers, the Apostles were given to prayers, we are taught to pray without ceasing. We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual wickedness, rulers of darkness, e.t.c, hence we have to put on the whole armor of God. Being a Christ is not bread and butter, but we are more than conqueror through christ which strengthen us.
I don't think this man is given to much prayers, hence whatever he does not practice, he finds a way to explain it out of the scriptures.
Some things will not change except through fasting and prayers.
